In steel industry, variations in the manufacturing process cause various defects in products. Thus, it is important to forecast the instance of defects in real time. However, ordinary probability models are not adequate enough to describe the observed defect count data due to the nonnegative integers characteristics, high imbalanced distribution, and overdispersion. To explicitly account for these distinctive characteristics, the present work proposes an online quality forecast system developed on the lognormal and Gamma mixed negative binomial (LGNB) model. LGNB incorporates the lognormal and Gamma distributions to account for the random effect and dispersion in the data. In addition, the drawbacks of the ordinary negative binomial (NB) model such as low robustness and biased parameter estimation against data with large dispersion are conquered by the LGNB model. The efficacy of the LGNB model was validated via its application to the defect data of an ironmaking plant. The results show that the LGNB model improves the forecast accuracy as compared to the PLS, Poisson, and NB models, respectively. © 2021 IEEE.

Colorectal cancer is a common malignancy. In colonoscopy images, computer-assisted polyp segmentation helps doctors diagnose and treat disorders more precisely. In recent years, some methods based on deep convolutional neural networks have made significant breakthroughs in this task. However, only a few algorithms explicitly consider the effect of light intensity on segmentation performance, which results in algorithms needing to be more robust for complex samples. This paper proposes a neural network combining a simple encoding structure with a reverse attention module. Specifically, the model uses HarDNet68 as the backbone network, adds a camouflage identification module (CIM) to enhance the capture of polyp details on the underlying features, and finally utilizes adaptive feature fusion with the reverse attention module (RAM). The proposed model effectively addresses the challenge of poor segmentation quality in colonoscopy images caused by inconsistent illumination. Extensive experiments on five datasets show that the proposed model performs well in polyp segmentation. © 2023 IEEE.

To promote growth,terrestrial plants release photosynthetic products into the rhizosphere in the form of root exudates through their root *** the attraction of root exudates,plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)colonize the rhizosphere to stimulate plant growth and/or suppress the growth of pathogenic *** rhizospheric recruitment of PGPR,as well as the establishment of root-microbe interactions,is initiated by chemotaxis towards root *** the past several decades,scientists have made notable strides in identifying representative chemoeffectors in root exudates,as well as the corresponding *** review here the most recent developments in rhizospheric chemotaxis,particularly the chemoeffectors in root exudates,the structural and functional characterization of methyl-accepting chemotaxis proteins of PGPR,and the impacts of rhizospheric chemotaxis on root colonization,biofilm formation,and other root-microbe interactions during ***,we propose several perspectives that aim to fully unlock the potential of PGPR as bioinoculants in sustainable agriculture.

Thermal stability of soil organic carbon subjected to water erosion as a function of edaphic factors

The stability of soil organic carbon （SOC）,as it relates to resistance to decomposition,is important for greenhouse gas emission and climate ***,the SOC stabilization and its related influencing factors subjected to water erosion remain *** objective of the current study was to determine the SOC stability under long-term water erosion and to investigate the link between SOC stability and edaphic *** samples from eroded,depositional,and control sites in a closed watershed in subtropical China were *** SOC concentration,carbon functional groups,soil physicochemical properties,and thermal stability of SOC were *** study results showed that the primary component of the SOC functional groups was O-alkyl carbon （reached 40%）,and its proportion has no significant difference among different *** TG-T50（the temperature at which 50%of the soil organic matter is lost） values indicated that the SOC thermal stability in the eroded topsoil was higher than that of the deposited *** carbon functional groups were lack of relation with SOC thermal stability（p>0.05）.However,the TG-T50was significantly positively correlated with the cation exchange capacity and silt,but remarkably negatively correlated with SOC,dissolved organic carbon,total nitrogen,sand,clay,p H,aluminum,specific surface area,and iron *** results indicated that the edaphic factors,which were strongly affected by micro-environment,are the main factors affecting thermal stability of organic *** SOC stabilization under the effects of long-term water erosion should be addressed from the perspective of the ecosystem.

Transition metal ditellurides(TMTDs)have versatile physical properties,including non-trivial topology,Weyl semimetal states and unique spin *** growth of high-quality and large-scale monolayer TMTDs with preferred crystal phases is crucial for their ***,we demonstrate the epitaxial growth of 1T'-MoTe_(2) on Au(111)and graphitized silicon carbide(Gr/SiC)by molecular beam epitaxy(MBE).We investigate the morphology of the grown1T'-MoTe_(2) at the atomic level by scanning tunnelling microscopy(STM)and reveal the corresponding microscopic growth *** is found that the unique ordered Te structures preferentially deposited on Au(111)regulate the growth of monolayer single crystal 1T'-MoTe_(2),while the Mo clusters were preferentially deposited on the Gr/SiC substrate,which impedes the ordered growth of monolayer MoTe_(2).We confirm that the size of single crystal 1T'-MoTe_(2) grown on Au(111)is nearly two orders of magnitude larger than that on Gr/*** scanning tunnelling spectroscopy(STS),we observe that the STS spectrum of the monolayer 1T'-MoTe_(2) nano-island at the edge is different from that at the interior,which exhibits enhanced conductivity.

