Cariogenic Streptococcus mutans(***)is a leading cause of bacterial-induced oral *** strategies to kill bacteria based on Host defense peptide(HDP)mimicking polymers hold promise to treat oral bacterial ***,we explore the impact of hydrophobic subunit and chain length variation on the antibacterial and antibiofilm activity ofβ-peptide *** physicochemical and biological prop-erties,such as the toxicity,the antibacterial activity,and the effect on bacterial transcription ofβ-peptide polymers,were systematically investigated with numerous *** results exhibited that the op-timalβ-peptide polymer has low toxicity towards human periodontal ligament fibroblasts,andβ-peptide polymers(especially P3)have more excellent antibacterial activity against *** than *** addition,β-peptide polymers inhibited the reversible and irreversible bacterial adhesion during the formation of *** polymer can promote biofilm dispersion by decreasing the hydrophobicity of bacterial cells after adhering to cell *** of the transcriptome for *** treated withβ-peptide polymers demonstrated thatβ-peptide polymers could reduce the cariogenicity of *** by impacting the transcription of the energy and acid metabolism-related genes.β-peptide polymers are promising antimicrobial agents in clinical dentistry due to their high antibacterial efficiency and low tox-icity.

A K/Ka-Band Frequency Reconfigurable GaN LNA for Multi-Band Communication Applications

A frequency reconfigurable low noise amplifier (LNA) in a 0.15-μm gallium nitride (GaN) high-electron-mobility-transistor process is presented. The concept of frequency reconfiguration utilizing a switch-based reconfigurable resonator (SBRR) to adjust the resonant frequency and introduce a transmission zero in the lower out-of-band region is discussed. Additionally, a K/Ka-band frequency-reconfigurable LNA that incorporates the SBRR is designed and fabricated for validation. The proposed LNA features a small-signal gain of 13.9/8.9 dB and a noise figure of 2.4/3.2 dB at 21/30 GHz. The measured output power 1-dB compression point (OP1-dB) is 5.5/6.7 dBm at 21/30 GHz, respectively. The chip size is 1.5 × 1.75 mm2. The reconfigurable GaN LNA is attractive for future multi-band communication systems compatible for multiple standards.

Recognizing defects in source code through deep learning methods has become an important research subject for improving software quality. Although Transformer-based models such as CodeBERT have demonstrated impressive performance improvement in defect prediction tasks, models relying on single-structured input data, such as sequences, have limited ability to capture the code's structural features. Treating code simply as text overlooks essential information such as control dependencies, data dependencies, and syntactic structures inherent in the code. This paper proposes the Heterogeneous Discrete Code Graph (HDCG), which assigns structural information to code tokens from multiple perspectives. We also introduce an improved transformer model FINEGATE that leverages HDCG to guide self-attention. The experiments demonstrate that FINEGATE can effectively predict source code defects and perform fine-grained defect localization. © 2023 IEEE.

This study investigated the characteristics of corrosion products formed on the contact and exposed re-gions of C1045 steel bolt and nut fasteners exposed to aqueous chloride *** corroded sur-face morphology,rust compositions,and corrosion kinetics of the bolt specimen were studied by visual observation,optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-Ray diffractometry(XRD),micro-Raman,electron probe micro-analyser(EPMA),and potentiodynamic polarization ***-sults obtained showed a variation in corrosion kinetics,morphology,and composition of the rust layer which were driven by differential aeration and concentration *** to the availability of sufficient dissolved oxygen,the oxyhydroxide compound,lepidocrocite(γ-FeOOH)was detected in the outer rust layer in the exposed region,whereas the inner rust layer was composed of magnetite(Fe_(3)O_(4)).How-ever,the oxygen-deficient contact surface revealed the presence of akaganeite(β-FeOOH)and magnetite(Fe_(3)O_(4))as dominant oxide *** most stable phase,goethite(α-FeOOH)was also detected in the rust formed in both regions,though in significantly low ***,owing to variation in environmental conditions,the amount and density of the rust layer varied in the different *** estimated corrosion stability values for the different regions revealed that the corrosion products formed on the steel surfaces were non-protective,suggesting the need for specific surface treatment as a protec-tive measure.

In spacecraft electronic devices,the deformation of solder balls within ball grid array(BGA)packages poses a significant risk of system ***,accurately measuring the mechanical behavior of solder balls is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of *** finite element simulations have been extensively used to study solder ball deformation,there is a significant lack of experimental validation,particularly under thermal cycling *** is due to the challenges in accurately measuring the internal deformations of solder balls and eliminating the rigid body displacement introduced during ex-situ thermal cycling *** this work,an ex-situ three-dimensional deformation measurement method using X-ray computed tomography(CT)and digital volume correlation(DVC)is proposed to overcome these *** incorporating the layer-wise reliability-guided displacement tracking(LW-RGDT)DVC with a singular value decomposition(SVD)method,this method enables accurate assessment of solder ball mechanical behavior in BGA packages without the influence of rigid body *** results reveal that BGA structures exhibit progressive convex deformation with increased thermal cycling,particularly in peripheral solder *** method provides a reliable and effective tool for assessing internal deformations in electronic packages under ex-situ conditions,which is crucial for their design optimization and lifespan predictions.

