With the development of science and technology, the hardware and software design of transformer intelligent measurement and control terminal is very important. Based on the hardware and software appization of internet of things, the design scheme of hardware and software structure is given. Supported by high-performance operating system, the terminal device can be upgraded flexibly through APP application software. The intelligent terminal pair can realize full data collection, full control and full fusion, and real-time exchange of key operation data with the power distribution master station. The intelligent terminal can support 5G communication and realize full compatibility of communication conditions downward.

Dual-rotor system is an important rotor form in rotating machinery like gas turbine engine. Its complex structure results in rich dynamical behaviors and more probability to failure. The modeling and simulation of the dual-rotor system can help to understand its dynamic characteristics and provide theoretical support for the design, operation and maintenance. In this paper, a dynamic model of a dual-rotor system with multiple rotor faults is established. The dual-rotor vibration model without any fault is built by finite element method, where the two shafts are connected by an inter-shaft bearing and nonlinear models of rolling element bearing and squeeze film damper are considered. The numerical integration method of Newmark-β is used to obtain the steady-state vibration response of the system. Then rotor faults are introduced to the system model, including unbalance, misalignment, looseness and rub-impact. The steady-state responses of single faults in the dual-rotor system are analyzed and typical fault features are obtained. Then coupling characteristics between different rotor faults, and the influences of the squeeze film dampers on the dynamic characteristics and fault features of the system are studied. © 2018 Proceedings of the 9th International Symposium on Imprecise Probability.

With the increasing proportion of renewable energy generation into the power grid, more challenges are coming to the safe and stable operation of the power system. In order to keep the balance in energy market, system operator has to purchase much service in ancillary service market to guarantee the stable operation of the power transmission. Virtual power plant (VPP) has been extensively studied as a concept that aggregates multiple resource forms to serve the electricity market. Meanwhile, with the development of Energy Internet (EI) Error! Reference source not found., more attention has been focused on the optimization and operation of Integrated Energy system (IES), therefore, the introduction and exploration of Multi-energy Virtual power Plant (MVPP) provide possibilities for IES to participate in the Electricity Market and Ancillary Services Market. This paper extracts the flexible electric and heat load in the industrial production process, combining the CHP units and Electric Boiler (EB), which are main heat energy supply devices as well as Energy Storage system (ESS) as a MVPP to provide Frequency Regulation (FR) service to the Auxiliary Service Market. Model Predictive control (MPC) method is applied to control the industrial load, the operation of CHP, EB and ESS are gonging to follow the AGC signal issued by the FR market effectively while avoiding impacts on the production process of the factory. Finally, case study validates the effectiveness of the model. © 2018 Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.

The lack of analytical mechanism of continuous commutation failure (CCF) process hinders the development of CCF early warning algorithm and further obstructs the coordination strategy of relay protection between AC and DC size in hybrid grid. However, summarizing the protection threshold of CCF in the form of electrical quantity analytically under different fault types is a nontrivial pattern recognition problem. To overcome the difficulty of directly analysing the electromagnetic process of CCF, a statistical learning modelling approach is adapted to propose a CCF warning system, in which XGBoost algorithm was used as the backbone to regress on the relationship between AC/DC electrical quantities and the possibility of the occurrence of CCF. The design of the feature vector in XGBoost-based classifier considers not only the analytical expression of key electrical quantity during single commutation failure but also the important state variable of control system. Additionally, a special data windowing method was proposed to enrich of information encoded by the feature vector while ensuring the speed requirement posed by the protection system. Validation on multi-fault scenes simulation shows that the proposed early warning system can trigger warning signal correctly with sufficiently small measured data required, proving the practicability in engineering practice.

