Deep-sea pipelines play a pivotal role in seabed mineral resource development,global energy and resource supply provision,network communication,and environmental ***,the placement of these pipelines on the seabed surface exposes them to potential risks arising from the complex deep-sea hydrodynamic and geological environment,particularly submarine *** incidents have highlighted the substantial damage to pipelines due to ***,deep-sea fluidized slides(in a debris/mud flow or turbidity current physical state),characterized by high speed,pose a significant *** assessing the impact forces exerted on pipelines by fluidized submarine slides is crucial for ensuring pipeline *** study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in understanding pipeline impact forces caused by fluidized deep-sea slides,thereby identifying key factors and corresponding mechanisms that influence pipeline impact *** factors include the velocity,density,and shear behavior of deep-sea fluidized slides,as well as the geometry,stiffness,self-weight,and mechanical model of ***,the interface contact conditions and spatial relations were examined within the context of deep-sea slides and their interactions with *** upon a thorough review of these achievements,future directions were proposed for assessing and characterizing the key factors affecting slide impact loading on pipelines.A comprehensive understanding of these results is essential for the sustainable development of deep-sea pipeline projects associated with seabed resource development and the implementation of disaster prevention measures.

Rheological mechanical properties of the soft rock are afected signifcantly by its main physical characteristics-clay *** this study,taking the mudstone on the roof and foor in four typical mining regions as the research object,frstly,the clay mineral characteristic was analyzed by the X-ray difraction ***,rheological mechanical properties of mudstone samples under diferent confning pressures are studied through triaxial compression and creep *** results show that the clay mineral content of mudstone in diferent regions is diferent,which leads to signifcant diferences in its rheological properties,and these diferences have a good correlation with the content of montmorillonite and illite-montmorillonite mixed *** the montmorillonite content as an example,compared with the sample with 3.56%under the lower stress level,the initial creep deformation of the sample with 11.19%increased by 3.25 times,the viscosity coefcient and longterm strength decreased by 80.59%and 53.94%,***,based on the test results,the damage variation is constructed considering the montmorillonite content and stress level,and the M–S creep damage constitutive model of soft rock is ***,the test results can be ftted with determination coefcients ranging from 0.9020 to 0.9741,which proves that the constitutive relation can refect the infuence of the clay mineral content in the samples *** study has an important reference for revealing the long-term stability control mechanism of soft rock roadway rich in clay minerals.

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) has been extensively utilized in the precision manufacturing of difficult-to-cut material. The preparation of electrodes is of great importance for structured surface generation after EDM. Electrode wear is an inevitable problem, which affects the machining accuracy and efficiency of the workpiece. Therefore, the design and optimization of the electrodes are vital for the EDM process. In this paper, a novel self-assembly ball electrode for EDM of the structured array on the binderless tungsten carbide (WC) is proposed. The shape evolution and surface roughness of the structured surface was investigated. The result indicates that self-assembly ball electrodes have a great advantage in machining the structured surface arrays. © 2023 Proceedings - ASPE 2023 Annual Meeting. All rights reserved.

To improve the thermoelectric converting performance in applications such as power generation,reutilization of heat energy,refrigeration,and ultrasensitive sensors in scramjet engines,a thermoelectric film/substrate system is widely designed and applied,whose interfacial behavior dominates the strength and service life of thermoelectric ***,a theoretical model of a thermoelectric film bonded to a graded substrate is *** interfacial shear stress,the normal stress in the thermoelectric film,and the stress intensity factors affected by various material and geometric parameters are comprehensively *** is found that adjusting the inhomogeneity parameter of the graded substrate,thermal conductivity,and current density of the thermoelectric film can reduce the risk of interfacial failure of the thermoelectric film/graded substrate *** a stiffer and thicker thermoelectric film is advantageous to the reliability of the thermoelectric film/graded substrate *** results should be of great guiding significance for the present and upcoming applications of thermoelectric materials in various fields.