The rotor system plays a very important role in supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle system, and its dynamic problem will directly affect the motion stability and safety of the whole unit. In this paper, the rotor dynamic model of supercritical CO2 coaxial unit is established by finite element method, and the critical speed, modal shape and unbalance response of the rotor are studied. The first seven critical speed of the rotor and the first seven natural frequency of the rotor at the working speed are calculated. The bending modal of the rotor and the position where the rotor amplitude is the largest are analyzed, which can provide reference for the optimization design of the rotor stability. The influences of mass unbalances at the operational speed of rotor are analyzed. The research can provide some suggestions for the optimal design and actual operation of the supercritical CO2 coaxial integrated unit. © 2023 IEEE.

Water inrush hazard is one of the major threats in mining tunnel *** particle migration in the seepage pro-cess is the main cause of water inrush pathway and rock *** this paper,a radial water-rock mixture flow model is established to study the evolution laws of water inrush and rock *** reliability of the proposed model is verified by the experimental data from a previous *** the mixture flow model,temporal-spatial evolution laws of differ-ent hydraulic and mechanical properties are *** the proposed model's applicability and limitations are discussed by comparing it with the existing water inrush *** result shows that this model has high accuracy both in temporal evolution and spatial *** accuracy of the model is related to the fluctuation caused by particle migration and the deviation of the set *** the seepage,the porosity,permeability,volume discharge rate and volume concentration of the fluidized particle increase rapidly due to the particle migration,and this phenomenon is significant near the fluid *** the seepage progresses,the volume concentration at the outlet decreases rapidly after reaching the peak,which leads to a decrease in the growth rate of permeability and porosity,and finally a stable seepage state can be *** addition,the pore pressure is not fixed during radial particle migration and decreases with particle *** the effect of particle migration,the downward radial displacement and decrease in effective radial stress are *** addition,both cohesion and shear stress of the rock material decreased,and the rock instability eventually occurred at the outlet.

The adaptive digital beamforming technique in the space-polarization domain suppresses the interference with forming the coupling nulls of space and polarization *** there is the interference in mainlobe,it will cause serious mainlobe distortion,that the target detection suffers *** overcome this problem and make radar cope with the complex multiple interferences scenarios,we propose a multiple mainlobe and/or sidelobe interferences suppression method for dual polarization array ***,the proposed method consists of a signal preprocessing based on the proposed angle estimation with degree of polarization(DoP),and a filtering criterion based on the proposed linear *** signal preprocessing provides the accurate estimated parameters of the interference,which contributes to the criterion for null-decoupling in the space-polarization domain of *** proposed method can reduce the mainlobe distortion in the space-polarization domain while suppressing the multiple mainlobe and/or sidelobe *** effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations.

Detritus-based,bell-shaped cobwebs are an ideal model to research the plasticity of web architecture due to clearly separate defense and foraging *** performed a thoroughﬁeld investigation on the web architectures of Campanicola campanulata to research its cobweb architecture variation during the growth process and analyzed the energy trade-offs between foraging and defense at different developmental *** results indicated that as female *** grew,they dedicated more energy to defense and less energy to foraging,while males dedicated less energy to both defense and foraging through the growth *** hypothesize that cobweb spiders dedicate an increasing amount of energy to safety based on evidence obtained from their ***,we present a new model to investigate web architecture variation and provide a new framework to quantify the energy allocation between foraging and predator defense for web-building spiders.

Poisson's ratios and S-wave velocities of the Xishancun landslide,Sichuan,China,inferred from high-frequency receiver functions of local earthquakes

Landslides are recurrent geological phenomena on Earth that cause heavy casualties and property losses *** this study,we use the V_(p)-k stacking and nonlinear waveform inversion methods of high-frequency receiver functions extracted from local earthquakes,to sequentially invert Poisson’s ratios and S-wave velocities of the Quaternary Xishancun landslide,which is composed of three segments,i.e.,h1,h2,and h3 from bottom to *** results show that Poisson’s ratio values are generally higher than 0.33 and that the S-wave velocities vary from 0.1 to 0.9 km s^(-1).High Poisson’s ratios(>0.44)are mainly distributed in the juncture regions between different segments,as well as the western edge of *** zones show significant variation in landslide thickness and are potentially hazardous *** velocities of 0.05–0.2 km s^(-1)with thicknesses of 10–30m are widely observed in the lower layer of the *** high Poisson’s ratios and low-velocity layer may be related to water-rich materials in these *** study suggests that the high-frequency receiver functions from local earthquakes can be used to delineate geotechnical structures,which is valuable for landslide stability analysis and hazard mitigation.
