The environmental scenario along the railway can be categorized as tunnel, open area, urban canyon etc. As the train moves, the environment is changing and challenging which may influence Global Navigation Satellite system (GNSS) accuracy. Environment scenarios have different characteristics, which are the main ground error source for GNSS. In order to improve GNSS for train localization robustness, it is necessary to recognize environment characteristics in each environment scenario. The GNSS receiver delivers position result information obeying NMEA-183 protocol, PRN, azimuth, elevation and SNR (Signal-to-noise-ratio) etc. Such information can be regarded as parameters to describe the environment scenario. Thus, it is meaningful to generate the heatmap state of the scenario by collecting satellite observations, using interpolation and position transformation. We train the heatmap dataset based on the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to recognize the actual receiver scenario. The overall accuracy of the model in the validation set is 88.7%. © 2022 IEEE.

Chlorella vulgaris (C. vulgaris) can provide the means to fix CO2 from complicated flue gas, treat wastewater and reach a sustainable production of petrochemical substitutes simultaneously. However, a prerequisite to achieving this goal is to promote C. vulgaris growth and improve the CO2-to-fatty acids conversion efficiency under different conditions of flue gas and wastewater. Thus, the addition of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) in C. vulgaris cultivation was proposed. Results showed that C. vulgaris were more easily inhibited by 100 ppm NO and 200 ppm SO2 under low nitrogen (N) condition. NO and SO2 decreased the carbon (C) fixation;but increased N and sulfur (S) fixation. IAA adjusted the content of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA), improved the expression of psbA, rbcL, and accD, attenuated the toxicity of NO and SO2 on C. vulgaris, and ultimately improved cell growth (2014.64–2458.16 mgdw·L−1) and restored CO2 fixation rate (170.98–220.92 mg CO2·L−1·d−1). Moreover, wastewater was found to have a high treatment efficiency because C. vulgaris grew well in all treatments, and the maximal removal rates of both N and phosphorus (P) reached 100%. Metabonomic analysis showed that IAA, "NO and SO2" were involved in the down-regulated and up-regulated expression of multiple metabolites, such as fatty acids, amino acids, and carbohydrates. IAA was beneficial for improving lipid accumulation with 24584.21–27634.23 μg g−1, especially monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) dominated by 16–18 C fatty acids, in C. vulgaris cells. It was concluded that IAA enhanced the CO2 fixation, fatty acids production of C. vulgaris and its nutrients removal rate. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

The study, published in the journal Nature Medicine, looked at data on 1,000 people from China who were tracked over an average period of six years. The participants were divided into two groups: those who lived in areas with high levels of air pollution and those who lived in areas with low levels of air pollution. The study analyzed data on patients with lung cancer, including their age, gender, exposure to air pollution, alcohol consumption, dust allergy, occupational hazards, genetic risk, chronic lung disease, balanced diet, obesity, smoking, passive smoking, chest pain, cough, hemoptysis, fatigue, weight loss, shortness of breath, wheezing, difficulty swallowing, nail thickening and snoring. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In recent years,the issue of PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution has become a significant global environmental *** study examines the spatial and temporal patterns of global PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution and exposure risks,firstly at the global and urban scale,using spatial statistical regression,exposure risk assessment,and trend analyses based on the datasets of daily PM_(2.5)and surface O_(3)concentrations monitored in 120 cities around the world from 2019 to ***,on the basis of the common emission sources,spatial heterogeneity,interacting chemical mechanisms,and synergistic exposure risk levels between PM_(2.5)and O_(3)pollution,we proposed a synergistic PM_(2.5)-O_(3)control framework for the joint control of PM_(2.5)and *** results indicated that:(1)Nearly 50%of cities worldwide were affected by PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution,with China,South Korea,Japan,and India being the global hotspots for PM2.5-O3 compound pollution;(2)Cities with PM_(2.5)-O_(3)compound pollution have exposure risk levels dominated by ST t ST(Stabilization)and ST t HR(High Risk).Exposure risk levels of compound pollution in developing countries are significantly higher than those in developed countries,with unequal exposure characteristics;(3)The selected cities showed significant positive spatial correlations between PM_(2.5)and O_(3)concentrations,which were consistent with the spatial distribution of the precursors NOx and VOCs;(4)During the study period,52.5%of cities worldwide achieved synergistic reductions in annual average PM_(2.5)and O_(3)*** average PM_(2.5)concentration in these cities decreased by 13.97%,while the average O_(3)concentration decreased by 19.18%.This new solution offers the opportunity to construct intelligent and healthy cities in the upcoming low–carbon transition.

