Oligomeric procyanidins combined with Parabacteroides distasonis ameliorate high-fat diet-induced atherosclerosis by regulating lipid metabolism,inflammation reaction and bile acid metabolism in ApoE^(-/-)mice

Atherosclerosis(AS)is the main pathological basis of cardiovascular ***,the prevention and treatment strategies of AS have attracted great research *** a potential probiotic,Pararabacteroides distasonis has a positive regulatory effect on lipid metabolism and bile acids(BAs)*** procyanidins have been confirmed to be conducive to the prevention and treatment of AS,whose antiatherosclerotic effect may be associated with the promotion of gut ***,it remains unclear whether and how oligomeric procyanidins and *** combined(PPC)treatment can effectively alleviate high-fat diet(HFD)-induced *** this study,PPC treatment was found to significantly decrease atherosclerotic lesion,as well as alleviate the lipid metabolism disorder,inflammation and oxidative stress injury in ApoE^(-/-)***,targeted metabolomics demonstrated that PPC intervention altered the BA profile in mice by regulating the ratio of secondary BAs to primary BAs,and increased fecal BAs ***,quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)analysis showed that PPC intervention facilitated reverse cholesterol transport by upregulating Srb1 expression;In addition,PPC intervention promoted BA synthesis from cholesterol in liver by upregulating Cyp7a1 expression via suppression of the farnesoid X receptor(FXR)pathway,thus exhibiting a significant serum cholesterol-lowering *** summary,PPC attenuated HFD-induced AS in ApoE^(-/-)mice,which provides new insights into the design of novel and efficient anti-atherosclerotic strategies to prevent AS based on probiotics and prebiotics.

This paper introduces the Dynamic Efficient Distributed Performance Impact (DEDPI) algorithm for optimizing task allocation in multi-UAV systems operating in dynamic environments. The algorithm overcomes the limitations of existing approaches, specifically the suboptimal solutions of dynamic task algorithms and the computational inefficiencies of extending static algorithms to dynamic contexts, by dynamically adjusting task queues and employing a novel objective function to enhance resource allocation and responsiveness. Experimental results demonstrate that DEDPI significantly increases the number of completed tasks while reducing the average task execution cost, providing an effective solution for real-time, mission-critical UAV operations.

Obesity is associated with numerous metabolic disorders,and dietary polyphenols have been confirmed to have beneficial effects on the metabolism in ***,the effect of 3-(3’,4’-dihydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid(DHPA)and 3’,4’-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid(DHAA),two main metabolites of dietary polyphenols,on obesity remains poorly *** this study,DHPA and DHAA were found to alleviate obesity,as well as regulate insulin resistance,lipid metabolism,and oxidative stress response in high-fat diet(HFD)***,the 16S rRNA sequencing and UHPLC-Q-TOF/MS demonstrated that DHPA and DHAA only slightly disturbed the intestinal microbiome,but significantly altered the urine metabolome of HFD mice mainly by regulating pentose and glucuronate interconversion,tyrosine metabolism,pentose phosphate and tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle as indicated by metabolic pathway analysis based on Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)*** analysis revealed that the differential metabolites are strongly associated with body weight,blood glucose,insulin level,and superoxide dismutase(SOD)enzyme *** results revealed that DHPA and DHAA exert their anti-obesity effect by regulating important metabolites in the glucose,lipid and tyrosine metabolism pathways.

In recent years, the proportion of wind power in electricity contribution is increasing, and wind power generation technology has developed rapidly. How to enhance the stability of wind turbine systems and extend their service life are still challenging problems due to uncertain and intermittent characteristics of natural wind. In order to ensure that variable speed wind turbines track the active power instructions released by the power system, an improved anti-windup rotor speed control strategy is designed to switch different control strategies according to the wind turbine rotor speed value, with the aim of optimizing the mechanical loads of pitch systems. Firstly, in the low wind speed region, the maximum wind energy capture is achieved by optimal torque control. When the rotor speed increases to a critic value, torque control determined by the turbine's rated output power and rotor speed is adopted. In the high wind speed region, the pitch controller is used to adjust the wind energy capture coefficient to maintain the rotor speed at its rated value. Moreover, in order to solve the problem of integral saturation in traditional rotor speed control methods, this paper proposes a bounded constraints assisted Proportional-Integral (PI) pitch angle control scheme to optimize the operation of pitch system. This control method can effectively eliminates integral saturation, mitigate fatigue loads of wind turbines, reduces overshoot of rotor speed and ensures safe and stable operation of wind turbines. Finally, the proposed method is simulated on OpenFAST platform to verify its advancement.

To improve the removal capacity of NO + O_(2) effectively, the alkaline earth metal-doped order mesoporous carbon(A-C-FDU-15(0.001)(A = Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba)) and Mg-C-FDU-15( x)( x = 0.001-0.003) samples were prepared, and their physicochemical and NO + O_(2) adsorption properties were determined by means of various techniques. The results show that the sequence in(NO + O_(2)) adsorption performance was as follows: Mg-C-FDU-15(0.001)(93.2 mg/g) > Ca-C-FDU-15(0.001)(82.2 mg/g) > Sr-C-FDU-15(0.001)(76.1 mg/g) > Ba-C-FDU-15(0.001)(72.9 mg/g) > C-FDU-15(67.1 mg/g). Among all of the A-C-FDU-15(0.001) samples, Mg-C-FDU-15(0.001) possessed the highest(NO + O_(2)) adsorption capacity(106.2 mg/g). The species of alkaline earth metals and basic sites were important factors determining the adsorption of NO + O_(2) on the A-C-FDU-15( x) samples, and(NO + O_(2)) adsorption on the samples was mainly chemical adsorption. Combined with the results of(NO + O_(2))-temperatureprogrammed desorption((NO + O_(2))-TPD) and in situ diffused reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS) characterization, we deduced that there were two main pathways of(NO + O_(2)) adsorption: one was first the conversion of NO and O_(2) to NO_(2) and then part of NO_(2) was converted to NO_(2)^(-) and NO_(3)^(-);and the other was the direct oxidation of NO to NO-2 and NO_(3)^(-).

