We integrate the advantages of optical packet switching (OPS) network and fibre channel (FC) technology, and put forward fibre channel transportation based on optical packet switching network (FC over OPS) as a solution for next generation avionics systems internetworking. We focus our research work on the interrelation between data segments aggregation and network real-timing performance. By simulation, we analyze the impact that bandwidth, minimum efficiency threshold and timing contribute to the network real-timing. Furthermore, we complete hardware prototype design and simulation, compare the results between software and hardware simulation and analyze the performance of this algorithm.

A novel technique of optimizing chirped mirrors is proposed. Simulation demonstrates that the residual group delay dispersion ripples of two matched chirped mirrors is less than 10 fs2 over the wavelength range of 700-1050 nm and that of three matched chirped mirrors is less than 15 fs2 over the same range. These kinds of chirped mirrors have precisely controlled group delay dispersion, which plays a critical role in the generation of ultrashort pulses and compression of few-cycle to monocycle femtosecond pulses.

Aim at the problem of the communication signal blind source separation, a novel blind separation algorithm based on step size adaptation (EASIBSA) to increase the convergence rate of the separation algorithm was present by using the idea of parameter adaptation optimization, which was based on Equivariant Adaptive Separation via Independent (EASI) algorithm. This algorithm related the learning rate with the object function and adapted it by using the stochastic gradient method, which avoided the selection of optimum learning rate and speed up the convergence rate. Simulation results showed that improved algorithm could increase the convergence rate of separation algorithm by two times without affecting the separation capability.

In this paper, the security performance of M-code keying OCDMA system using shifted carrier-hopping prime codes (SCHPC) is quantitatively analyzed. The bit-correct-interception possibilities for tapping individual and multiple users' signals are calculated respectively. It is shown by simulation that the security performance of M-code keying OCDMA system using SCHPC can be slightly enhanced.

We investigate the electrical properties of the nanostructured magnetic colloid without and with magnetic field. The competition between the directional motion of the charged magnetic nanoparticles and other minor nonmagnetic impurities (also small amount of ions) under applied voltage and their random orientation due to thermal activation is implemented to elaborate the electrically conduction mechanism under zero magnetic field. Two equivalent electric circuits are employed for explaining the charging and discharging processes. The tunnelling conduction mechanism upon application of externally magnetic field may exist in the nanostructured magnetic colloid. The alternation of the two conduction mechanisms accounts for the current spikes when the magnetic field is switched on or off. This work presents the peculiar electrical phenomena of the magnetically colloidal system.

With the increasing number of internet users, more and more real-time services are added into the network, such as IPTV, online-video, Voice over IP, etc. As we know, throughput is a highly important performance criterion for scheduling algorithms of networks. Besides throughput, these growing real-time services are very sensitive to delay variance termed as jitter. Therefore, high performance scheduling algorithm should achieve good performance in terms of throughput, delay, jitter and fairness together. Scheduling algorithm with deadline-awareness employed in packet switching plays a key role in QoS guarantees. Although traditional hard-deadline can provide guarantee on in-node delay-deadline criteria, the end-to-end delay-deadline criteria cannot be guaranteed due to the characteristic of hard-deadline, while the delay-deadline guaranteed throughput is low. Thus, soft-deadline scheduling algorithm has been proposed. In this paper, we investigate and compare the classical hard-deadline and soft-deadline switching algorithm. A new scheme "Bonus system" is proposed in order to realize the idea of soft-deadline switching algorithm. Bonus system based on soft-deadline is compared with classical Early-Deadline First scheme based on hard-deadline, which shows that Bonus system has better performance in End-to-End deadline guarantee.

In this paper, a shared sub-path protection mechanism for multi-domain opticalnetworks is proposed. It divides the computed working path into several working sub-paths which span two domains. For each working sub-path, two intra-domain and an inter-domain backup sub-paths are computed to protect intra-domain and inter-domain failures. Simulation results show it has shorter failure recovery time and is resource efficient.