This paper presents an analysis of a data set to determine the factors influencing airline passenger satisfaction. The study examines various criteria such as gender, customer type, age, travel type, class, and range to assess their impact on passenger satisfaction. The dataset consists of 25 columns, including attributes like Wi-Fi availability, convenience of online booking, seat comfort, in-flight entertainment, baggage handling, and overall satisfaction. The sample is relatively balanced, with equal representation of men and women, predominantly repeat customers, and a majority flying for business purposes. Key findings include a strong correlation between departure and arrival delays, higher satisfaction among passengers in business class, and positive ratings for Wi-Fi service correlating with overall satisfaction. Correlation analysis reveals interdependencies between different attributes, such as the influence of cleanliness on seat comfort and food and beverage ratings. In addition, a neural network forecasting model is used to estimate the average ratings of passengers, although with low accuracy, which was later excluded. Finally, a decision tree algorithm is utilized to identify the most significant attributes affecting passenger satisfaction words. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

A novel continuous perception garment classification mechanism is proposed in this paper, with the aim to identify the correct category of the garment from a set of known categories. It has been observed that due to the severe folding and overlapped texture of garments, treating a video of the continuous deformation of cloth as a set of disordered static figures would be ineffective which leads to low classification precision performed by an image-based garment classifier. In contrast, a high-level decision making module that leverages the classification results of each single image would significantly increase the algorithm performance. In this paper, we incorporate the optical flow variation of deformable cloth between consecutive configurations as a representative of how it is traversing within the confidence interval of the image-based classifier. We claim that it is not the number of video frames but the sum of optical flow variation of the garment configuration between consecutive frames having the same category label that constitutes the belief of garment classification. In other words, if two consecutive visual appearances of the garment could be identified as the same category by the image-based classifier, then the more diverged that two configurations are, the more confident that the garment is correctly identified. Experimental comparisons between the state-of-the-art algorithm and the proposed algorithm in a public dataset have been provided which prove the validity of the proposed algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

A new mechanism of new particle formation(NPF) is investigated using comprehensive measurements of aerosol physicochemical quantities and meteorological variables made in three continents,including Beijing,China;the Southern Great Plains site in the USA;and SMEAR Ⅱ Station in Hyytiala,Finland.D espite the considerably different emissions of chemical species among the sites,a common relationship was found between the characteristics of NPF and the stability *** stability parameter(ζ=Z/L,where Z is the height above ground and L is the Monin-Obukhov length) is found to play an important role;it drops significantly before NPF as the atmosphere becomes more unstable,which may serve as an indicator of nucleation *** the atmosphere becomes unstable,the NPF duration is closely related to the tendency for turbulence development,which influences the evolution of the condensation ***,the unstable atmosphere may dilute pre-existing particles,effectively reducing the condensation sink,especially at coarse mode to foster *** new mechanism is confirmed by model simulations using a molecular dynamic model that mimics the impact of turbulence development on nucleation by inducing and intensifying homogeneous nucleation events.

Plants sequester carbon through photosynthesis and provide primary productivity for the ecosystem. However, they also simultaneously consume water through transpiration, leading to a carbon-water balance relationship. Agricultural production can be regarded as a form of carbon sequestration *** the perspective of the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem, excessive water usage in food production will aggravate regional water pressure for both domestic and industrial purposes. Hence, achieving a harmonious equilibrium between carbon and water resources during the food production process is a key scientific challenge for ensuring food security and sustainability. Digital intelligence(DI) and cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS) are emerging as the new research paradigms that are causing a substantial shift in the conventional thinking and methodologies across various scientific fields, including ecological science and sustainability studies. This paper outlines our recent efforts in using advanced technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence(AI), digital twins, metaverses, and parallel intelligence to model, analyze, and manage the intricate dynamics and equilibrium among plants, carbon, and water in arid and semiarid ecosystems. It introduces the concept of the carbon-water balance and explores its management at three levels: the individual plant level, the community level, and the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem level. Additionally, we elucidate the significance of agricultural foundation models as fundamental technologies within this context. A case analysis of water usage shows that, given the limited availability of water resources in the context of the carbon-water balance, regional collaboration and optimized allocation have the potential to enhance the utilization efficiency of water resources in the river basin. The smart home integrates home-related facilities, which can greatly facilitate people’s life. To support applications such as breath detection and health monitoring for the smart home, it is significant to understand the effect of the human body on the characteristics of the wireless channel. In this paper, the channel characteristics for human exhalation and inhalation at 6.5 GHz are measured and analyzed. Based on the measurement results in the living room scenario, the ray tracing (RT) simulator is calibrated and used to analyze the continuous process of exhalation and inhalation. According to the measurement and simulation results, the effect of human exhalation and inhalation processes on the power and phase of the received signal is studied. The analysis of this paper could be useful in guiding the deployment of smart home devices for human body monitoring. The calibrated electromagnetic (EM) parameters of typical indoor materials will support RT-based channel simulation and modeling in indoor scenarios.

Frequency stability is the most important prerequisite for the safe operation of the power grid. To ensure the safe and stable operation of all kinds of power equipment in the power supply system. The frequency of the power supply system must be maintained within a reasonable range. In this paper, a simulation study on the frequency modulation performance of the combined automatic generation control system based on the improved particle swarm optimization is proposed, and the bidding constraints of the energy storage market are introduced. In the aspect of regulation strategy, the thermal power unit is mainly responsible for the low frequency command, and the energy storage system is responsible for the high frequency command. The real-time management of state of charge can not only improve the performance index of frequency modulation, but also ensure the efficient and stable operation of energy storage system. The operation strategy of energy storage power station to participate in the market in real time. The influence of different types of disturbances and the demand of intraday frequency modulation market are also fully considered. Through the above methods, the frequency modulation performance index can be improved, the wear degree of thermal power units can be reduced, and the reliability of operation can be improved.
