A machine learning method of effective nonlinear decision frame for PAM-N system based on support vector machine (SVM) using complete binary tree (CBT) structure is demonstrated in this work. The simulations results indicate improved performance by the proposed classifier which enhances the power sensitivity by 2-dB and 6-dB at the receiver side in 100-Gbps PAM-4 and PAM-8 systems respectively.

Weak value amplification via second-order correlated technique

We propose a new framework combining weak measurement and second-order correlated technique. The theoretical analysis shows that weak value amplification （WVA） experiment can also be implemented by a second-order correlated system. We then build two-dimensional second-order correlated function patterns for achieving higher amplification factor and discuss the signal-to-noise ratio influence. Several advantages can be obtained by our proposal. For instance, detectors with high resolution are not necessary. Moreover, detectors with low saturation intensity are available in WVA setup. Finally, type-one technical noise can be effectively suppressed.

High speed error correction for continuous-variable quantum key distribution with multi-edge type LDPC code

Error correction is a significant step in postprocessing of continuous-variable quantum key distribution system, which is used to make two distant legitimate parties share identical corrected keys. We propose an experiment demonstration of high speed error correction with multi-edge type low-density parity check (MET-LDPC) codes based on graphic processing unit (GPU). GPU supports to calculate the messages of MET-LDPC codes simultaneously and decode multiple codewords in parallel. We optimize the memory structure of parity check matrix and the belief propagation decoding algorithm to reduce computational complexity. Our results show that GPU-based decoding algorithm greatly improves the error correction speed. For the three typical code rate, i.e., 0.1, 0.05 and 0.02, when the block length is 106 and the iteration number are 100, 150 and 200, the average error correction speed can be respectively achieved to 30.39Mbits/s (over three times faster than previous demonstrations), 21.23Mbits/s and 16.41Mbits/s with 64 codewords decoding in parallel, which supports high-speed real-time continuous-variable quantum key distribution system. We propose a method to improve the performance of two-way continuous-variable quantum key distribution protocol by virtual photon subtraction. The Virtual photon subtraction implemented via non-Gaussian postselection not only enhances the entanglement of two-mode squeezed vacuum state but also has advantages in simplifying physical operation and promoting efficiency. In two-way protocol, virtual photon subtraction could be applied on two sources independently. Numerical simulations show that the optimal performance of renovated two-way protocol is obtained with photon subtraction only used by Alice. The transmission distance and tolerable excess noise are improved by using the virtual photon subtraction with appropriate parameters. Moreover, the tolerable excess noise maintains a high value with the increase of distance so that the robustness of two-way continuous-variable quantum key distribution system is significantly improved, especially at long transmission distance. Dual connectivity in long-term evolution (LTE) networks allows users to aggregate radio-frequency (RF) resources simultaneously from at least two different nodes, i.e., master eN-ode B (MeNB) and secondary eNode B (SeNB). Dual connectivity can significantly increase the per-user throughput and enhance mobility robustness. Furthermore, visible light communications (VLC) systems have recently attracted a considerable interest for indoor wireless communications. In this paper, we propose a system of which the RF spectrum is aggregated by the visible light (VL) spectrum in order to get the benefits of both spectra in cellular systems. Simulation results show that high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values of VLC system can enhance the average per-user throughput. The throughput is increased significantly, more than the double when aggregating two blocks of spectra, one block is from the VL spectrum and the other block from RF spectrum. Furthermore, we examine VLC illumination functionality, which is required for the proposed system model. We demonstrate that the illumination is within the standard 2001000 lx illumination criteria. © 2017 IEEE.

In this study, the authors present efficient frequency-domain channel estimation (CE) methods based on the adjacent subcarriers frequency-domain averaging (ASFA) and minimum mean squared error (MMSE) schemes for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing/offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OFDM/OQAM) passive optical network (PON) system. The complete channel transmission response for OFDM/OQAM-PON with the chromatic dispersion induced intrinsic imaginary interference effect is systemically derived. Compared with the conventional interference approximation CE method, ASFA and MMSE offer improved receiver sensitivity.

OMNIRank: Risk quantification for P2P platforms with deep learning

P2P lending presents as an innovative and flexible alternative for conventional lending institutions like banks, where lenders and borrowers directly make transactions and benefit each other without complicated verifications. However, due to lack of specialized laws, delegated monitoring and effective managements, P2P platforms may spawn potential risks, such as withdraw failures, investigation involvements and even runaway bosses, which cause great losses to lenders and are especially serious and notorious in China. Although there are abundant public information and data available on the Internet related to P2P platforms, challenges of multi-sourcing and heterogeneity matter. In this paper, we promote a novel deep learning model, OMNIRank, which comprehends multi-dimensional features of P2P platforms for risk quantification and produces scores for ranking. We first construct a large-scale flexible crawling framework and obtain great amounts of multi-source heterogeneous data of domestic P2P platforms since 2007 from the Internet. Purifications like duplication and noise removal, null handing, format unification and fusion are applied to improve data qualities. Then we extract deep features of P2P platforms via text comprehension, topic modeling, knowledge graph and sentiment analysis, which are delivered as inputs to OMNIRank, a deep learning model for risk quantification of P2P platforms. Finally, according to rankings generated by OMNIRank, we conduct flourish data visualizations and interactions, providing lenders with comprehensive information supports, decision suggestions and safety guarantees. Large number of high-speed mobile users in high-speed rail (HSR) and surrounding areas produce bandwidth requirements with space-time uneven distribution characteristics, which leads to the congestion and waste of bandwidth resource in wireless bearer network. And under the huge bandwidth demands of future 5G network, the congestion and low efficiency will be more severe. To meet bandwidth requirements, bearer network bandwidth capacity is provided according to the highest bandwidth demands. This results in the low utilization efficiency and an increase of access network costs. In order to solve the low bandwidth utilization problem while keeping the deployment costs at a low level, we propose a flexible fixed mobile convergence (FMC) access network architecture in which the clustered time wavelength division multiplexing passive optical networking (TWDM-PON) is introduced as a fronthaul and fixed network access bearer technology. In this architecture, optical network units (ONUs) are capable to be migrated flexibly between different optical line terminals (OLTs) to improve the bandwidth utilization of idle OLTs. Meanwhile, while taking into account the impactor of network quality - ONU switching times and transmission distance, a flexible ONU migration algorithm (OMA) is proposed to maximize bandwidth resource utilization. The simulation results show that the OMA promote the overall bandwidth resources utilization of OLTs.
