Pasteurized milk contains complex microbial communities affected by sterilization and storage *** complex microflora may be the possible reason that pasteurized dairy products are highly prone to *** this study,packaged pasteurized milk products collected from dairy processing factories in China were stored at 0,4,10,15,and 25℃ for 0−15 days and subjected to microbial identification using high-throughput ***,6 phyla and 44 genera were identified as the dominant ***,the changes in nutritional composition of the pasteurized milk,including in 16 free amino acids,7 taste values,and 8 chemical constituents,were analyzed using principal component and multi-factor *** Pearson correlation analysis identified Pseudomonas,Aeromonas,Paenibacillus,and Serratia genera as the core functional microbiota that significantly affects the nutritional composition of pasteurized ***,the results provide a comprehensive understanding of the safety and shelf-life of stored pasteurized milk.

System-level fault diagnosis model, namely, the PMC model, detects fault nodes only through the mutual testing of nodes in the system without physical equipment. In order to achieve server nodes fault diagnosis in large-scale data center networks (DCNs), the traditional algorithm based on the PMC model cannot meet the characteristics of high diagnosability, high accuracy and high efficiency due to its inability to ensure that the test nodes are fault-free. This paper first proposed a fault-tolerant Hamiltonian cycle fault diagnosis (FHFD) algorithm, which tests nodes in the order of the Hamiltonian cycle to ensure that the test nodes are faultless. In order to improve testing efficiency, a hierarchical diagnosis mechanism was further proposed, which recursively divides high scale structures into a large number of low scale structures based on the recursive structure characteristics of DCNs. Additionally, we proved that 2(n−2)nk−1 and (n−2)tn,k/tn,1 faulty nodes could be detected for BCuben,k and DCelln,k within a limited time for the proposed diagnosis strategy. Simulation experiments have also shown that our proposed strategy has improved the diagnosability and test efficiency dramatically. © 2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press.

This paper investigates the problem of optimizing the transmission schedule between a sensor and a relay in cyber-physical systems to achieve accurate remote state estimation. The considered system model represents the plant as a linear time-invariant system, wherein the sensor measurements are transmitted to the remote estimator using an intelligent relay. Both the sensor and relay nodes are capable of harvesting energy from the external environment, and they are required to make transmission decisions at each time step to ensure the stability of system's operation. In addition, energy sharing between each other can yield significant advantages by capitalizing on the available battery power and maximizing energy harvesting from the external environment. We describe the problem of finding the optimal transmission schedule as a dynamic programming model, and establish structural properties on the optimal schedule of the sensor and relay nodes, more precisely, (i) for given battery levels and harvested energy, the optimal transmission strategy is to transmit the measurements when the error covariances at the relay and the remote estimator meet certain conditions, (ii) for given harvested energy and error covariances at the relay and the remote estimator, the optimal transmission strategy is a threshold-based strategy on the battery levels. © 2025 IEEE.

The ameliorative effects of ginger against heat-induced oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in Caenorhabditis elegans

Ginger， rich in gingerols and shogaols， exhibits multiple biological properties. However， the mechanisms underlying its thermotolerance remain unclear. The study employed network pharmacology and experimental validation in Caenorhabditis elegans to investigate how gingerol-related compounds within ginger extract (GE) mitigated damage caused by heat stress (HS). A total of 18 types of gingerol analogues were identified in GE， among which 6-， 8-， and 10-gingerol， as well as 6-， 8-， and 10-shogaol were quantified. Collectively， these six compounds accounted for 54.4% of the total composition. Supplementation with 15 μg/mL GE significantly extended heat-stress lifespan by 20.30%， while the combination of the six major gingerols and shogaols at the same concentration prolonged lifespan by 18.93%. Additionally， pretreatment with GE and the combination alleviated HS-induced oxidative damage by eliminating reactive oxygen species (ROS) and upregulating antioxidant enzymes. Network pharmacology analysis suggested that the MAPK pathway may play a crucial role in thermotolerance. Experimental findings confirmed that ginger attenuated oxidative damage through the activation of SKN-1/Nrf2 and DAF-16/FOXO via the MAPK pathway. Moreover， GE stabilized mitochondrial membrane potential and restored ATP levels， thus preserving mitochondrial function during heat exposure. Further investigations using molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations revealed that shogaols， with more stable binding affinities for KEAP1 protein， exhibited more potent effects than gingerols in prolonging lifespan and reducing ROS levels under HS conditions. In short， gingerol analogues from ginger conferred thermal resistance to nematodes by mitigating oxidative damage and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Bimetallic oxides composites have received an increasing attention as promising adsorbents for aqueous phosphate (P) removal in recent years. In this study, a novel magnetic composite MZLCO was prepared by hybridizing amorphous Zr-La (carbonate) oxides (ZLCO) with nano-FeOthrough a one-pot solvothermal method for efficient phosphate adsorption. Our optimum sample of MZLCO-45 exhibited a high Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of 96.16 mg P/g and performed well even at low phosphate concentration. The phosphate adsorption kinetics by MZLCO-45 fitted well with the pseudo-second-order model, and the adsorption capacity could reach 79% of the ultimate value within the first 60 min. The phosphate adsorption process was highly p H-dependent, and MZLCO-45 performed well over a wide p H range of 2.0-8.0. Moreover, MZLCO-45 showed a strong selectivity to phosphate in the presence of competing ions (Cl^(-), NO_(3)^(-), SO_(4)^(2-), HCO_(3)^(-), Ca^(2+), and Mg^(2+)) and a good reusability using the eluent of Na OH/Na Cl mixture, then 64% adsorption capacity remained after ten recycles. The initial 2.0 mg P/L in municipal wastewater and surface water could be efficiently reduced to below 0.1mg P/L by 0.07 g/L MZLCO-45, and the phosphate removal efficiencies were 95.7% and 96.21%, respectively. Phosphate adsorption mechanisms by MZLCO-45 could be attributed to electrostatic attraction and the inner-sphere complexation via ligand exchange forming Zr/La-O-P, -OH and CO_(3)^(2-)groups on MZLCO-45 surface played important roles in the ligand exchange process. The existence of oxygen vacancies could accelerate the phosphate absorption rate of the MZLCO-45 composites.

