The event-triggered sliding-mode control (SMC) for discrete-time networked Markov jumping systems (MJSs) with channel fading is investigated by means of a genetic algorithm. In order to reduce resource consumption in the transmission process, an event-triggered protocol is adopted for networked MJSs. A key feature is that the signal transmission is inevitably affected by fading phenomenon due to delay, random noise, and amplitude attenuation in a networked environment. With the aid of a common sliding surface, an event-triggered SMC law is designed by adjusting the system network mode. Under the framework of stochastic Lyapunov stability, sufficient conditions are constructed to ensure the mean-square stability of the closed-loop networked MJSs, and the sliding region is reached around the specified sliding surface. Moreover, based on the iteration optimizing accessibility of objective function, an effective SMC approach under genetic algorithm is proposed to minimize the convergence region around the sliding surface. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by the F-404 aircraft model. © 2013 IEEE.

A Bi-direction LSTM Attention Fusion Model for the Missing POI Identification

Point-of-interest(POI) check-in data, collected from human mobility, pro-vides an excellent opportunity to understand users’ behavior. However, the collected data usually suffer from various quality issues, especially the missing geolocation informa-tion. The incomplete POI data will prevent a deep analysis of users’ preferences and movement patterns and limit its practical application. To address these issues, emerg-ing studies are conducted to predict the missing POIs. Nevertheless, existing methods generally employed history information from a single-direction perspective for POI recommendation or prediction. Considering that the missing POI identification tasks simultaneously require both former and later data of the missing target, we proposed a Bi-direction LSTM Attention Fusion model, named Bi-LAF, to combine users’ preferences with spatial-temporal patterns identifying the missing POI check-ins. Firstly, Bi-LAF integrates both Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) and self-attention mechanisms to ex-plore and combine users’ preferences and the time patterns of missing POI. Then, we employ the Great Circle Distance(GCD) and time intervals of the successive moment to learn the relationships between missing POI and candidate POIs. Finally, users’ preferences and spatial-temporal relationships are spatialized to complete the identification task of missing POIs. The proposed model is evaluated on two real large-scale datasets, and the results show that Bi-LAF outperforms the state-of-the-art related methods. © 2022, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. Degradation of organic contaminants with simultaneous recycling of Ag+from silvercontaining organic wastewater such as photographic effluents is desired. Although photoelectrocatalysis(PEC) technology is a good candidate for this type of wastewater, its reaction kinetics still needs to be improved. Herein, peroxymonosulfate(PMS) was employed to enhance the PEC kinetics for oxidation of phenol(PhOH) at the anode and reduction of Ag^(+) at the cathode. The degradation efficiency of phenol(PhOH, 0.1 mmol/L) was increased from 42.8% to 96.9% by adding 5 mmol/L PMS at a potential of 0.25 V. Meanwhile, the Ag(by wt%)deposited on the cathode was 28.1%(Ag_(2)O) in PEC process, while that of Ag(by wt%) was 69.7%(Ag^(0)) by adding PMS. According to the electrochemistry analysis, PMS, as photoelectrons acceptor, enhances the separation efficiency of charges and the direct hoxidation of Ph OH at the photoanode. Meantime, the increasing cathode potential avoided Hevolution and strongly alkaline at the surface of cathode, thus enabling the deposition of Ag+in the form of metallic silver with the help of PMS. In addition, PMS combined with PEC process was effective in treating photographic effluents.

Vector nozzle is an adjustable tail nozzle in aircraft engines. Due to the complex structure and coupling effect of each actuator, the traditional collaborative control methods can hardly achieve the required time synchronization. In this paper, an improved variable deviation collaborative control method is proposed to address such issues, which promotes the synchronization performance of nozzle actuators through an improved deviation coupler. At the same time, an adaptive disturbance rejection controller is used to enhance the robustness of the system. The experimental results show that the error of synchronization time of each actuator in the vector nozzle is less than 5%, and the steady-state error of displacement is less than 1%, which meets the requirement of practical engineering.

Distributed convex optimization for nonlinear multi-agent systems disturbed by a second-order stationary process over a digraph

In this paper, we investigate the distributed convex optimization problem for a class of nonlinear multi-agent systems disturbed by random noise over a directed graph. The target problem involves designing a continuous-time algorithm to minimize the sum of all local cost functions associated with each agent. The target noise is considered as a second-order stationary process under mild assumptions. The noise-to-state exponential stability for the multi-agent system based on random differential equations is analyzed using a random field method. Sufficient conditions corresponding to the second moment relative to the optimal solution in the form of matrix inequalities are established. Then, the grid search method is employed to determine the best system parameters such that the second moment of the estimation error has the minimum value. In addition, the obtained results are applied to solve the average consensus problem in the presence of a stationary process. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Memory-Efficient Reversible Spiking Neural Networks

Spiking neural networks (SNNs) are potential competitors to artificial neural networks (ANNs) due to their high energyefficiency on neuromorphic hardware. However, SNNs are unfolded over simulation time steps during the training process. Thus, SNNs require much more memory than ANNs, which impedes the training of deeper SNN models. In this paper, we propose the reversible spiking neural network to reduce the memory cost of intermediate activations and membrane potentials during training. Firstly, we extend the reversible architecture along temporal dimension and propose the reversible spiking block, which can reconstruct the computational graph and recompute all intermediate variables in forward pass with a reverse process. On this basis, we adopt the state-of-the-art SNN models to the reversible variants, namely reversible spiking ResNet (RevSResNet) and reversible spiking transformer (RevSFormer). Through experiments on static and neuromorphic datasets, we demonstrate that the memory cost per image of our reversible SNNs does not increase with the network depth. On CIFAR10 and CIFAR100 datasets, our RevSResNet37 and RevSFormer-4- 384 achieve comparable accuracies and consume 3.79× and 3.00× lower GPU memory per image than their counterparts with roughly identical model complexity and parameters. We believe that this work can unleash the memory constraints in SNN training and pave the way for training extremely large and deep SNNs. The code is available at https://***/mi804/***. Analysis and tuning of a three-term DMC

Most MPC (Model Predictive control) algorithms used in industries and studied in the control academia use a two-term QP (quadratic programming), where the first term is the weighted norm of the output errors, and the second term is that of the input increments. In this work, a DMC (Dynamic Matrix control) algorithm that uses three-term QP is studied, where the third term is the weighted norm of the output increments. In the analysis, a relationship between the three-term DMC and the two-term DMC is established;based on that, the closed-loop response curves are derived. Based on the analysis, two controller tuning procedures are developed for the three-term DMC, one for closed-loop step response and one for disturbance reduction. Finally, it will be proven that the three-term DMC can achieve a higher performance and robustness than the two-term DMC can. Decision module is widely used in nuclear power plant, participating in important control and protection system. Decision module performance directly affects the response of important control and protection, which is important for the security and stable operation of the nuclear power plant. This paper researches the impact of the decision module used in the steam generator level control system, which causes most of the unexpected reactor trip events. The transient response of two units is used to explain the process of decision module failure. The optimization scheme and configuration strategy of the application effect is provided.
