The current research of master cylinder pressure estimation mainly relies on hydraulic characteristic or vehicle *** they are not independently applicable to any environment and have their own scope of *** addition,about the master cylinder pressure control,there are few studies that can simultaneously balance pressure building accuracy,speed,and prevent pressure overshoot and *** this paper,an adaptative fusion method based on electro-hydraulic characteristic and vehicle mode is proposed to estimate the master cylinder *** fusion strategy is mainly based on the prediction performance of two algorithms under different vehicle speeds,pressures,and ABS *** from this,this article also includes real-time prediction of the friction model based on RLS to improve the accuracy of the electro-hydraulic *** order to simultaneously balance pressure control accuracy,response speed,and prevent overshoot and jitter,this article proposes an adaptative LQR controller for MC pressure control which uses fuzzy-logic controller to adjust the weights of LQR controller based on target pressure and difference compared with actual *** mode-in-loop and hardware-in-loop tests in ramp,step and sinusoidal response,the whole estimation and control system is verified based on real hydraulic system and the performance is satisfactory under these *** research proposes an adaptative pressure estimation and control architecture for integrated electro-hydraulic brake system which could eliminate pressure sensors in typical scenarios and ensure the comprehensive performance of pressure control.

Due to the imperfect fuel characteristics, the specific fuel consumption of ethanol fuel was larger than that of gasoline, which limited the application of ethanol fuel in the engine field. H2O2 is a strong activity additive to regulate fuel properties. In this paper, the Converge simulation platform was used to study the effects of H2O2 additive on temperature field distribution and micro-active radicals of an SI combined injection engine fueled by ethanol/gasoline under the stratification and homogeneous combustion. The research results showed that the H2O2 additive could effectively promote flame core formation and development and have a more significant effect on the stratification combustion. Considering the whole power stroke, the combustion of the homogeneous mixture was more complete, the active groups were more, the heat loss was less, and the output power of the engine was greater. In general, 20% H2O2 additive plus DIT = 300°CA BTDC could contribute to the power and ultra-low emissions of the engine. © 2025 SPIE.

state of health (SOH) estimation is essential to ensure safety and reliability in the operation of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs). The aging of fuel cells results from the deterioration of multiple internal components, and the aging degree of some key components even directly determines the end of cell life. Due to the complexity of the internal reactions in fuel cell, many internal parameters cannot be measured or recorded during aging tests. In addition, external characteristics do not reflect the internal changes in the cell. Therefore, establishing a multi-scale metric based on fuel cell components is very important for fuel cell life research. During the aging process of a fuel cell, the contributions of different components to the overall aging vary significantly. Additionally, the allocation of indicator parameters presents a challenge in multi-scale modeling. To address these issues, this paper proposes a method to construct multi-scale indicators for fuel cells. Firstly, based on the operational mechanisms of fuel cells, a 3-D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model of the fuel cell is developed using COMSOL Multiphysics 6.2 to simulate the working environment of the fuel cell. In addition, based on existing research, the aging mechanisms of various fuel cell components are analyzed, and aging models are established. The aging of selected components is then simulated in MATlab R2023a based on the component aging mechanism model. Moreover, a co-simulation platform based on COMSOL and MATlab is established to facilitate parameter interaction and iteration between the two models, thereby obtaining the aging data of the cell. Finally, the data is analyzed to select parameters and allocate coefficients for the multi-scale aging indicators. The multi-scale aging indicator can provide an effective approach to characterizing the aging state of fuel cells. © 2025 SAE International.

To advance the application of zero-carbon ammonia fuel, this paper presents an experimental investigation on the potential of ammonia substitution using a 2.0L ammonia-hydrogen engine, where ammonia is injected into the intake port and hydrogen is directly injected into the cylinder. The study examines the effects of ammonia substitution rate under various load conditions on engine combustion and emission performance. Results indicate that the maximum ammonia energy substitution rate reached 98%, and within the stable combustion boundary, the mass fraction of unburned ammonia was less than 3%. The ammonia energy substitution ratio increased with load, and ammonia addition significantly suppressed pre-ignition and knocking. As ammonia content increased, ignition timing advanced, combustion duration extended, ignition delay prolonged, COV increased, peak cylinder pressure, and pressure rise rate decreased, with a corresponding decrease in peak heat release rate. Compared to a pure hydrogen engine, the ammonia-hydrogen dual-fuel engine significantly improved brake thermal efficiency (BTE), which continued to rise with increasing ammonia energy substitution rate. At BMEP = 0.8 MPa, BTE reached a maximum of 41.1%. With increased ammonia addition, unburned NH3 emissions in the exhaust gradually increased, while NOx emissions decreased overall, but N2O emissions showed an increasing trend. © 2025 SAE International.

