Modifying the equivalent rotor resistivity with rotor end factor in 2-dimension(2-D)finite element analysis(FEA)is an effective way to analyze the 3-dimension(3-D)solid rotor *** the smooth solid rotor,five different rotor end factors are discussed and compared with each *** is theoretically clarified that the resistivity of rotor in 2-D FEA should be multiplied by the square of rotor end factors to take the 3-D end effect of solid rotor into *** the slitted solid rotor,an improved rotor end factor is proposed based on the equivalent area algorithm of eddy currents in rotor,since the end factors of smooth solid rotor are not ***,the time-harmonic finite element method(FEM)combined with the rotor end factor is applied to analyze the performance of solid rotor induction *** tested and computed results are in good agreement,which proves the effectiveness of rotor end factor for the simplication of 3-D solid rotor problems.

Under intense environmental pressure, the global energy sector is promoting the integration of renewable energy into interconnected energy systems. The demand-side management (DSM) of energy systems has drawn considerable industrial and academic attention in attempts to form new flexibilities to respond to variations in renewable energy inputs to the system. However, many DSM concepts are still in the experimental demonstration phase. One of the obstacles to DSM usage is that the current information infrastructure was mainly designed for centralized systems, and does not meet DSM requirements. To overcome this barrier, this paper proposes a novel information infrastructure named the lnternet of Energy Things (IoET) in order to make DSM practicable by basing it on the latest wireless communication technology: the low-power wide-area network (LPWAN). The primary advantage of LPWAN over general packet radio service (GPRS) and area Internet of Things (loT) is its wide-area coverage, which comes with minimum power consumption and maintenance costs. Against this background, this paper briefly reviews the representative LPWAN tech- nologies of narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and Long Range (LORa) technology, and compares them with GPRS and area IoT technology. Next, a wireless-to-cloud architecture is proposed for the IoET, based on the main technical features of LPWAN. Finally, this paper looks forward to the potential of IoET in various DSM application scenarios.

Integrated Energy system (IES), which plays a vital role in the development of Energy Internet (EI), can improve the efficiency of energy utilization and integration of renewable energy. However, the coupling between multiple energy systems will bring new challenges to the security control of the IES, such as combined heat and power (CHP) system. For IES, the preventive control is the first line of defense to ensure that the system can keep stable operation when contingencies such as the transmission outage or generator outage happen. This paper proposes a preventive control approach for CHP system, in which a day-ahead security constrained economic dispatch (SCED) model of CHP system considering the coupling of heat and electric is formulated. The model aims to minimize the cost of the whole system, while the preventive control of the system can be achieved with the constraints considering the normal states and contingencies states. Case studies based on the IEEE 9-bus system with CHPs are presented to illustrate the approach. The case result shows that the combined electric and heat optimal dispatch is more economical than when two systems are independently optimized and operated. And the proposed preventive control approach of the CHP system can satisfy both the electric and heat demand, and system security is ensured when the N-1 contingencies happened.
