The battery differences not only affect the reliability and security of battery packs but also accelerate the decline of the packs' life. Although battery management systems (BMS) and equalization circuit can be used to balance the differences, only the whole battery pack can be protected with high-cost and complex circuits. Dynamic reconfigurable battery management system (DRBMS) based on networked control has a simple principle and can shield the differences of battery cells. This paper designs experiments for the dynamic reconfigurable battery network technology and makes a contrast with the traditional BMS. Through the analysis of voltage, SOC difference and dynamic resistance during charging and discharging, the results show that DRBMS has better voltage and capacity equalization effect than BMS. The cells of paralleled battery packs can be fully charged/released in DRBMS. It is also verified that DRBMS is applicable on decommissioned bus battery packs which are of larger differences and the ladder utilization.

In this study, a new three-phase four-leg matrix converter (TFMC) topology is proposed, and the three-dimensional space vector modulation (3DSVM) strategy is used to realise the output with the three-phase unbalanced load. Aiming at the situation that the icing area of the more electric aircraft on the wing is larger than the icing area in the belly, wing ice protection system is constructed by using the TFMC. Through the real-time detection of the heating element temperature and icing condition by the sensor installed in the wing and belly position, working temperature and three-phase output power of TFMC can be set reasonably. In order to save fuel consumption and reduce operating costs, the key point is to reduce the power transmission in belly position. Finally, simulation and experiment verify the correctness of the proposed 3DSVM strategy and realise the TFMC output with unbalanced three-phase load. © 2018 Institution of Engineering and Technology. Combined cooling, power and heat (CCHP) technics are widely used in district energy utilization. The domestic application of high energy efficiency buildings, regarded as smart buildings, rely on CCHP technics to improve overall performance. Dynamic process optimization is used to improve systems with its consumer comfort, carbon footprint, cost effectiveness and resilience. In this paper, a passive building module is proposed as a load for inserting CCHP generation, and an artificial bee colony is selected to analyze the performance of the proposed module. The module is divided into centralized generation and decentralized generation topologies, and a contrast analysis is also proposed. Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is used to solve problems with both state variables and decision variables existing simultaneously. The study shows that the proposed method can well reproduce the strategy and reveal the performance of the standard of smart buildings. Each characteristic of the smart building strategy is given in this passage.

Currently,insulation performance of high voltage DC(HVDC)power cables is still of critical significance challenge in both engineering application and fundamental *** example,HVDC cable insulation suffers breakdown under the conditions of cold start and load cycling tests,and the presence of space charge at high temperatures causes electric field distortion within the ***,the operating temperature of HVDC cables could only reach 70℃at *** work intends to carry out research on the effect of temperature on space charge characteristics of low-density polyethylene(LDPE)films at prebreakdown under a linearly ramping voltage,which is of great significance for further understanding and improving the operating temperature and breakdown strength of HVDC ***-free LDPE film with a thickness of 100 μm was purchased from GoodFellow *** improved space charge measurement system was developed with a high-speed measurement interval of 1 ms,a high voltage pulse of 120 V,and a pulse width of 5 ns.A linearly ramping voltage of 0.5 kV/s was selected and cut off after breakdown *** and steady behaviors of space charge was comprehensively sudied under a linearly ramping voltage of 500 V/s at 30℃and 70℃,*** results show that negative charge was rapidly injected and accumulated near the anode at a relatively low electric field at 70℃.As the applied electric field gradually increased,the anode appeared a significant positive charge *** phenomenon occurred when charge packets were injected to a certain distance of~30 μ*** the contrast,there was only negative charge injection and accumulation in the bulk of LDPE films at 30℃,and breakdown was not observed even when the voltage rose to-30 *** was found that the anode had a positive space charge packet injection at 30℃and slowly migrated to the cathode,and the entire transit process took tens of *** the internal electric field distribution,the ma

Demand Side Data Generating Based on Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks

With the technological advancement in the fields of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), a massive amount of customers’ electricity consumption data is collected. Meanwhile, the energy providers need to make informed decisions based on power consumption strategy of demand side to reduce overall operational cost. So how to generate demand side load data based on historical energy consumption data or customer attribute is a pressing issue. In this paper, we propose a data-driven approach to generate new power consumption data based on intrinsic property of load pattern learnt from demand side using conditional generative adversarial networks (cGANs), which is based on two interconnected deep neural networks known as generator and discriminator. By using several representative labels from the responded surveys and the load data from demand side to train the models, the generator is able to generate realistic power consumption data by given labels which can be used for energy management and scheduling, the discriminator is capable of detecting abnormal power consumption and system error from the smart meter data.

The rapid growing scale of electric vehicles (EV) has brought benefit and impact on urban traffic network and the electric power system simultaneously by integrating these two systems together into a Cyber-Physical-Social System (CPSS) in energy. This paper presents a coordinated analysis method of the urban integrated energy-traffic network based on real-world GPS data from vehicles in Shenyang and Shenzhen, China. Case study shows that the integrated system will be affecting each other through the coupling interactions of EVs.

With a high penetration of distributed energy resources (DER) connected to the power grid, the reliability and safety of the power grid compromised by the uncertainty of energy output. Many utilities adopted strategies to abandon excessive wind and solar energy generation to ensure reliable operations of the power grid. The virtual power plant (VPP) is a way of aggregating various types of energy resources and optimizing resources utilization. It participates in the electricity market and improves the utilization of energy resources within the VPP. VPP provides services such as peak shaving, frequency regulation, and emergency power support for the power grid. It intends to prevent the negative impact caused by the uncertainty of power generation of the distributed energy resources. In this paper, three kinds of typical VPP interactive resource are introduced, which differ in characteristics, control modes, and output characteristics. In addition, the VPP achieves improved energy efficiency through rational optimized resource allocation and optimized scheduling, including internal and external scheduling optimization.

The electric vehicle market has witnessed a big growth spurt as a result of the promotion of the transportation electrification in the global. Among electric vehicles, electric passenger cars are the most promising fleet to achieve the global climate target in the next decades, which will lead to a vast potential public charging market. Therefore, evaluating the economy of operating the charging infrastructure from the operator's perspective is especially required. The paper aims at providing an economic evaluation of charging infrastructure in public places in China. In the proposed method, the initial investment cost, the subsidy, the operating revenue and the operating cost are all modeled in detail. Using the proposed model, two scenarios representing the electric vehicle charging in the work place and in the fast charging station are assumed, and the cost and revenue of charging operators are calculated and compared. It is shown that under our assumption the payback period of the charging infrastructure in the work place is much shorter than that of fast charging station. Because the calculated payback period of fast charging station is more than ten years, current fast charging stations are unlikely to profit, and the promotion of the fast charging stations requires further policy support and smart grid technology development. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

As the energy scarcity and environment problems become more and more severe, promoting renewable energy has become an important task and thus energy storage draws increasing attention for integrating renewable energy. Among many available options, advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage (AA-CAES) are considered mature and affordable options for gridscale applications. However, the relatively high capital cost hinders the development of AA-CAES system. As a result, the cost-benefit analysis of AA-CAES application is studied in this paper. The thermodynamic characteristics of AA-CAES system are carefully studied and modeled. An optimal configuration method of AA-CAES capacity considering energy arbitrage is proposed and the optimal capacity of each component of AA-CAES is demonstrated. simulation results indicate that the application of AA-CAES in arbitrage market is profitable but the payback period is long. The profit estimations are more realistic compare to conventional battery model. Profitable cost range of AA-CAES is found through sensibility analysis. Augmenting electricity price to improve economic of AA-CAES is discussed at the end.