The high catalytic activity and strong stability of 3%Fe/AC catalysts for catalytic wet peroxide oxidation of m-cresol: The role of surface functional groups and FeO_(x) particles

FeO;supported on activated carbon(AC) has been shown to be an ideal catalyst for catalytic wet peroxide oxidation(CWPO) due to its high CWPO reaction activity and stability. Although there have been some studies on the mechanism of Fe/AC catalysis in CWPO, the specific contribution of each component(surface oxygen groups and FeOxon AC) inside an Fe/AC catalyst and their corresponding reaction mechanism remain unclear, and the reaction stability of CWPO catalysts has rarely been discussed. Then the optimal CWPO catalyst in our laboratory, 3%Fe/AC, was selected.(1) By removing certain components on the AC through heat treatment, its contribution to the reaction and the corresponding reaction mechanism were investigated. With the aid of temperature-programmed desorption–mass spectrometry(TPD–MS) and the CWPO reaction, the normalized catalytic contributions of components were shown to be: 37.3%(carboxylic groups), 5.3%(anhydride), 19.3%(ether/hydroxyl),-71.4%(carbonyl groups) and 100%(FeOx),respectively. DFT calculation and EPR analysis confirmed that carboxylic groups and Fe_(2)O_(3) are able to activate the H_(2)O_(2) to generate·OH.(2) The catalysts at were characterized at different reaction times(0 h, 450 h, 900 h, 1350 h, and 1800 h) by TPD–MS and M?ssbauer spectroscopy. Results suggested that the number of carboxylic goups gradually increased and the size of paramagnetic Fe_(2)O_(3) particle crystallites gradually increased as the reactions progressed. The occurrence of strong interactions between metal oxides and AC was also confirmed. Due to these effects, the strong stability of 3%Fe/AC was further improved. Therefore, the reasons for the high activity and strong stability of 3%Fe/AC in CWPO were clearly shown. We believe that this work provides an idea of the removal of cresols from wastewater into the introduction to show the potential applications of CWPO.

Monitoring and identification of spoilage-related microorganisms in braised chicken with modified atmosphere packaging during refrigerated storage

This study mainly monitored the dominant bacterial populations and identified the spoilage-related microorganisms of braised chicken meat stored under different CO_(2)-modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)during refrigerated storage using a culture-dependent method and 16S rDNA *** quality changes and shelf life of the meat were also *** growth rate of total viable count(TVC)in braised chicken was slower with an increase of CO_(2) content in MAP,which also occurred in the remaining bacterial species monitored(lactic acid bacteria,Pseudomonas spp.,Brochothrix thermosphacta).The MAP exerted beneficial effects on the quality of braised chicken,as demonstrated by retarding the production of total volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N)and delaying lipid oxidation(TBARS test).A total of 14 isolates were identified from braised chickens with different packaging at the end of storage,these included ***(6 isolates),***(2 isolates),Enterococcus faecalis(3 isolates),***(2 isolates),Staphylococcus equorum(1 isolate).

Microplastics(MPs),particularly polyvinyl chloride microplastics(PVC MPs)have become a notable environmental pollutant that affect various marine organisms such as Pinctada fucata *** filter feeders,these bivalves consume significant volumes of water containing MPs,leading to contact with and ingestion of ***,given the ecological and economic importance of *** in artificial pearl production,investigating the effects of PVC MPs exposure is *** study aimed to investigate the effects of PVC MPs exposure on nucleus retention,pearl formation,oxidative stress by examining superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,catalase(CAT)activity,lipid peroxidation(LPO),and total antioxidant capacity(TAOC)of ***,while also exploring transcriptomic changes at different concentrations and exposure time points,including a recovery *** pearl oysters were exposed to PVC MPs at concentrations of 1-,2.5-,and 5-mg PVC MPs/L for 10 d followed by 6 d of *** 1-,4-,10-d of exposure,and additional 6 d of recovery,samples were taken and *** revealed that only prolonged exposure(10 d)to PVC MPs affected SOD activity,while CAT activity,LPO,and TAOC remained unaffected throughout the ***,SOD activity was restored during the 6-d recovery *** analysis highlighted significant gene alterations linked to various pathways,affecting cellular processes,environmental information processing,genetic information processing,metabolism,and organismal systems,with an increase in pathway-related genes during recovery,implying a potential role of PVC MPs as gene *** study provided insights into the effects of PVC MPs on ***,shedding light on pearl retention,oxidative systems,and molecular pathways influenced by PVC ***,it contributed novel information on potential MPs exposure biomarkers,particularly relevant to marine organisms like ***.

