This paper first reviewed the driver or driving models used in traffic simulation that were created mainly for generating the required mobility. Some commonly used models and the stateof- the-art technologies were discussed. In order to better study the effect of human driver on the transportation system, this paper introduced several other typical driver models and the related technologies that were developed for the purposes of studies on vehicle dynamics and controls during last decades. These models not only perform the tasks in generating the required mobility with better fidelity and flexibility for traffic simulation, but also provide more insight on the physics of drivers;driving nature and characteristics. Further research was suggested in the modeling of drivers;personal driving characteristics, in particular, drivers;habitual driving styles. These can be very valuable and important in the design and study of the modern transportation systems with vehicle-driver-environment taken into consideration.

During long-time operation, thermal deformation of heat exchange pipe weaken the capability and reduce the reliability of heat transfer system, especially the heat exchange pipe with initial bending in high temperature storage condition will make problem more seriously. The finite element simulation study based on ABAQUS code was carried out to explore thermal deformation behavior of heat exchange pipe and interaction between pipe-soil interfaces, through establishing the typical initial bending model of pipe body and the description of the basic equations The distribution law of effective stress, displacement and plastic strain at feature edges and the cross section were obtained. The result showed that value of effective stress, displacement and plastic strain distribution of soil are cyclical fluctuation change with different bending deflection and bending direction, the location of maximum bending deflection is the most serious heat transfer attenuation areas. © the authors.

Thermal deformation of heat exchange pipe is the significant source of structural variation in ground heat exchange system, which could weaken the capability and reduce the reliability of heat transfer system after long-time operation. The experimental study of thermal deformation of heat exchange pipe should be carried out to explore its thermal behavior. The strain measuring method was applied to the study on thermal deformation and displacement, which was deduced from the measured strain in heat exchange pipe. The verifying experiment was carried out to analyse its feasibility in preliminary simulation environment. The result showed that strain measuring method is applicable and could be conducive to the deformation monitoring of heat exchange pipe in practical projects. © the authors.

This paper presents an overall concept and framework of a driver model with the intent to generate realistic traffic flow and motion while reflecting the nature of driving characteristics. The proposed driver model simulates a driver's driving on the road with proper trajectory planning mechanism that takes into account the surrounding environment, including lane and road geometry, surrounding obstacles, and traffic infrastructure;and a decision making process that "mentally" assesses the situation for potential hazards or threats;"obeys" traffic rules, and determines an optimum trajectory to follow safely and comfortably. The concept and framework presented in this paper is demonstrated through simulation.

A framework was presented, which could rapidly establish the basic packaging scheme of cab and corresponding design tools by simulating the main driving postures. The factors need to be considered in the simulation are analyzed, as well as cab packaging parameters. With reference to the joint probability distribution of multidimensional anthropometry variables, Monte Carlo simulation was used to generate sample populations for each gender respectively using the 1988 ANSUR database. Drivers' main postures were simulated currently using UMTRI's CPM model, which acquired the distributions of body characteristic points of driver populations. The theories for establishing the cab basic packaging scheme and corresponding design tools based on the distributions of body characteristic points of driver populations were studied. With the simulation using two real cars' packaging parameters, the results showed good accordance with those calculated according to SAE recommend practices. © 2011 IEEE.

FlexRay is a high-speed communication protocol with high flexibility and *** the FlexRay communication controller was designed in this research with bus guardian protocol specification using specification and description language (SDL).Based on SDL design principle,the communication controller of FlexRay system and the protocol operation controller of Bus Guardian system were used to design an integrated protocol operation ***,the system was redesigned using Verilog *** FlexRay system was synthesized by Samsung 0.35 um *** proposed chip contains FlexRay communication controller,Bus Guardian and Bus Driver *** is shown through the simulation that the designed system can operate in the frequency range up to 77 MHz.

Taking the vehicle's handling and stability performance targets as research object, the theory of multi-variate statistical analysis was used to find the relationship of the targets each other. Several new handling targets are rebuilt sorted by their importance based on the idea of decreasing dimension, and then the vehicle's handling centesimal system score was get by the objective weighting method. The results show that it's available to evaluate the vehicle's handling performance using fewer targets and the weighting score.

Large-scale natural or man-made disasters have the potential to cause great loss of life, human injury and extreme property damage. Evacuation from areas at risk is often one of the most feasible strategies that can be undertaken in response to these types of disasters. Evacuating a large population in the shortest possible time is an extremely complicated and difficult task, which urgently needs to look for ways to control the evacuation traffic flow efficiently and effectively in real-time. This paper, on the foundation of adaptive control theory, puts forward a traffic adaptive control framework for real time large-scale emergency evacuation, the characteristic of which integrates a method of prescriptive reference model and the adaptive control system. The prescriptive reference model is applied to specify, in a short-term and rolling-horizon manner, the desired traffic states, which serves as a reference point for the adaptive control. And the adaptive control system combines these desired states and the current prevailing traffic conditions collected by the sensing system to produce real time traffic control schemes. These traffic control schemes are implemented in the field to guide the real world traffic flow to evolve towards the desired states. © 2010 IEEE.