Distributed Bilevel Optimization via Adaptive Penalization with Time-Scale Separation

This paper studies a class of distributed bilevel optimization (DBO) problems with a coupled inner-level subproblem. Existing approaches typically rely on hypergradient estimations involving computationally expensive Hessian information. To address this, we propose an equivalent constrained reformulation by treating the inner-level subproblem as an inequality constraint, and introduce an adaptive penalty function to properly penalize both inequality and consensus constraints based on subproblem properties. Moreover, we propose a loopless distributed algorithm, AHEAD, that employs multiple-timescale updates to solve each subproblem asymptotically without requiring Hessian information. Theoretically, we establish convergence κ4 rates of O((1−ρ)2K1/3 ) for nonconvex-strongly-convex cases and κ2 O((1−ρ)2K2/3 ) for distributed min-max problems. Our analysis shows the clear dependence of convergence performance on bilevel heterogeneity, the adaptive penalty parameter, and network connectivity, with a weaker assumption on heterogeneity requiring only bounded first-order heterogeneity at the optimum. Intelligent performance creativity is a new research direction of the intersection of technology and art. At present, the cutting-edge technologies such as computer simulation, emotional computing and machine learning have been applied to the evaluation and enhancement of intelligent performance creativity. The application of these technologies has greatly increased the diversity of performance forms and the complexity of performance content. For the traditional stage performance, due to the lack of timely feedback from the audience, it is difficult for the director to enhance the creativity effec-tively. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes concentration level enhancement method (CLEM). The CLEM extracts and analyzes the physiological and emotional characteristics of the audience by collecting the multimodal physiological signal data of the audience. Through the analysis of the features, the concentration information of the audience is obtained and the concentration level (CL) is defined. Based on the physiological and emotional induction mechanism, a performance creativity enhancement strategy is proposed, which enhances the performance creativity in two aspects: " Visual-based" and " Content-based". Through the concentration level enhancement method, compare the audience’s performance attention changes before and after the performance creativity enhancement, select the effective strategies to enhance the performance creativity, and provide the director with quantifiable performance creativity enhancement feedback results. The experimental results show that the CLEM proposed in this paper can effectively induce significant changes in the audience’s emotion, and the selected creative enhancement strategy can significantly improve the audience’s concentration and achieve the purpose of enhancing the creativity of the performance. © 2023, Journal of Network Intelligence.

Sampling controllability of Multi-Agent Systems Based on Structural Decomposition

In this paper, the sampling controllability of multi-agent systems (MASs) is studied, and a low-dimensional MAS with equivalent sampling controllability is constructed by equivalent transformation and structural decomposition. Inspired by this, the sampling controllability of MASs when the states are not completely controllable is analyzed by the Kalman rank criterion, with several necessary and sufficient conditions for system control being presented. It is found that the sampling controllability is related to the topology structure and the sampling period. This paper also optimizes the controllability criteria of MASs with periodic sampling by introducing state feedback design sampling protocol, showing that sampled-data MASs with state feedback can remain controllable in uncontrollable topologies, and the controllability is not affected by the sampling period. Finally, the article provides numerical examples for verification. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Cloud-based energy management systems (EMS) in smart grids face privacy challenges, as existing methods based on traditional homomorphic encryption support limited operations and are vulnerable to quantum attacks. We propose a privacy preservation method for smart grid energy management system, leveraging edge-assisted computing and ring learning with errors (RLWE) homomorphic encryption. Our approach enables both addition and multiplication operations on encrypted smart grid data while defending against quantum threats. We demonstrate the methods security under the RLWE hardness assumption and validate its effectiveness through an experimental platform simulating smart grid environments. This work addresses computational limitations in current privacy-preserving techniques, enhancing data security for evolving smart grid technologies © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Emerging organic pollutants(EoPs)in water are of great concern due to their high environmental risk,so urgent technologies are needed for effective removal of those ***,a heterogeneous advanced oxidation process(AoP)of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation by functional material was developed for degradation of a typical antibiotic,gatifloxacin(GAT).The reactive species including sulfate radical(SO^(4)^(·-))and singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2))in this AOP were regulated by interlayered ions(Na^(+)/H^(+))of titanate nanotubes that supported on Co(OH)_(2)hollow *** the Na-type(NaTi-CoHS)and H-type(HTi-CoHS)materials achieved efficient PMS activation for GAT degradation,and HTi-CoHS even exhibited a relatively high degradation efficiency of 96.6%within 5 ***(OH)_(2)was considered the key component for generation of SO_(4)^(·-)after PMS activation,while hydrogen titanate nanotubes(H-TNTs)promoted the transformation of peroxysulfate radical(SO_(5)^(·-))to ^(1)O_(2) by hydrogen bond ***,when the interlayer ion of TNTs transformed from Na^(+) to H^(+),more ^(1)O_(2) was produced for organic pollutant degradation.H-TNTs with lower symmetry preferred to adsorb PMS molecules to achieve interlayer electron transport through hydrogen bonding,rather than electrostatic interaction of Na^(+) for *** addition,the degradation pathway of GAT mainly proceeded by the cleavage of C-N bond at the 8 N site of the piperazine ring,which was confirmed by condensed Fukui index and mass spectrographic *** work gives new sights into the regulation of reactive species in AoPs by the composition of material and promotes the understanding of pollutant degradation mechanisms in water treatment process.
