The purpose of this study was to compare multiple voxel-based morphometry (VBM) approaches and analyze the whole-brain white matter (WM) changes in the unilateral temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) patients relative to controls. In our study, the performance of the VBM approaches, including standard VBM, optimized VBM and VBM-DARTEL, was evaluated via a simulation, and then these VBM approaches were applied to the real data obtained from the TLE patients and controls. The results from simulation show that VBM-DARTEL performs the best among these VBM approaches. For the real data, WM reductions were found in the ipsilateral temporal lobe, the contralateral frontal and occipital lobes, the bilateral parietal lobes, cingulated gyrus, parahippocampal gyrus and brainstem of the left-TLE patients by VBM-DARTEL, which is consistent with previous studies. Our study demonstrated that DARTEL was the most robust and reliable approach for VBM analysis.

Currently, there are several optimization algorithms for point scalar multiplication which have either high computational complexity or additional storage requirement. They are all unsuitable for further applying. In this paper, we present a new compatible optimal algorithm which improves the efficiency by generating a special random number k as the scalar. The experimental results show that the processes of encryption and decryption have been speed up significantly in the same condition.

In this paper, we provide a quantitive, large scale, temporal analysis of the dynamics of online collective behavior in a specific cyber movement on ***, and point out that particle swarm theory can be used to model and simulate the variable interactions between cyber movement participants. In this paper, a new iterative adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) algorithm is developed to solve optimal control problems for infinite-horizon discrete-time nonlinear systems with finite approximation errors. The idea is to use an iterative ADP algorithm to obtain the iterative control law that makes the iterative performance index function reach the optimum. When the iterative control law and the iterative performance index function in each iteration cannot be accurately obtained, the convergence conditions of the iterative ADP algorithm are obtained. When convergence conditions are satisfied, it is shown that the iterative performance index functions can converge to a finite neighborhood of the greatest lower bound of all performance index functions under some mild assumptions. Neural networks are used to approximate the performance index function and compute the optimal control policy, respectively, for facilitating the implementation of the iterative ADP algorithm. Finally, two simulation examples are given to illustrate the performance of the present method.

For monocular-structured light vision measurement, it is essential to calibrate the structured light plane parameters in addition to the camera intrinsic parameters. A line-feature-based calibration method of structured light plane parameters for a robot hand-eye system is proposed. Structured light stripes are selected as calibrating primitive elements, and the robot moves from one calibrating position to another with constraint in order that two misaligned stripe lines are generated. The images of stripe lines could then be captured by the camera fixed at the robot's end link. During calibration, the equations of two stripe lines in the camera coordinate system are calculated, and then the structured light plane could be determined. As the robot's motion may affect the effectiveness of calibration, so the robot's motion constraints are analyzed. A calibration experiment and two vision measurement experiments are implemented, and the results reveal that the calibration accuracy can meet the precision requirement of robot thick plate welding. Finally, analysis and discussion are provided to illustrate that the method has a high efficiency fit for industrial in-situ calibration. This paper proposes a method of hierarchical WSN deployment and routing for fast localization. Position-known anchor nodes form a static upper-layer network organization and several mobile nodes constitute the lower-layer network which need dynamic message exchange with the upper network. In the upper static network, near-optimal routing table is allocated to each anchor node based on their known-position and the strength of signal for communication during network initialization. Mobile nodes in the lower-layer can access to the upper network dynamically and at the same time report the RSSI value of nearby anchors to the control-center. At the center, the computer will calculate the real-time location of the target based on the reported RSSI and node-IDs. Algorithm presented in this paper is low cast, easy to implement and can be used for fast location estimation and motion tracking indoors and outdoors.

Video detection is one of the primary collection means of traffic states in Parallel traffic managementsystems (PtMS). In order to accurately and automatically obtain road areas in highway surveillance videos, this paper presents an automatic detection algorithm based on the frequency-domain information of video images. This algorithm uses the frequency-domain feature that is produced by the vehicles passing through road areas in videos, to realize automatic segmentation and recognition of the road areas. The experiment comparing with the traditional vehicle-tracking-based method, which uses the information in the time-space domain, illustrates the advantages of the proposed algorithm.

The vehicle queue length detection, specially based on video, is an important and practical research area of Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS). It has promising application prospect in such areas as urban traffic control, highway toll system etc. In this paper, by analyzing the video sequence obtained from the fixed-camera, the vehicle movements of each road lane, such as left turn, go straight, turn right, are detected by using telescopic virtual coil, and then the vehicle motion detection and vehicle presence detection are used to calculate the vehicle queue length. On this basis, the vehicle queue detection algorithms are improved, and their threshold values are modified in the paper correspondently. And, the DM642 platform is designed to implement the real-time detection of vehicle queue length on the crossroads. Application experiments prove that the solution can detect the vehicle queue length with high precision, and the detection results meet the accuracy and stability requirements of practical application.

At present, the problems of urban traffic management and control have not yet been well solved, due to the great complexity of urban transportation systems. In this context, artificial transportation systems (ATS) theory was presented several years ago, and has been verified to be a promising approach to better management and control of complex transportation systems. On the basis of summarizing the research works on ATS to date, this paper systematically introduces the concept, theory frame and methods of ATS;meanwhile, the corresponding literatures are also reviewed. Then, as a major application approach of ATS, the parallel system theory is briefly introduced, and the major case studies of applying ATS are also reviewed. Finally, we analyze the current state-of-the-art of ATS, and point out the main research directions.
