Accurate prediction of the adhesion coefficient parameters of the road ahead is critical to the driving safety of intelligent driving vehicles, however, the current stage of raw image-based methods are difficult to achieve high-precision and reliable prediction due to the complexity of the elements within the scene. To this end, a road adhesion coefficient recognition algorithm inspired by semantic segmentation is proposed. The method designs a sequential prediction algorithm structure that includes semantic segmentation, road surface extraction, road surface recognition, and adhesion coefficient mapping. Additionally, the method introduces the spatial attention mechanism and channel attention mechanism separately into the semantic segmentation network and road surface classification network, effectively enhancing the accuracy and real-time performance of the adhesion coefficient prediction algorithm. Experimental results illustrate that this real-time adhesion coefficient prediction algorithm achieves good performance in maintaining accuracy, real-time capability, and robustness. It can accurately and rapidly predict road surface adhesion information in driving scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.

The range of electric vehicles is a key concern of users, and there is still a certain gap between the current actual mileage and the prediction results, so it is of great significance to study whether the prediction method obtained under one standard working condition can be applied to other working conditions. This paper takes the data tested under different working conditions as the basic sample, divides the EV driving data into a number of kinematic segments, and proposes a method to evaluate the energy consumption of EVs by taking into account the relevant factors affecting the energy consumption of electric vehicles during the driving process. The results show that the independent energy consumption features obtained by the method proposed in this paper can characterize the energy consumption of electric vehicles under different driving conditions. Therefore, the method proposed in this paper provides a basis for a possible alternative mechanism for expanding the scope of EV energy consumption assessment. © 2023 IEEE.

To investigate the interplay between driver handling behaviors, this article collects data on vehicle kinematic parameters characterizing driver handling characteristics under natural driving, estimates the probability density curves of the parameters using the kernel density method, and fits the curve equations. On this basis, a percentile correlation analysis was performed between the parameters to obtain the influence relationship between the handling behaviors. The results show that longitudinal maneuvers are frequent and intense in the 0-10 km/h speed range, lateral maneuvers are more intense in the 10-30 km/h speed range, and the interaction between longitudinal and lateral maneuvers is more intense in the acceleration phase. This study enriches the natural driving dataset and illustrates the correlation of driving behavior under natural driving, providing a theoretical and data basis for the development of driver-oriented intelligent driving technologies. © 2023 SAE International. Tracking control on roads of autonomous and connected flying automobiles (ACFA), is critical for safety, particularly in emergencies. In these situations, the ACFA must either generate its trajectory in real-time (for instance, to execute an evasive maneuver if an obstacle is detected) or obtain trajectory data from external sources. Generally, the ACFA receives this trajectory information as GPS time samples. However, the feedback control scheme must compensate for the ACFA's lateral speed data, which is not directly accessible. In this paper, we propose a dual-mode approach to design a tracking control scheme for an ACFA, which is achieved through three steps: (1) Using limited preview information from GPS waypoint samples, we calculate the trajectory's radii of curvature with 'least-square' estimation, (2)we design a linear model predictive control(MPC) with Kalman filter (KF) for high tracking performance, and(3) When high-level control fails, by using errors as the position, heading, and heading rate we design a feedback control strategy with a fixed structure to track the desired trajectory by calculating stabilizing gains. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is demonstrated through virtual simulation results. © 2024 IEEE.

To improve the ride comfort and safety of a traditional adaptive cruise control(ACC)system when the preceding vehicle changes lanes,it proposes a target vehicle selection algorithm based on the prediction of the lane-changing intention for the preceding ***,the Next Generation simulation dataset is used to train a lane-changing intention prediction algorithm based on a sliding window support vector machine,and the lane-changing intention of the preceding vehicle in the current lane is identified by lateral position ***,according to the lane-changing intention and collision threat of the preceding vehicle,the target vehicle selection algorithm is studied under three different conditions:safe lane-changing,dangerous lane-changing,and lane-changing ***,the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified in a co-simulation *** simulation results show that the target vehicle selection algorithm can ensure the smooth transfer of the target vehicle and effectively reduce the longitudinal acceleration fluctuation of the subject vehicle when the preceding vehicle changes lanes safely or cancels their lane change *** the case of a dangerous lane change,the target vehicle selection algorithm proposed in this paper can respond more rapidly to a dangerous lane change than the target vehicle selection method of the traditional ACC system;thus,it can effectively avoid collisions and improve the safety of the subject vehicle.

