Vortex solitons in quasi-phase-matched photonic crystals with competing quadratic and cubic nonlinearity

We introduce a methodology for investigating vortex solitons (VSs) within quasi-phase-matched (QPM) photonic crystals, featuring competing quadratic and cubic nonlinearities. The photonic crystal is introduced with a checkerboard structure, which is feasible through contemporary technological advancements. The VS family is constructed as quadrupole and 8-pole configurations, with the quadrupole solitons displaying rhombus and square modes depending on different phase-matching conditions. Notably, an intriguing transformation from the quadrupole to the 8-pole configuration can be achieved by modulating the cubic nonlinear coefficient. Additionally, the square-shaped VSs would transfer to rhombus patterns by adjusting the power and size of the checkerboard cell in the framework of cubic nonlinearity. This work presents a versatile and powerful tool for exploring and manipulating vortex solitons in QPM photonic structures, with potential applications in optical signal processing, optical communications, and nonlinear optics research.

Cluster-Based Decentralized Data-Model-Driven Optimization for Coordinated control of Wind Farm

The wake effect, which significantly degrades the power output of a wind farm, has prompted widespread consideration of the farm-level optimization problem. However, the optimization problem is highly challenging when a large-scale wind farm encounters complex wind conditions. To address this issue, we proposed a cluster-based decentralized data-model- driven optimization method to maximize the power generation of large-scale wind farms. The farm is decomposed into clusters based on the wake model and the spectral clustering algorithm. Then, the optimization problem is divided into several optimization sub-problems according to the power efficiencies in different wind directions. When controlled online, parallel data-driven optimizations are performed according to the real-time wind conditions. It is the first method to combine the advantages of model-based and data-driven methods. It achieves results close to reality and converges rapidly. Comparative simulations are conducted under different wind conditions, and the results illustrate that the proposed method significantly enhances the efficiency of large-scale optimization problems. © 2023, The Authors. Zn-CO_(2)batteries(ZCBs)are promising for CO_(2)conversion and electric energy ***,the ZCBs couple the electrochemical CO_(2)reduction(ECO_(2)R)with the oxygen evolution reaction and competitive hydrogen evolution reaction,which normally causes ultrahigh charge voltage and CO_(2)conversion efficiency attenuation,thereby resulting in~90%total power ***,isolated FeN_(3)sites encapsulated in hierarchical porous carbon nanoboxes(Fe-HPCN,derived from the thermal activation process of ferrocene and polydopamine-coated cubic ZIF-8)were proposed for hydrazine-assisted rechargeable ZCBs based on ECO_(2)R(discharging process:CO_(2)+2H+→CO+H_(2)O)and hydrazine oxidation reaction(HzOR,charging process:N_(2)H_(4)+4OH−→N_(2)+4H_(2)O+4e^(−)).The isolated FeN_(3)endows the HzOR with a lower overpotential and boosts the ECO_(2)R with a 96%CO Faraday efficiency(FECO).Benefitting from the bifunctional ECO_(2)R and HzOR catalytic activities,the homemade hydrazine-assisted rechargeable ZCBs assembled with the Fe-HPCN air cathode exhibited an ultralow charge voltage(decreasing by~1.84 V),excellent CO selectivity(FECO close to 100%),and high 89%energy *** situ infrared spectroscopy confirmed that Fe-HPCN can generate rate-determining*N_(2)and*CO intermediates during HzOR and ECO_(2)*** paper proposes FeN_(3)centers for bifunctional ECO_(2)R/HzOR performance and further presents the pioneering achievements of ECO_(2)R and HzOR for hydrazine-assisted rechargeable ZCBs.

Aiming at the low robustness of image feature extractor in Image-Based Visual Servo (IBVS), a robot visual servo method based on object detection neural network YOLOv3 is proposed. By improving the output layer of YOLOv3 and adding attitude angle of camera, the pixel coordinate and depth information of feature points, the robustness of the IBVS system based on point features is improved while it can cope with multi-type and multi-instance objects, and the problem of the image Jacoby matrix falling into singularity caused by excessive rotation angle error of the optical axis is avoided. The visual servo convergence is accelerated. Meanwhile, the network training data generation algorithm of the desired image is used to replace the traditional manual data annotation, which reduces the cost of data acquisition, and the data enhancement method ensures the generalization performance of the training model.

Autoimmune gastritis (AIG) is an atrophic gastritis caused by abnormal autoimmune function. Recent studies indicate an increasing prevalence of AIG in China. In advanced stages, AIG can progress to neuroendocrine tumors and gastric adenocarcinoma, posing a life-threatening risk to patients. However, due to the insufficient clinical awareness and nonspecific clinical manifestations of the disease, AIG has a low diagnostic rate and is frequently misdiagnosed as type B gastritis caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, which leads to delayed diagnosis. Gastroscopy serves as a critical tool for diagnosing AIG based on distinct gastroscopic features of AIG and type B gastritis. This study proposes a gastritis classification and diagnostic method based on gastroscopic images using a deep learning model, RepLKNet, with large-kernel convolution. Additionally, a channel attention mechanism, the SE module, is integrated to enhance the model's feature extraction capability. Considering the scarcity of publicly available medical image datasets for pretraining, a two-stage pretraining strategy is adopted to incrementally train the model for extracting hierarchical features. Experimental results demonstrate a classification accuracy of 89.6% on gastroscopic images. This system provides clinicians with more accurate classification suggestions for two frequently misdiagnosed types of gastritis, offering crucial information for subsequent treatment and examination.

Coal washing and sorting plays a vital role for coal production. Reasonable scheduling of washing and sorting equipment, crushers and various coal silos in the coal washing and sorting process can effectively increase the total value of product coal and reduce the total energy consumption of equipment. In this paper, a multi-constrained nonlinear mixed integer programming model considering the start and stop of each equipment in the washing process is established to realize the specific regulation of the washing process. In order to overcome the problem such as local convergence when solving high-dimensional space problems, a two-stage fuzzy heuristic algorithm is proposed in this paper. In the first stage, a variety of population genetic algorithms based on fuzzy adaptive strategy control are designed for global search to establish an elite population bank to preserve high-quality individuals produced by various groups. In the second stage, an improved simulated annealing algorithm is used to perform a local search with a backtracking process on specific neighbors of individuals in the elite population bank, which can improve the stability of the algorithm and reduce the situation of falling into local convergence. Then the real data of a Chinese coal mining company was used for experiments, where the proposed algorithm is compared with other commonly used methods. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can increase the total coal value of the washed product by at least 1.7% compared to other algorithms, and the average total number of starts and stops of the equipment is reduced by about 7.3%, which are effectively beneficial for the related enterprise.