The locomotion control of the snake robot is a challenging task that involves many degrees of freedom. Consider the rhythmic behaviour, we introduce the central pattern generator (CPG) model to provide serpentine locomotion, since it can reduce the control dimensionality while remaining continuous and flexible. However, the model parameters are usually chosen empirically, which is time consuming and complicated. Thus, we apply deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm of reinforcement learning (RL) to tune the model and obtain optimal parameters. Consequently, the hyper-redundant snake robot performs graceful serpentine locomotion with an RL controller in simulation. The flexibility of our CPG model and the feasibility of DDPG algorithm are verified according to the experimental results. © 2021 IEEE.

To enhance the thermo-hydraulic performance of cooling channels,this investigation examines the influence of distinct cross-sectional shapes(i.e.,triangular,rectangular,and hexagonal)of twisted pin fins and their arrangements in straight and cross *** ambient air cooling test platform was established to numerically and experimentally investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics of 360°twisted pin fins at Re=*** findings reveal that straight rows exhibit higher Nu values than cross rows for triangular and rectangular twisted pin fins,and Nu increases with *** contrast,for hexagonal twisted pin fins,only straight rows at Re=19000 exhibit superior overall thermal performance compared to cross ***,the heat transfer performance of the cooling channel with hexagonal twisted fins surpasses both triangular and rectangular configurations,especially at high Reynolds numbers(Re=22800).Although the heat transfer coefficient of the cooling channel with hexagonal twisted fins is significantly enhanced by 132.71%compared to the flat channel,it also exhibits the highest thermal resistance and relative friction among the three types of twisted fins,the maximum of which are 2.14 and ***,the hydrothermal performance factor(HTPF)of the cooling channels with different types of twisted pin fins depends on the Reynolds number and arrangement *** Re=15200,the highest HTPF achieved for the cross-row hexagonal twisted pin fins is 0.99.

This study aimed to determine the regulatory mechanism of dietary zinc lactate(ZL)supplementation on intestinal oxidative stress damage in a paraquat(PQ)-induced piglet ***-eight piglets(mean body weight 9.51±0.23 kg)weaned at 28 d of age were randomly divided into control,ZL,PQ,and ZL+PQ groups(n=7 in each group).The ZL-supplemented diet had little effect on growth performance under normal physiological ***,under PQ challenge,ZL supplementation significantly improved average daily gain(P<0.05)and reduced the frequency of *** improved intestinal morphology and ultrastructure by significantly increasing the expression level of the jejunal tight junction protein,zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)(P<0.05),and intestinal zinc transport and absorption in PQ-induced piglets,which reduced intestinal *** supplementation also enhanced the expression of antioxidant and antiinflammatory factor-related genes and decreased inflammatory cytokine expression and secretion in PQinduced ***,ZL treatment significantly inhibited the activation of constitutive androstane receptor(CAR)signaling(P<0.01)in PQ-induced piglets and altered the structure of the gut microbiota,especially by significantly increasing the abundance of beneficial gut microbes,including UCG_002,Ruminococcus,Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group,Christensenellaceae_R_7_group,Treponema,unclassified_Christensenellaceae,and unclassified_Erysipelotrichaceae(P<0.05).These data reveal that pre-administration of ZL to piglets can suppress intestinal oxidative stress by improving antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity and regulating the crosstalk between CAR signaling and gut microbiota.

The detection of fake news is not confined to a single domain, and due to domain transfer, the reliance on detection methods specific to a single domain becomes inadequate when dealing with multi-domain issues. When a multi-domain detection occurs, labels from one domain focus exclusively on the news characteristics of that particular domain, ignoring the possibility that part of the news may include functions from more than one domain. To address these challenges, we propose a multi-domain fake news detection model based on fuzzy rules, incorporating a fuzzy mechanism and an optimization module for fuzzy association rules. In this model, we first introduce a fuzzy mechanism that applies fuzzy processing to domains through neural networks, constructing fuzzy domain labels for each news domain. Subsequently, we incorporate fuzzy association rules to extract a broader range of sample features, thereby enhancing detection effectiveness. Experiments conducted on a fake news dataset demonstrate that our model achieves commendable detection performance with a relatively low training cost, reaching an F1 score of over 97.13% for sample detection. This model successfully overcomes the limitations of single-domain detection in fake news identification and improves the precision of feature extraction through fuzzy rules, showing superior performance in handling multi-domain fake news detection. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Surface defect detection has gained significant importance in driving intelligent manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and ensuring process stability. However, the scarcity of labeled data and the intrinsic uncertainty of anomalies continue to pose challenges in defect detection and localization. Although normalizing flow models have been developed to address these challenges, they are not suitable for industrial environments with high real-time requirements as they contain a large number of parameters that need to be trained and inferred. In order to improve the computational efficiency of normalizing flow models, we propose a new multi-scale normalizing flow network architecture for surface defect detection. The proposed multi-scale normalizing flow network can effectively reduce inference time while maintaining a certain level of detection accuracy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through the real-world industrial dataset, and the application results demonstrated that the proposed method satisfies the requirement of real-time detection of surface defects in industrial environments.
