The paper proposes faulted feeder selector in power distribution system with neutral non-effectively grounded. At first, the paper presents basic principle of single-phase-to-ground fault feeder selection based on traveling waves, which compares amplitude and polarity of the initial current traveling waves in all feeders. Then the implementation scheme, including hardware design and software flowchart is presented. At last field application of faulted feeder selector is introduced. The field operation results validated the correctness of faulted feeder selector based on transient traveling wave.

As an important equipment, convertor transformer plays a crucial role in ultra high voltage direct current (UHVDC). How to improve the safety running level of convertor transformers is a key problem to be solved imminently. Compared with AC power transformers, the valve side windings of convertor transformers will endure combined AC-DC voltage. In these conditions, the gas generation characteristics in oil for convertor transformers will be more complicated. In this paper, according to the operational principle of convertor transformers, the ratios between AC and DC voltage on valve side windings in the star connection and triangular connection were 77.1% and 83.7% respectively. Based on the above results, 65 kV peak voltages in 5 different AC and DC voltage forms were applied to the needle-plate electrode model for 2 hours. The discharge current and voltage waveforms were recorded and the arc current pulses had a short lasting time about 1.2 ms. Then the mean discharge energy was calculated at 0.1 to 0.3 J. At the same time, the gas generation characteristics under combined AC-DC voltage were obtained by using the gas chromatographic analysis method. The variations of amounts and generation rates of characteristic gases were measured with time during 2 hours, which provided fault judgment criterions and experimental experience. The experimental results showed that the amounts and generation rates of H2, C2H2 and total hydrocarbon under the pure DC voltage or combined AC-DC voltage were more than those under the pure AC voltage. It might illustrate the fact that effects of different voltage forms would lead to different gas generation characteristics could not be ignored.

This paper presents an adaptive sliding mode controller for the system of flexible load driven by motors with the damping and friction considered. The controller comprised the sliding mode controller and the Kalman estimator. Firstly, the parameter uncertainties and disturbance are modeled with a bounded variable and then an integral sliding surface is designed. Then, to relax the requirement for the bound of uncertainties, a Kalman state estimator is proposed to estimate the bound of uncertainties and the unmeasurable states. With the proposed control structure, the vibration caused by the flexibility can be suppressed and besides, the controller is robust to a wide range of parameter uncertainty and disturbance. The performance of the control strategy is verified via simulation and experimental results.

Trust is a critical issue in the field of human-vehicle interaction. In order to improve the efficiency of co-driving system while ensuring the safety and comfort of autonomous vehicles (AVs), a dynamic model of quantitative trust level is proposed and applied to propose a trust-based trajectory tracking control of human-vehicle cooperating system. In this paper, three key contributions have been made: 1) the evolution mechanism of trust in shared steering control is studied and a quantitative trust model is established for the first time by constructing the deviation between actual performance and driver’s driving expectations in real-time;2) an improved model-free adaptive dynamic programming (MF-ADP) method is applied to describe the steering operations of AVs which can adjust its control policy on the basis of evaluated trust value through an adaptive weighing matrix in the cost function;3) a novel trust-based authority allocation policy is proposed in this work to dynamically assign control proportion between the driver and the autonomous driving system based on real-time trust level, aiming to enhance human-vehicle collaboration. High-fidelity Carsim-Simulink co-simulations are conducted under various velocity conditions to validate the rationality and effectiveness of proposed trust model and shared steering control policy. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid penetration of electrification, communication, and computer technologies into the transportation sector, conventional transportation system is undergoing important revolution, and the corresponding standard system is also facing huge challenges. In this paper, a method to evaluate the adaptability of current IEC standards facing the future sustainable transportation is proposed. Use cases related to future sustainable transportation were collected first, then all the collected use cases are evaluated and ranked. Important use cases are analyzed and recommendations to the current standardization system can be obtained. Two important use cases: coordinated charging and battery-powered tram are given as examples to show the results of the proposed method.

Integrated Energy System (IES), which plays a vital role in the development of Energy Internet (EI), can improve the efficiency of energy utilization and integration of renewable energy. However, the coupling between multiple energy systems will bring new challenges to the security control of the IES, such as combined heat and power (CHP) system. For IES, the preventive control is the first line of defense to ensure that the system can keep stable operation when contingencies such as the transmission outage or generator outage happen. This paper proposes a preventive control approach for CHP system, in which a day-ahead security constrained economic dispatch (SCED) model of CHP system considering the coupling of heat and electric is formulated. The model aims to minimize the cost of the whole system, while the preventive control of the system can be achieved with the constraints considering the normal states and contingencies states. Case studies based on the IEEE 9-bus system with CHPs are presented to illustrate the approach. The case result shows that the combined electric and heat optimal dispatch is more economical than when two systems are independently optimized and operated. And the proposed preventive control approach of the CHP system can satisfy both the electric and heat demand, and system security is ensured when the N-1 contingencies happened.

Evaluation of Real-World Emissions of China V Heavy-Duty Vehicles Fuelled by Diesel, Cng and Lng on Various Road Types

Natural gas has been widely considered as an alternative fuel to diesel on heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs). To evaluate the real-world emissions, 19 diesel HDVs, 3 CNG HDVs and 9 LNG HDVs were tested using portable emission measurement system on urban, suburban and freeway roads . The results show that Average emission rates of CO, HC and NOx from diesel, CNG and LNG HDVs tend to rise with the increasing of VSP. Due to higher combustion temperature and complicated driving cycle, NOx reduction rates of real-world emission factors are lower than those of the corresponding limits from China II to China V diesel HDVs. CO and NOx emission factors from all tested HDVs on urban road are generally higher than those on suburban road in the same velocity intervals, which means driving behaviors on different road types have great influence on emission factors in the same velocity intervals. NOx emission factors from LNG HDVs are higher than those from diesel HDVs, indicating that using China V LNG HDVs instead of China V diesel HDVs could not be an ideal alternative on freeway transportation. As CO and NOx comprehensive emission factors from China V CNG HDVs are higher than those from China V diesel, even higher than China IV diesel HDVs, China V CNG HDVs are unable to be considered as cleaner vehicles when compared to China V diesel HDVs in the study. It is noticeable that HC emission factors from CNG and LNG HDVs are extremely higher compare with diesel HDVS. NO 2 emission factors from LNG HDVs are 2.14-9.19 and 4.74-8.53 times than those from diesel and CNG HDVs with various road types. Our study can provide development roadmap for different fuel types of HDVs and the reference for new emission legislation of HDVs. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

According to the demand of 126kV intelligent switch with intelligent operative box, an intelligent terminal device by using cooperation control of embedded CPU (STM32F103ZET6 ARM) and Field Programmable Gates (Cyclone II EP2C8Q208C8 FPGA), which is up to the IEC61850 standard, is designed in this paper. Research program of the device is discussed. Starting from the modularization structure design, function of each module, circuit design and implementation method were introduced in detail. A hardware platform was established according to the design. Finally, the article confirmed the correctness of the hardware platform primarily through experimental method.

The paper mainly focuses on the communication problem based on IEC61850 communication protocol. As in the process level communication system: MU (Merging Unit)-Switch-DIPC (Digital Integrated Protection and control system), the stability of SMV packets transmission is very important. The transmission delay of the process level communication is the key problem that may restrict the protection algorithm and capability. In the meantime, GPS synchronization problem of MUs, protection capability of the integrated protection device and stability of SMV message transmission based on the existing DIPC(DIP-01) system will also be discussed in the paper. Through the experiment and analysis, the paper gives out the key factors that lead to the message transmission delay and packets loss. The work at last gives out some primary ideas to improve the protection capability.