To overcome the problems of the low power/weight ratio of traditional servo motors, complex transmission systems, and large space occupied by hydraulic drive systems, this paper designs a bidirectional torsional actuator using the shape memory effect of Ti-Ni shape memory alloy (SMA) wire, which aims to realize the folding and unfolding of the wings of flying cars. The model of the designed actuator was established and the theoretical calculation was analyzed, based on which the experimental verification was carried out. It is found that when the heating current is 1.6 A, the mechanism can take into account the economy under the premise of meeting a certain folding speed. When the pre-stretching amount of SMA wire is 3%, the residual strain corresponding to the wire is small, about 0.577%, and it can provide driving torque and torsion angle to meet the design requirements of the actuator. This verifies the feasibility of the actuator and obtains the driving characteristics of the actuator. Finally, the shortcomings and improvement measures of the actuator are analyzed briefly. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Wheel slip ratio, yaw rate, and side-slip angle are commonly considered as the control indices of longitudinal and lateral vehicle stabilities [1]. However, if systems that only contain vehicle dynamics in longitudinal or lateral directions work simultaneously, the system objectives may conflict.

To enhance the safety and comfort of driving at night, high-definition warning/interactive ICONS will be projected on the ground in conjunction with the ADAS Advanced Driver Assistance system to alert nearby pedestrians and drivers. To solve the problem of trapezoidal distortion caused by automobile headlights when projecting high-definition warning/interactive ICONS and pictures to the ground, firstly, the ground lighting area is connected with the luminous array according to the light field model established in the previous chapter, and then the corresponding luminous array corresponds to the coordinate value of the image pixel point to realize the coordinate reconstruction. Then, after the bilinear interpolation, the luminance value of the image pixel is assigned to the corresponding luminescent array coordinate, and the image is projected to the ground without distortion. Finally, the experimental system test platform was built to verify the method. © 2023 IEEE.

To solve the wall-wetting problem in internal combustion engines,the physical and chemical etching methods are used to prepare different wettability surfaces with various *** evaporation characteristics and morphological evolution processes of diesel and n-butanol droplets after hitting the various surfaces are *** results show that the surface microstructures increase the surface roughness(Ra),enhancing the oleophilic property of the oleophilic *** with n-butanol droplets,the same surface shows stronger oleophobicity to diesel *** a droplet hits an oleophilic property surface with a lower temperature,the stronger the oleophilicity,the shorter the evaporation *** oleophilic surfaces,larger Ra leads to a higher Leidenfrost temperature(TLeid).The low TLeid caused by enhanced oleophobicity,dense microstructures and increased convex dome height facilitates droplet rebound and promotes the evaporation of the wall-impinging droplets into the *** evaporation rate of the droplets is not only related to the characteristics of the solid surfaces and the fuel droplets but also affected by the heat transfer rate to the droplets in different boiling *** spreading diameter of a droplet on an oleophobic surface varies significantly less with time than that on an oleophilic surface under the same surface temperature.

Aiming at the problems of chemical pollution and the inability to reuse the initiation method adopted by the traditional hood pop-up mechanism, a new hood pop-up mechanism that uses shape memory alloy (SMA) as the trigger power element is proposed to realize the improvement of the hood pop-up mechanism. High-speed triggering and reversible recovery, the mechanism is simple in structure, quick in response, and can be manually recovered after being bounced, which can be adapted to various car models. After the sensor is triggered, the supercapacitor heated the SMA element to drive it at a high speed. The locking mechanism is activated to release the energy stored in the spring, and the engine hood is lifted and limited after reaching a certain height. After the design of the engine hood lifting mechanism and the determination of parameters, the spring stiffness that meets the pedestrian protection requirements is determined to be 11000N/m by the numerical simulation method. Dynamics modeling and simulation were carried out to study the influence of different parameters on the bouncing response. Experimental results show that when the spring stiffness increases from 2000N/m to 5000N/m, the release time decreases from 19ms to 12ms, and the time needed to spring up to 100mm height decreases from 136mm to 84mm. The response speed of the spring mechanism is accelerated, which is consistent with the simulation results. © 2023 SPIE.
