Considering the importance of the SF6 extra high voltage circuit breakers in the power supply system, an intelligent monitoring system is developed. And a historical database system is designed for this monitoring system in this article. This historical database can store and manage such information as historical data, historical fault information, report and device information, etc. Furthermore, there is a simple device expert database in this historical database developed to assist fault detect. The SQLite, a lightweight relational database, is adopted as the backend database in this historical database system. According to the specific requirements of the actual application for monitoring task, the Entity-Relationship model is designed. Application experiments in the actual working environment reveal that this historical database system can well accomplish the information storage and management work and completely meet the requirements of the intelligent monitoring system.

Shape regression analysis is a powerful tool to study local shape changes as a function of an independent regressor variable. In this paper, we introduce spherical harmonic(SPHARM) representation to surface manifold learning and shape regression. Here, we use root mean square distance(RMSD) to measure the deformation degree of the surface, and find out that the hippocampus' deformation degree is increased over age. We also investigate the particular changing area, and discover that the hippocampus have significant changes in the frontal area and tail area, especially in CA1 subfield.

The visualization of the coronary vasculature is of utmost importance in interventional cardiology. Intravascular surgical robots assist the practitioners to perform the complex procedure while protecting them from the tremendous occupational hazards. Robotic surgical simulation aims to provide support for the learners in both efficiency and convenience. The blood vessels especially the coronary arteries with rich details are the key part of the anatomic scenario of the virtual training system. The variations in diameters and directions make the segmentation of the coronary arteries a difficult work. In this paper, a robust and semi-automatic approach for the segmentation of the coronary arteries is developed. The approach is based on the multi-scale tubular enhancement and an improved geodesic active contours model. The demonstrated approach firstly enhances the tubular objects by computing their "vesselness". Next the edge potential maps are calculated based on the enhanced information. Meanwhile, the initial contours are generated by a modified fast marching method. Then the actual wave fronts evolution extracts the details of the coronary arteries. Finally the visualization model is organized based on the segmentation results by the marching cubes method. This approach has been proved successful for the visualization of the coronary arteries based on the CTA information.

To handle the pedestrian appearance and pose variations in complex traffic environments, we present one part-based pedestrian detection approach using a stochastic grammar model in this paper. The And-Or graph model is introduced to represent the human body as an assembly of compositional and reconfigurable parts. Thus, the task of detection is converted into the human parsing problem, which is a Bayesian inference process. We model the appearance of pedestrian parts in a rich feature representation. This appearance model enhances the Histogram of Gradients (HoG) map with Active Basis Model (ABM), which is a sparse deformable template depicting salient structures of objects. Then, geometry constraints among parts are described by Gaussian distributions. Finally, the bottom-up parsing inference is conducted by aggregating scores to get the pedestrian detection responses. In experiments, we show the superiority of our appearance model, as well as the reliable pedestrian detection results of our approach in complex traffic scenes.

Video surveillance systems play an important role in public safety monitoring and intelligent management of the subway system. In this paper, we take the video surveillance system in Suzhou Subway Line 1 as the application background and develop a comprehensive video surveillance and management platform. According to the hierarchical architecture of hardware devices in the video surveillance system, the design and implementation of this software platform in B/S framework are presented in detail. Our platform is composed of five primitive functional modules: video surveillance, device management, device alarm management, storage management, and user management. These modules not only cover the functions which are fundamental in conventional video surveillance platform, but also include some special services that are related to specific hardware devices. Through our video surveillance and management platform, various resources in the network can be uniformly integrated and controlled to realize the convenient management and flexible operation.

In complex urban traffic conditions, the accurate detection of vehicles is challenging to current vehicle detection methods. To achieve the precise vehicle detection in complex urban traffic conditions, we have proposed a vehicle detection method based on a deformable hybrid image template in this paper. Our method contains two steps: constructing our hybrid image template and its probability model, and detecting vehicles from traffic images by using a three-stage SUM-MAX procedure. In the template construction step, small image patches constituting the hybrid image template are automatically learned from training images. These image patches have various features and the feature types include sketch, texture, flatness, and color. Furthermore, a probability model is proposed to assist the vehicle detection step. After the template construction, a three-stage SUM-MAX procedure is applied to achieve vehicle detection with local deformations in locations and orientations. There are two innovations in our method which are the applications of the hybrid image template and the three-stage SUM-MAX procedure in vehicle detection under complex urban traffic conditions. To evaluate our method, we have done a quantitative and contrast experiment and the experiment on complex urban traffic conditions. The experimental results show that our method can effectively cope with various vehicle poses, vehicle shapes, time-of-day and weather conditions. In particular, our method has good performance in complex urban traffic conditions.

In traffic video surveillance systems, vehicles with various distances from the camera have different sizes, resolutions, and angles in traffic images. The common multi-scale method, which scales one vehicle template or the input image for detecting vehicles with different sizes, may fail to detect vehicles with various distances from the camera due to the change of the resolution and angle. To deal with this problem, we have proposed a multi-scale model including multiple templates with different scales and features. Our method includes two steps: constructing the multi-scale model and its probability model, and detecting vehicles from traffic images. In the first step, the multi-scale model is constructed by using three templates T-1, T-2, T-3 which represent vehicles with the short, medium, and long distance from the camera respectively. Each template contains one or some combination of sketch, texture, flatness, and color. In the second step, the three templates are applied for vehicle detection by using the template matching with local maximization operations. The main innovation of this paper is that the combination of multi-template and multi-scale method is applied to detect vehicles with various distances from the camera. To test our method, we have done several experiments on various traffic conditions. The experimental results show that our method effectively copes with vehicles with various distances from the camera and provides the detailed vehicle information after vehicle detection. Moreover, our method adapts to various weather conditions, slight pose variance, and slight occlusion.

The recently increased interests in visual measurement and control applied to underwater robots have challenged the existing visual technologies that once were sufficient in ground-based applications. This paper surveys the major difficulties and representative applications in underwater visual measurement and control, most of which result from the particularity of the aquatic environments. Specifically, the state of the art of the underwater vision is summarized from different perspectives, primarily involving key points and existing problems. In particular, the application of the embedded vision-based system in the context of bionics is accented. Finally, the potential development trends and possible breakthroughs are discussed, shedding light on the effort both in hardware and software to advance real-world underwater vision applications.