The weighted neighborhood rough set (WNRS) is a novel neighborhood rough set model which doesn't treat all attributes as equally important. It performs well in attribute reduction on real-valued data. However, there are still so many calculations in the attribute reduction based on WNRS that its efficiency is not high enough. To solve this drawback, we propose a fast attribute reduction algorithm based on WNRS (FWNRS) in this work. Firstly, we propose three fast strategies to reduce the neighborhood search range. The first one is reducing the neighborhood search rang of each testing sample from the whole universe or the boundary region to its corresponding neighborhood. The second one is removing the positive region samples from the corresponding neighborhood. The third one is to set the initial value of the cycle to be greater than the final value and the step size to be negative when the neighborhood radius δ is optimizing. Secondly, we design the fast attribute reduction algorithm based on the fast strategies. Finally, six UCI benchmark datasets are used to verify the efficiency of FWNRS. The experimental results illustrate that FWNRS is more efficient than the state-of-the-art comparison algorithms, which are all fast attribute reduction algorithms. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s)

Non-explosive directional fracturing blasting using coal-based solid waste expanding agent

Aiming at mitigating the high risks associated with conventional explosive blasting, this study developed a safe directional fracturing technique, i.e. instantaneous expansion with a single fracture (IESF), using a coal-based solid waste expanding agent. First, the mechanism of directional fracturing blasting by the IESF was analyzed, and the criterion of directional crack initiation was established. On this basis, laboratory experiments and numerical simulations were conducted to systematically evaluate the directional fracturing blasting performance of the IESF. The results indicate that the IESF presents an excellent directional fracturing effect, with average surface undulation differences ranging from 8.1 mm to 22.7 mm on the fracture surfaces. Moreover, during concrete fracturing tests, the stresses and strains in the fracturing direction are measured to be 2.16–3.71 times and 8 times larger than those in the non-fracturing direction, respectively. Finally, the IESF technique was implemented for no-pillar mining with gob-side entry retaining through roof cutting and pressure relief in an underground coal mine. The IESF technique effectively created directional cracks in the roof without causing severe roadway deformation, achieving an average cutting rate and maximum roadway deformation of 94% and 197 mm, respectively. These on-site test results verified its excellent directional rock fracturing performance. The IESF technique, which is safe, efficient, and green, has considerable application prospects in the field of rock mechanics and engineering. © 2025 Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of sciences

Due to their unique properties and appealing applications,low dimensional sp^(3)carbon nanostructures have attracted increasing attention *** on the beam theory and atomistic studies,this work carries out a comprehensive investigation on the vibrational properties of the ultrathin carbon nanothreads(NTH).Size effect is observed in transverse free vibrations of *** quantify such effects,the modified couple stress theory(MCST)is utilized to modify the Timoshenko beam *** to the first four order frequencies of NTHs from atomistic simulations,the critical length scale parameter of MCST is calibrated as 0.1 *** is shown that MCST has minor effect on the first four order modal shapes,except for the clamped *** makes the modal shapes at the clamped boundary closer to those observed in atomistic *** study suggests that to some extent the MCST-based Timoshenko beam theory can well describe the transverse vibration characteristics of the ultrafine NTHs,which are helpful for designing and fabricating the NTH-based nanoscale mechanical resonators.

Arsenic release from microbial reduction of scorodite in the presence of electron shuttle in flooded soil

Scorodite (FeAsO_(4)·H_(2)O) is a common arsenic-bearing (As-bearing) iron mineral in nearsurface environments that could immobilize or store As in a bound *** flooded soils,microbe induced Fe(Ⅲ) or As(Ⅴ) reduction can increase the mobility and bioavailability of ***,humic substances can act as electron shuttles to promote this *** dynamics of As release and diversity of putative As(Ⅴ)-reducing bacteria during scorodite reduction have yet to be investigated in detail in flooded ***,the microbial reductive dissolution of scorodite was conducted in an flooded soil in the presence of anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate (AQDS).Anaeromyxobacter,Dechloromonas,Geothrix,Geobacter,Ideonella,and Zoogloea were found to be the dominant indigenous bacteria during Fe(Ⅲ) and As(Ⅴ) *** increased the relative abundance of dominant species,but did not change the diversity and microbial community of the systems with *** these bacteria,Geobacter exhibited the greatest increase and was the dominant Fe(Ⅲ)-and As(Ⅴ)-reducing bacteria during the incubation with AQDS and *** promoted both Fe(Ⅲ) and As(Ⅴ) reduction,and over 80%of released As(Ⅴ) was microbially transformed to As(Ⅲ).The increases in the abundance of arrA gene and putative arrA sequences of Geobacter were higher with AQDS than without *** a result,the addition of AQDS promoted microbial Fe(Ⅲ) and As(Ⅴ) release and reduction from As-bearing iron minerals into the *** results contribute to exploration of the transformation of As from As-bearing iron minerals under anaerobic conditions,thus providing insights into the bioremediation of As-contaminated soil.

In the era of big data,there is an urgent need to establish data trading markets for effectively releasing the tremendous value of the drastically explosive *** security and data pricing,however,are still widely regarded as major challenges in this respect,which motivate this research on the novel multi-blockchain based framework for data trading markets and their associated pricing *** this context,data recording and trading are conducted separately within two separate blockchains:the data blockchain(DChain) and the value blockchain(VChain).This enables the establishment of two-layer data trading markets to manage initial data trading in the primary market and subsequent data resales in the secondary ***,pricing mechanisms are then proposed to protect these markets against strategic trading behaviors and balance the payoffs of both suppliers and ***,in regular data trading on VChain-S2D,two auction models are employed according to the demand scale,for dealing with users’ strategic *** incentive-compatible Vickrey-Clarke-Groves(VCG)model is deployed to the low-demand trading scenario,while the nearly incentive-compatible monopolistic price(MP) model is utilized for the high-demand trading *** temporary data trading on VChain-D2S,a reverse auction mechanism namely two-stage obscure selection(TSOS) is designed to regulate both suppliers’ quoting and users’ valuation ***,experiments are carried out to demonstrate the strength of this research in enhancing data security and trading efficiency.
