Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most prevalent form of dementia, and early diagnosis is crucial for delaying and treating AD. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI), a widely used medical imaging technique, offers rich temporal and spatial data, which has led researchers to explore various feature extraction methods based on rs-fMRI images for AD identification. However, the related work still suffers from insufficient utilization of temporal and spatial information which leads to unsatisfactory early diagnosis. In this study, we propose a dual-branch fusion model to extract spatial-temporal features from rs-fMRI images. Our proposed model can extract temporal features at different levels. We developed a Class Activation Sequence (CAS) branch, which is a structure that emphasizes the function of each temporal node throughout the whole time series. Additionally, we created a time-domain local branch for local feature extraction. Further, we designed a fusion module for the model to describe temporal contextual relationships and fuse features at various levels. We tested the performance of the model on the ADNI dataset, and the experimental results show that compared with other algorithms, the dual-branch fusion model achieves higher classification accuracy on several classification tasks including early diagnosis, which proves the advantage of the dual-branch fusion model in temporal and spatial feature extraction for rs-fMRI images, and our work also provides a foundation for the temporal domain characterization of rs-fMRI images.

This paper investigates leaderless consensus (LLC) and leader-follower consensus (LFC) issues of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems (MELSs) with uncertain system parameters and input disturbances. Firstly, by utilizing event-based control strategy, event-based consensus protocols are proposed to achieve LLC and LFC, respectively. Then, to confirm that no Euler-Lagrange (EL) system will exhibit Zeno behavior under the above event-based consensus protocols, we show that the low bound of event-triggering interval is strictly positive for any time instants. Distinct with the existing related works, the proposed event-triggered consensus protocols only rely on local sampled state, and are irrelevant to the system parameters. Finally, some simulation examples are presented to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed event-based consensus algorithms. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.

Learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) method heavily relies on feature matching, which requires distinctive and descriptive representations. An effective solution is to apply non-local feature aggregation, e.g., Transformer. Albeit useful, these techniques introduce heavy computation overheads for MVS. Each pixel densely attends to the whole image. In contrast, we propose to constrain nonlocal feature augmentation within a pair of lines: each point only attends the corresponding pair of epipolar lines. Our idea takes inspiration from the classic epipolar geometry, which shows that one point with different depth hypotheses will be projected to the epipolar line on the other view. This constraint reduces the 2D search space into the epipolar line in stereo matching. Similarly, this suggests that the matching of MVS is to distinguish a series of points lying on the same line. Inspired by this point-toline search, we devise a line-to-point non-local augmentation strategy. We first devise an optimized searching algorithm to split the 2D feature maps into epipolar line pairs. Then, an Epipolar Transformer (ET) performs non-local feature augmentation among epipolar line pairs. We incorporate the ET into a learning-based MVS baseline, named ET-MVSNet. ET-MVSNet achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction performance on both the DTU and Tanks-and-Temples benchmark with high efficiency. Code is available at https://***/TQTQliu/ET-MVSNet.

In this paper, we revisit the interval observer design problem of harmonic oscillator system with unknown but bounded external disturbance and measurement noise. With the bounding information of the external disturbance and measurement noise, a high-gain interval observer is firstly defined and constructed for the harmonic oscillator system to realize the interval estimation on the state and the robust control of the system. Then, a switched high-gain interval observer is proposed to reduce the influence of the measurement noise for a tighter interval width on the state estimation. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to verify the theoretical results. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Deep learning-based methods have shown their wide application prospects in the field of solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC)***,the irrationality of the prediction object and the lack of prediction accuracy have hindered the progress of the prediction methods for SOFC ***,two algorithms are proposed in this study,a feature selection algorithm based on maximum information coefficient and Bayesian information criterion for identifying key variables that are sensitive to changes in the SOFC system,and a prediction model based on a genetic algorithm optimized for sequence to sequence *** M/BIC algorithm reduces the number of features by 62.5%(from 40 to 15),which contributes to the acceleration of the algorithm training and the subsequent sensor layout *** prediction model incorporates a two-dimensional convolutional neural network and a multi-head attention mechanism to capture more information in the input sequence,an encoder-decoder architecture and a Gated recurrent unit to better predict performance *** with real experimental data show significant changes in feature dimensionality reduction and prediction accuracy.

A nitrogen oxide sensor that can accurately and quickly detect the content of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas plays a key role in the treatment of automotive exhaust gas. Due to the characteristics of gas diffusion and chamber structure, nitrogen oxide sensors are difficult to achieve high-precision and fast measurement due to strong coupling. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a decoupling control strategy for nitrogen oxide sensors. On the one hand, the strategy uses fuzzy feedforward compensation, and on the other hand, it uses PID control based on particle swarm optimization to achieve control. This not only eliminates the coupling between loops, but also improves the control accuracy. The analysis shows that the design of the decoupling control strategy for nitrogen oxide sensors proposed in this paper is feasible, which allows the nitrogen oxide sensors to work in a stable and reliable state.

Vision Transformer Off-the-Shelf: A Surprising Baseline for Few-Shot Class-Agnostic Counting

Class-agnostic counting (CAC) aims to count objects of interest from a query image given few exemplars. This task is typically addressed by extracting the features of query image and exemplars respectively and then matching their feature similarity, leading to an extract-then-match paradigm. In this work, we show that CAC can be simplified in an extract- and-match manner, particularly using a vision transformer (ViT) where feature extraction and similarity matching are executed simultaneously within the self-attention. We reveal the rationale of such simplification from a decoupled view of the self-attention. The resulting model, termed CACViT, simplifies the CAC pipeline into a single pretrained plain ViT. Further, to compensate the loss of the scale and the order-of-magnitude information due to resizing and normalization in plain ViT, we present two effective strategies for scale and magnitude embedding. Extensive experiments on the FSC147 and the CARPK datasets show that CACViT significantly outperforms state-of-the-art CAC approaches in both effectiveness (23.60% error reduction) and generalization, which suggests CACViT provides a concise and strong baseline for CAC. Interactive medical image segmentation methods have become increasingly popular in recent years. These methods combine manual labeling and automatic segmentation, reducing the workload of annotation while maintaining high accuracy. However, most current interactive segmentation frameworks are limited to 2D image data, and are not suitable for 3D image data due to the large size and high complexity of 3D data, as well as the challenges posed by information asymmetry and sparse annotation. In this paper, we propose SliceProp, an interactive segmentation framework that implements slice-wise Label Bidirectional Propagation (LBP) for 3D medical image segmentation. SliceProp extends the interactive 2D image segmentation algorithm to 3D image segmentation, and can handle 3D data with large size and high complexity. Moreover, equipped with a Backtracking Feedback Check (BFC) module, SliceProp effectively addresses the issues of information asymmetry and spatial sparse annotation in 3D medical image segmentation. Additionally, we adopt an uncertainty-based criterion to pri-oritize the slices to be refined interactively, which enhances the efficiency of the interaction process by enabling the model to focus on the regions with the most unreliable predictions. SliceProp is evaluated on two datasets and achieves promising results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 2023 IEEE.
