What we perceive with our senses becomes the basic real time information that directs and helps with the tasks we do. Our perception may represent the real world environment or what is perceived is a view of the real world modified with simulated elements of the environment. Augmented reality (AR) represents a system where a view of a live real physical environment is supplemented by computer-generated elements such as sound, video, graphic or location data. Development of AR systems has been facilitated by the advancement in both hardware and software technologies, making it easier to implement all functionalities in real time. Such real time enhancements have been helped by new techniques in such areas as computer vision, object recognition, and registration methodologies which enable user to interact with and manipulate the real world environment effectively. AR advanced computer graphics is integrated to real world data and viewed by the user using see-through head mounted display (HMD). This immersion of the integrated real and simulated world provides a unique perception to users. What he sees, feels, hears, and smells is indistinguishable between what is real and what is computer-generated. Technology has propelled AR systems from experimental laboratories to the marketplace demonstrating great promise in the fields of arts, architecture, archaeology, commerce, construction, education, entertainment, gaming, system maintenance, medical and military applications.

In this paper, key technologies, system proposals and future directions of next generation passive opticalnetworks stage 2 (NG-PON2) are reviewed. We first discuss the potential solutions for NG-PON2 standardization. Then we focus on time and wavelength division multiplexed PON (TWDM-PON), which is the primary solution selected by Full Service Access Network (FSAN). The key technologies in TWDM-PON configuration are analyzed, including how to improve the bandwidth capacity and power budget of the system, and choose upstream tunable transceiver, etc. Several system proposals are illustrated as candidates for NG-PON2 configuration.

We propose a pipeline structure for Schnorr-Euchner sphere decoding algorithm in this article. It divides the search tree of the original algorithm into blocks and executes the search from block to block. When one block search of a signal is over, the part in the pipeline structure that processes this block search can load another signal and search. Several signals can be processed at the same time in one pipeline. Blocks are arranged to lower the whole complexity in the way that the previously search blocks are the blocks those have more probability to generate the final solution. Simulation experiment results show the average process delay can drop to the range from 48.77% to 60.18% in a 4-by-4 antenna system with 16QAM modulation, or from 30.31% to 61.59% in a 4-by-4 antenna system with 64QAM modulation.
