Spacecraft assembly plays an important role in spacecraft production process. Accidents in spacecraft assembly can cause product damage and worker injury, which delay the schedule of production and increase the manufacture cost, therefore, safety analysis and research on risk assessment model of spacecraft assembly have great significance to assuring of quality and schedule of spacecraft manufacture, as well as to reducing cost of spacecraft manufacture. International researches on spacecraft assembly safety and reliability are introduced. Relations and distinctions of safety and reliability of system are discussed further based on existing research and it is stressed that analytical contents in safety assessment of spacecraft assembly are not just confined to system function inability caused by component faults because human fault, system design, and environmental elements all can result in casualties, property damage or environmental pollution. Finally, a spacecraft assembly systematic safety analysis and quantitative risk assessment model is put forward which includes 4 steps:1) work procedures and tasks decomposition;2) development of Safety Analysis Graph for each task;3) development of spacecraft assembly Hazards Identification and Accident Prediction Database System;4) development of spacecraft assembly Safety Assessment Index System. The model can be validated by the actual satellites manufactured and utilized to predict accidents of spacecraft assembly correctly.

With the development of Genetically Modified (GM) food, security issue is being paid increasing attention. In this paper, a comprehensive model taking account factors which influencing GM food security is proposed. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to derive the weight of each attribute in different levels according to their importance. Basic Probability Assignment (BPA) function is generated by the safety degree of each element, then we use BPA function of the Dempster-Shafer evidence to represent the inclination of the elements. The safety degree of GM food will be get when weight was used as the discount factor and each attribute data was combined based on discount combination rule. 1548-7741/Copyright © 2011 Binary Information Press.

One of the key issues in the applications of Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is how to make a decision based on Basic Probability Assignment (BPA). The conventional method is Pignistic Probability Transformation (PPT), which transforms BPA to probability distribution with equally assignment. To solve the existing problems of pignistic probability transformation, a new transformation method using an optimization algorithm based on the conflict coefficient k is proposed in this paper. The obtained probability has the minimum conflict coefficient with the original BPA. Numerical examples are used to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method. © 2011 by Binary Information Press.

This paper presents a real-time alga classifier designed for flow-cytometry-based marine alga monitoring systems. The classifier was required to reject non-object (non-target) algae and contaminative objects, which are not seen during training, thus producing a very difficult problem. In the proposed method, a support vector data description (SVDD) ,which offers good rejection ability , was trained to reject the contaminative objects and unknown algae and a support vector machine (SVM) was used to classify the algae to taxonomic categories. Our approach achieved greater 90% accuracy on a collection of algal images. The test on contaminated algal image set (contains unknown algae and non-algae objects, such as sands) also demonstrated promising results. ©2010 IEEE.

The oil derrick structure which is the main force bearing component in oil production, to take safety assessment on it has important realistic significance. Through random reduction method to get free vibration response of the derrick structure under ambient vibration, and using the ITD method to carry out modal parameter identification on multi-points impulse response data. numerical simulation analysis shows that the identified modal frequency and modal shape and the finite element analysis results are basic coincidence, and modal damping ratio identification results, there exist the false damping ratio, need artificial identification. So for the large structures which is difficult to apply direct incentive, RD & ITD method is feasible, and suitable. This method provide theory basis for oil derrick structure to the safety assessment work, and reduce the hidden engineering accident effectually.

Based on the elastic-plastic model, two-dimensional finite element analysis was used to analyze the Air-Gap Cu interconnects thermal stress behaviors. Firstly, the stress evolution with the Air-Gap interconnect formation process steps was studied. Then, two Air-Gap types of Cu interconnects, with Air-Gap in the metal line level or extending to via level, combined with three different dielectrics were modeled to evaluate their stress characteristics. The research result is helpful to understand the influence of the dielectric and Air-Gap structure on the Cu interconnects reliability.

Temperature cycling is widely used as a qualification test in the microelectronic industry. This paper investigates an intriguing failure mode observed in such a test. FIB cross-section of test structure and SEM observation were performed for in-situ morphology analysis before and after temperature cycling. It was found that copper films surface morphology damaged substantially. Extrusions and voids were found in these films. Then, a two-dimensional finite element analysis was used to analyze the stress distribution in the test structure, taking into account the thermo-mechanical confinement effect after temperature cycling. Finally, the concept of ratcheting was used to explain fatigue phenomenon of Cu line structures.

The in plane parametric vibration of travel cable was investigated in the paper considering the coupling of cables and deck. Firstly, the nondimensionalized nonlinear equation of cable-bridge coupled parametric vibration was erected out of consideration for multimode composition. And then the Galerkin method was introduced to simplify the model. Eventually, the numerical simulation of the cable parametric vibration response was set in the practical engineering. The results show that: while the ratio of the frequency of mass block on deck to the cable first-order frequency is 2 to 1, the cable first two mode displacement and mass block all display the beat vibration phenomenon and give priority to the first-order mode. However, while the frequency ratio is 4 to 1, the beat vibration comes out only in the second-order modal displacement and mass block, and the second-order mode behaves as the master mode. Thus, during bridge design, the multimodal parametric vibration study has great theoretical significance and construction value.