Strain effects have garnered significant attention in catalytic applications due to their ability to modulate the electronic structure and surface adsorption properties of *** this study,we propose a novel approach called“similar stacking”for stress modulation,achieved through the loading of Co_(2)P on Ni_(2)P(Ni_(2)P/Co_(2)P).Theoretical simulations reveal that the compressive strain induced by Co_(2)P influences orbital overlap and electron transfer with hydrogen ***,the number of stacked layers can be adjusted by varying the precursor soaking time,which further modulates the strain range and hydrogen *** a 2-h soaking condition,the strain effect proves favorable for efficient hydrogen *** characterizations using X-ray diffraction,high-angel annular dark-field scanning transmission election microscope(HAADF-STEM),and X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectroscopy successfully demonstrate lattice contraction of Co_(2)P and bond length shortening of ***,our catalyst shows an ultrahigh current density of 1 A cm^(-2) at an overpotential of only 388 mV,surpassing that of commercial Pt/C,while maintaining long-term *** material design strategy of similar stacking opens up new avenues of strain modulation and the deeper development of electrocatalysts.

Research on the Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Sensitive Factors of Gasoline Engine Using a Support Vector Machine Coupling Sobol Method

With the increasing prominence of energy and environmental issues, research in the field of internal combustion engines is becoming more and more refined. Engines are affected by the coupling of many factors, and it is necessary to decouple and quantify the impact of inputs on the objectives. In this paper, the effect of engine configuration parameters, operating conditions, and fuel parameters on fuel efficiency and emissions was investigated based on a support vector machine coupling Sobol method. The results of Sobol sensitivity analysis show that the most sensitive parameters for both brake specific fuel consumption and carbon monoxide emission are excess air ratio, total hydrocarbon emission and nitrogen oxides emission, engine load, and intake pressure; the first-order indices are 0.72, 0.27, 0.17, and 0.20, respectively. The most sensitive combustion parameters are maximum pressure in the cylinder, indicated mean effective pressure, maximum temperature in the cylinder, and high-temperature range, and the first-order indices are 0.40, 0.25, 0.39, and 0.57, respectively. It can be summarized through all the Sobol indices that, on the one hand, some input parameters, such as excess air ratio, affect fuel efficiency and emissions through the combustion process and, on the other hand, such as oxygen mass fraction directly affects carbon monoxide emission and total hydrocarbon emission by affecting the oxygen concentration in the cylinder. Sensitivity analysis based on the Sobol method coupling support vector machine was proved to be feasible and will provide valuable guidance for the optimization of internal combustion engines.

Modeling lane-changing spatiotemporal features based on the driving behavior generation mechanism of human drivers

Accurate lane-changing (LC) modeling is important to realizing human-like LC in intelligent vehicles (IVs). The LC behavior of human drivers is often determined by LC spatiotemporal features such as the target lane, LC starting point, duration, target position and velocity. Therefore, to accurately reproduce the LC behaviors of drivers, this paper proposes an LC spatiotemporal feature model (LSFM) based on the driving behavior generation mechanism. First, we consider the generation of LC behaviors of human drivers as a Markov decision process and establish the framework of the LSFM by semantically deconstructing the LC behavior generation mechanism. Then, the cognitive and behavioral characteristics of drivers are described through human-like reward functions. Furthermore, the selection of actions of the LSFM is converted to the selection of LC spatiotemporal features by establishing the expected trajectory space according to spatiotemporal features. The expected trajectory space is resized and pruned based on statistics and safety constraints. Thus, the sampling efficiency and safety of the LSFM are improved. Finally, the human-like reward function weights are recovered from High D by maximum entropy inverse reinforcement learning. In addition, the LSFM divides LC into anticipation and relaxation, for which it designs different reward functions and expected trajectory spaces, which further improves the modeling accuracy. The verification results on the naturalistic driving data show that the LSFM can more accurately model LC spatiotemporal features than current models, and it has good generalizability to provide important support for human-like LC in IVs. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Analysis of heat and cooling characteristics of hub motors in electric vehicles

In consideration of the thermal issues associated with the electric vehicle hub motor operating at high temperatures, a comprehensive analysis was conducted by integrating heat transfer theory and fluid dynamics. This involved simulating and scrutinizing the temperature elevation and heat dissipation characteristics of the motor across distinct operational scenarios and cooling methodologies using finite element simulation. By aligning these simulations with experimental data, the temperature distribution pattern within the motor operating under low-speed flat road conditions and overloaded hill-climbing conditions was determined. Moreover, the impact of various cooling mechanisms on the motor's heat dissipation characteristics was assessed. Subsequent examination of cooling system parameters and cooling medium facilitated the identification of an optimized cooling system structure. The findings highlighted substantial variations in radial temperature distribution under different operational conditions and cooling techniques, while axial temperature distribution variances were minimal. Notably, due to the air gap barrier effect, specific motor regions exhibited pronounced temperature concentration;the stator and winding zones were characterized by high temperatures, whereas the rotor and motor casing areas remained comparatively cooler. Under low-speed operating conditions, the hub motor demonstrated minimal temperature increases. Conversely, during overload scenarios, the motor exhibited elevated heat dissipation demands surpassing the capacity of natural air cooling. Comparative analysis indicated that circulating water cooling outperformed natural air cooling, yielding a more uniform temperature distribution across the motor and satisfying performance criteria. The study recommended an optimal configuration of 22 waterways, providing essential insights for the future design of an enhanced cooling system structure. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd
