A study on singlet oxygen generation for tetracycline degradation via modulating the size ofα-Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticle anchored on g-C_(3)N_(4) nanotube photocatalyst

Photocatalysis is considered as an effective technique for mitigating ecological risks posed by residual tetracycline(TC).To improve the efficiency of this technique,it is necessary to enable photocatalysts to produce highly reactive species,such as singlet oxygen(1O2).However,due to the high activation energy of 1O2,photocatalysts can hardly produce 1O2 without assistance from external ***,we find that the size-reducedα-Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles(~4 nm)that anchored on g-C_(3)N_(4)nanotube(α-Fe_(2)O_(3)@CNNT)can spontaneously generate ^(1)O_(2) for degradation of *** comparison,only hydroxyl radical(·OH)can be produced by g-C_(3)N_(4)nanotube loaded with~14 nmα-Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles(α-Fe_(2)O_(3)/CNNT).Owing to the high reactivity of the ^(1)O_(2) species,the photocatalytic degradation rate(Kapp)of TC withα-Fe_(2)O_(3)@CNNT(0.056 min^(−1))was 1.8 times higher than that ofα-Fe_(2)O_(3)/*** experimental results and theoretical calculations suggested that reducing the size ofα-Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles anchored on g-C_(3)N_(4)nanotube decreased the surface electron density ofα-Fe_(2)O_(3),which induces the generation of high-valent Fe(IV)active sites overα-Fe_(2)O_(3)@CNNT and turns the degradation pathway into a unique ^(1)O_(2) dominated *** study provides a new insight on the generation of ^(1)O_(2) for effective degradation of environmental pollutant.

Maneuvering Multiple Hypersonic Flight Vehicles via a Hierarchical control Framework

This paper studies how to maneuver multiple hypersonic flight vehicles (HFVs) with desired collective forms. To this end, a hierarchical control framework utilizing the leaderfollower strategy is proposed, where the knowledge of time-varying target formation is not required for the followers. First, different from the real-weighted position constraints, the proposed matrixweighted position constraint requires fewer neighbors and less communication. Second, compared to most existing formation maneuver control methods, our method can change not only the rotation, scaling, and translation of multi-HFV formations but also a greater variety of formation shapes. Third, unlike the conventional strategies in which the altitudes and forward positions of the HFVs are controlled separately, the proposed method can control both altitudes and forward positions of the HFVs simultaneously. A remarkable advantage is its ability to achieve precise position control for each HFV. Finally, two numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy © 1965-2011 IEEE.

Fe/BC co-conditioners with environmental and economic benefits on composting:reduced NH_(3)emissions and improved fertilizer quality

The significant volatilization of NH_(3)during aerobic composting causes nitrogen(N)losses and environmental *** iron(Fe)and biochar(BC)can influence the N conversion process in *** application can delay the maturation of materials,while biochar can enhance the quality of organic *** combination of these two conditioners may help decrease NH_(3)emissions and improve organic fertilizer ***,this study investigates the effects of different doses of FeCl_(3)and BC on NH_(3)emissions and organic fertilizer quality during *** results demonstrated that Fe/BC co-conditioners reduced the accumulation of NH_(3)emissions during composting by 11.1-48.2%,increased the total nutrient content by 0.6-15.3%,and enhanced economic and environmental benefits by 0.1-23.6$t^(−1).At the high-temperature stage of composting,Fe/BC co-conditioners decreased the pH by 0.3-1.2,but there was no significant difference compared to the control at the end of composting,and they did not affect compost *** structural equation model analysis suggested that the reduction in NH_(3)emis-sions was related to ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(AOB),NH_(4)^(+)-N,and total nitrogen(TN).As a result,the Fe/BC co-conditioners reduced NH_(3)emissions by lowering the pH at the beginning of composting and increasing the content of NH_(4)^(+)-*** study concludes that Fe/BC co-conditioners could complement each other to significantly reduce NH_(3)emissions and improve the quality of organic fertilizers.

Metric localization for lunar rovers via cross-view image matching

Accurate localization is critical for lunar rovers exploring lunar terrain features. Traditionally, lunar rover localization relies on sensor data from odometers, inertial measurement units and stereo cameras. However, localization errors accumulate over long traverses, limiting the rover’s localization accuracy. This paper presents a metric localization framework based on cross-view images (ground view from a rover and air view from an orbiter) to eliminate accumulated localization errors. First, we employ perspective projection to reduce the geometric differences in cross-view images. Then, we propose an image-based metric localization network to extract image features and generate a location heatmap. This heatmap serves as the basis for accurate estimation of query locations. We also create the first large-area lunar cross-view image (Lunar-CV) dataset to evaluate the localization performance. This dataset consists of 30 digital orthophoto maps (DOMs) with a resolution of 7 m/pix, collected by the Chang’e-2 lunar orbiter, along with 8100 simulated rover panoramas. Experimental results on the Lunar-CV dataset demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed framework. Compared to the second best method, our method significantly reduces the average localization error by 26% and the median localization error by 22%. © The Author(s) 2024.

A Novel Biopharmaceutical Hybrid Model Based on Variational Decomposition and Prior Knowledge Reconstruction

In the biopharmaceutical industry, normalizing key indicators is crucial for enhancing efficiency. Thus, precise predictions of these indicators can significantly boost operational effectiveness. This task has a high industrial value, but also poses great challenges. The nonlinearity, time-varying characteristics, high trend, weak seasonality, and coupled noise effects among indicators in the biopharmaceutical require unconventional methods of series analysis. Here, we design a novel mechanistic data-driven hybrid model that can excellently fulfill the task of predict key indicators. The model transcends traditional decomposition and reconstruction approaches by employing an adaptive parameter variational decomposition method that leverages the marginal spectral sparsity index. Additionally, it utilizes a reconstruction method based on deterministic regression and prior knowledge, effectively addressing issues such as high trend, weak seasonality, and the coupled noise effects. At the same time, a hybrid of the improved data-driven model introducing the pharmaceutical mechanism is used to solve the nonlinear and time-varying problems. Benchmarking against prevailing models from the past triennium, our hybrid model demonstrates state-of-the-art performance in prediction key indicators: the volumetric dissolved oxygen coefficient, oxygen uptake rate, and carbon dioxide evolution rate. These findings not only attest to the model's precision but also underscore its practical applicability in the biopharmaceutical industry. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the rapid development of computer technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), a large amount of data containing both healthy and faulty states can be collected from existing devices in factories. However, the usable faulty state data is scarce. Transfer learning makes it possible to train efficient and reliable neural networks with a small number of samples. Domain adaptation, as a branch of transfer learning, can effectively realize knowledge transfer between small sample data. Starting from three subcategories of deep learning-based domain adaptation methods, this article summarizes the latest research achievements and provides insights into future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.

Mapping plays a crucial role in location and navigation within automatic systems. However, the presence of dynamic objects in 3D point cloud maps generated from scan sensors can introduce map distortion and long traces, thereby posing challenges for accurate mapping and navigation. To address this issue, we propose ERASOR++, an enhanced approach based on the Egocentric Ratio of Pseudo Occupancy for effective dynamic object removal. To begin, we introduce the Height Coding Descriptor, which combines height difference and height layer information to encode the point cloud. Subsequently, we propose the Height Stack Test, Ground Layer Test, and Surrounding Point Test methods to precisely and efficiently identify the dynamic bins within point cloud bins, thus overcoming the limitations of prior approaches. Through extensive evaluation on open-source datasets, our approach demonstrates superior performance in terms of precision and efficiency compared to existing methods. Furthermore, the techniques described in our work hold promise for addressing various challenging tasks or aspects through subsequent migration. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