Exploring efficient materials for capturing radioactive iodine in nuclear waste is of great significance for the progress of nuclear energy as well as the protection of ecological *** organic frameworks(COFs)have emerged as promising adsorbents because of their predesignable and functionalizable skeleton ***,it remains a grand challenge to achieve large scale preparation of *** this work,we developed a mild and efficient microwave irradiation method instead of the traditional solvothermal method to prepare copper phthalocyanine-based covalent organic frameworks(Cu_(x)Pc-COFs)within only 15 *** nitrogen-rich 1,2,4,5-tetracarbonitrilebenzene(TCNB)was selected as the solely organic ligand to construct copper phthalocyanine-based 2D conjugated *** resultant Cu_(x)Pc-COFs exhibited excellent iodine enrichment with 2.99 g/g for volatile iodine and 492.27 mg/g for iodine-cyclohexane solution,respectively,outperforming that of many porous *** indicated by spectroscopic analysis and DFT calculations,this impressive adsorption performance can be attributed to the charge transfer arising from nitrogen-rich phthalocyanine structures and electron-richπ-conjugated systems with iodine ***,the strong electrostatic interaction between Cu(Ⅱ)on chelate centers and polyiodide anions(I_(x)^(-))also play an important role in the firmly trapping radioactive ***,this study provides a facile and intelligent approach to implement metal-based COFs for the remediation of toxic radioactive iodine.

This paper considers few-shot learning under the cross-domain scenario. The cross-domain setting imposes a critical challenge, i.e., using very few (support) samples to generalize the already-learned model to a novel domain. We hold a hypothesis, i.e., if a deep model is capable to fast generalize itself to different domains (using very few samples) during training, it will maintain such domain generalization capacity for testing. It motivates us to propose a novel Domain-Switch Learning (DSL) framework. DSL embeds the cross-domain scenario into the training stage in a "fast switching" manner. Specifically, DSL uses a single domain for a training iteration and switches into another domain for the following iteration. During the switching, DSL enforces two constraints: 1) the deep model should not over-fit the domain in the current iteration and 2) the deep model should not forget the already-learned knowledge of other domains. These two constraints jointly promote fast generalization across different domains. Experimental results confirm that the cross-domain generalization capacity can be inherited from the training stage to the testing stage, validating our key hypothesis. Consequentially, DSL significantly improves cross-domain few-shot classification and sets up new state of the art. © 2022 ICLR 2022 - 10th International Conference on Learning Representationss. Compared with traditional natural images, remote sensing images (RSIs) typically have high resolution. The objects in the images are densely distributed, with heterogeneous orientation and large scale variation, even among objects of the same class. In recent years, object detection algorithms have made great strides in general images, but they are still difficult to meet the challenges that exist in RSIs. Therefore, we propose a foreground feature embedding network (FFE-Net) for object detection in RSIs. To better grasp the object features in RSIs, we design a foreground feature embedding module (FFEM) to learn the foreground features of the object. This is achieved by introducing an additional semantic segmentation branch and embedding the features in the classification and regression branches. Simultaneously, we propose a modified Gaussian function with focal loss (MGFFL) as a way to eliminate the extra background noise from soft labels, making the learned foreground features more robust. Our experimental results on two publicly available remote sensing image datasets, DOTA-v1.0 and HRSC2016, validate the effectiveness of FFE-Net. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