Integrated Energy system (IES), which plays a vital role in the development of Energy Internet (EI), can improve the efficiency of energy utilization and integration of renewable energy. However, the coupling between multiple energy systems will bring new challenges to the security control of the IES, such as combined heat and power (CHP) system. For IES, the preventive control is the first line of defense to ensure that the system can keep stable operation when contingencies such as the transmission outage or generator outage happen. This paper proposes a preventive control approach for CHP system, in which a day-ahead security constrained economic dispatch (SCED) model of CHP system considering the coupling of heat and electric is formulated. The model aims to minimize the cost of the whole system, while the preventive control of the system can be achieved with the constraints considering the normal states and contingencies states. Case studies based on the IEEE 9-bus system with CHPs are presented to illustrate the approach. The case result shows that the combined electric and heat optimal dispatch is more economical than when two systems are independently optimized and operated. And the proposed preventive control approach of the CHP system can satisfy both the electric and heat demand, and system security is ensured when the N-1 contingencies happened. © 2018 Institution of Engineering and Technology. The rapid growing scale of electric vehicles (EV) has brought benefit and impact on urban traffic network and the electric power system simultaneously by integrating these two systems together into a Cyber-Physical-Social system (CPSS) in energy. This paper presents a coordinated analysis method of the urban integrated energy-traffic network based on real-world GPS data from vehicles in Shenyang and Shenzhen, China. Case study shows that the integrated system will be affecting each other through the coupling interactions of EVs.

With the technological advancement in the fields of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), a massive amount of customers’ electricity consumption data is collected. Meanwhile, the energy providers need to make informed decisions based on power consumption strategy of demand side to reduce overall operational cost. So how to generate demand side load data based on historical energy consumption data or customer attribute is a pressing issue. In this paper, we propose a data-driven approach to generate new power consumption data based on intrinsic property of load pattern learnt from demand side using conditional generative adversarial networks (cGANs), which is based on two interconnected deep neural networks known as generator and discriminator. By using several representative labels from the responded surveys and the load data from demand side to train the models, the generator is able to generate realistic power consumption data by given labels which can be used for energy management and scheduling, the discriminator is capable of detecting abnormal power consumption and system error from the smart meter data.

Reliability assessment is the key to ensure the security of power system, however, the rapid development of “source-network-load-storage” cause enormous obstacle to the traditional reliability method. A improved method for reliability assessment of generation and transmission systems is proposed in this paper which lays importance on the coordinate operation and uncertainty of “source-network-load-storage”. Firstly, the reliability and operation model of “source-network-load-storage” is proposed to handle certain novel elements. Then the reliability assessment with operation simulation is proposed to make balance between generation and load under uncertainty. Finally, numerical analysis focusing on the different form and proportion of “source-network-load-storage” is tested in IEEE RTS-79 system so as to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the improved method.

As the energy scarcity and environment problems become more and more severe, promoting renewable energy has become an important task and thus energy storage draws increasing attention for integrating renewable energy. Among many available options, advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage (AA-CAES) are considered mature and affordable options for gridscale applications. However, the relatively high capital cost hinders the development of AA-CAES system. As a result, the cost-benefit analysis of AA-CAES application is studied in this paper. The thermodynamic characteristics of AA-CAES system are carefully studied and modeled. An optimal configuration method of AA-CAES capacity considering energy arbitrage is proposed and the optimal capacity of each component of AA-CAES is demonstrated. simulation results indicate that the application of AA-CAES in arbitrage market is profitable but the payback period is long. The profit estimations are more realistic compare to conventional battery model. Profitable cost range of AA-CAES is found through sensibility analysis. Augmenting electricity price to improve economic of AA-CAES is discussed at the end.

With a high penetration of distributed energy resources (DER) connected to the power grid, the reliability and safety of the power grid compromised by the uncertainty of energy output. Many utilities adopted strategies to abandon excessive wind and solar energy generation to ensure reliable operations of the power grid. The virtual power plant (VPP) is a way of aggregating various types of energy resources and optimizing resources utilization. It participates in the electricity market and improves the utilization of energy resources within the VPP. VPP provides services such as peak shaving, frequency regulation, and emergency power support for the power grid. It intends to prevent the negative impact caused by the uncertainty of power generation of the distributed energy resources. In this paper, three kinds of typical VPP interactive resource are introduced, which differ in characteristics, control modes, and output characteristics. In addition, the VPP achieves improved energy efficiency through rational optimized resource allocation and optimized scheduling, including internal and external scheduling optimization.
