Rabies-viruses-based retrograde tracers can spread across multiple synapses in a retrograde direction in the nervous system of rodents and primates,making them powerful tools for determining the structure and function of the complicated neural circuits of the ***,they have some limitations,such as posing high risks to human health and the inability to retrograde trans-synaptic label inputs from genetically-de¯ned starter ***,we established a new retrograde trans-multi-synaptic tracing method through brain-wide rabies virus glycoprotein(RVG)compensation,followed by glycoprotein-deleted rabies virus(RV-△G)infection in specific brain ***,in combination with the avian tumor virus receptor A(TVA)controlled by a cell-type-specific promoter,we found that EnvA-pseudotyped RV-△G can mediate e±cient retrograde trans-multi-synaptic transduction from cell-type-specific starter *** study provides new alternative methods for neuroscience researchers to analyze the input neural networks of rodents and nonhuman primates.

In the process industry,operator training is a vital activity to avoid catastrophic accidents caused by human *** an operation training system(OTS) is established,the most urgent task is the assessment of the operator's *** appropriate,thorough feedback and evaluation are of great importance to ensure that process operators are able to identify and fill gaps in their competency or learn new *** paper designs a multi-dimensional operation skill evaluation algorithm(MDOSEA) for central control room(CCR) operators in air separation *** obtains benchmarks for skill evaluation and analysis by collecting model-based machine operation *** evaluates operators' skills from four performance indicators,and automatically provides feedback on skill *** applied MDOSEA to the evaluation and analysis of load change operation in air separation *** industrial application in vocational skill competition shows that the proposed algorithm can reflect the skills of operators,distinguish different operating skills,and accelerate the learning curve.

In this study,surface modification of monocrystalline silicon with two doses of hydrogen ion implantation and the plunge cutting process were conducted to explore the influence of hydrogen ions on the cutting behavior of *** results show that ion implantation is capable of deteriorating or improving the machinability of silicon,depending on the implantation *** cleavages and a reduction of critical depth of cut(CDoC)were observed for the silicon with a low implantation dose in the cutting direction of<100>in comparison to bare silicon,while no cleavage and an increase of CDoC were achieved after implantation with a high dose in the same cutting ***,the ductile cutting and thrust forces of the silicon with the low dose are larger than the bare silicon,but the forces are significantly reduced for the silicon after the high dose of *** variation of the cutting forces is due to the different required stresses to overcome ductile and fracture deformation of silicon.

The security problem of networked control systems（NCSs） suffering denial of service（DoS） attacks with incomplete information is investigated in this paper. Data transmission among different components in NCSs may be blocked due to DoS attacks. We use the concept of security level to describe the degree of security of different components in an NCS. Intrusion detection system（IDS） is used to monitor the invalid data generated by DoS attacks. At each time slot, the defender considers which component to monitor while the attacker considers which place for invasion. A one–shot game between attacker and defender is built and both the complete information case and the incomplete information case are considered. Furthermore, a repeated game model with updating beliefs is also established based on the Bayes’ rule. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In recent years, scholars have conducted in-depth researches on the robustness, structural vulnerability, and detection and identification of devices in cyberspace from different perspectives such as complex networks and cyberspace resource mapping. Aiming at the problem of identifying important nodes on a large-scale Internet, a CETCRank algorithm for identifying important Internet nodes based on unsupervised learning is proposed. When the algorithm analyzes the attributes of each cyberspace equipment, it not only considers the graph structure characteristics based on the network topology, but also integrates the threat metric of cyberspace equipment. Based on the hypothesis of the cyber attack model, the effective identification of important nodes in the Internet can be realized by integrating the node attributes into the constructed Markov chain model. Experiments show that the time and space complexity of the CETCRank algorithm is suitable for analyzing large-scale Internet, and the recognition performance of important nodes is better than the PageRank algorithm.

Practical fractional-order variable-gain super-twisting control with application to wafer stages of photolithography systems

In this paper, a practical fractional-order variable-gain super-twisting algorithm (PFVSTA) is proposed to improve the tracking performance of wafer stages for semiconductor manufacturing. Based on the sliding mode control (SMC), the proposed PFVSTA enhances the tracking performance from three aspects: 1) alleviating the chattering phenomenon via super-twisting algorithm and a novel fractional-order sliding surface (FSS) design, 2) improving the dynamics of states on the sliding surface with fast response and small overshoots via the designed novel FSS and 3) compensating for disturbances via variable-gain control law. Based on practical conditions, this paper analyzes the stability of the controller and illustrates the theoretical principle to compensate for the uncertainties caused by accelerations. Moreover, numerical simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed sliding surface and control scheme, and they are in agreement with the theoretical analysis. Finally, practice-based comparative experiments are conducted. The results show that the proposed PFVSTA can achieve much better tracking performance than the conventional methods from various perspectives. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Surface electromyography (sEMG) based speech recognition has been widely studied in the last decade. The recognition is based on the signals captured by some electrodes which collect the ion currents generated by surface muscle activities. Therefore, the recognition could be carried out even the speech is inaudible. To address the temporal variance issue in isolated word recognition system, we developed an alternative way to process the signals, which is using interpolation functions to resize the signal segments. Results show that our method is practical by comparing it with the typical sEMG based isolated word speech recognition system.

In ultra-precision cutting, the inherent working frequency and positioning accuracy of actuators are decisive. It is challenging to generate multi-scale cutting motions with high accuracy on a hierarchical scale simultaneously. In this study, a novel micro and nano cutting device with multiple axes with micro-scale positioning accuracy in millimetres and nanoscale positioning accuracy in micron meters is developed for overcoming the challenge. The structure of the cutting device is designed with a small form factor in dimension in comparison to other auxiliary cutting devices for ultra-precision machine tools. The magnetic field simulation is also used to optimize the output force of the voice coil motor with the simulation results validated by experiments using a force sensor. The operation mechanism of the flexure-hinge is investigated by finite element analysis. The device can perform ±0.5 mm stroke at 10 Hz and ±8 µm at 3300 Hz for generation of microstructures with experimental validation. The significance and originality of this study lie in the successful development of a novel hybrid actuation cutting system that can generate multi-scale cutting motions with high accuracy and flexibility on a hierarchical scale for the generation of microstructured surfaces in ultraprecision machining. © 2022, The Authors. Artificial photosynthesis of H2O2 using water and oxygen as raw material is a promising approach. Herein, a novel graphite-like carbon nitride/carbon (g-C3N4/C) heterojunction was prepared by one-step calcination of KOH, melamine and microplastics mixture, which could photocatalytic H2O2 production up to 6.146 mmol g-1 h-1 under visible light irradiation. By analyzing the energy band-structure of the catalyst, the photocatalytic production of H2O2 in this system consists of two single-electron reactions. The modification of KOH makes a large number of N-vacancies and N-defects caused by cyano-groups in g-C3N4, enhancing the electron absorption ability. Moreover, the introduction of graphitic carbon increases its specific surface area and porosity and improves the adsorption ability of O2. Simultaneously, their synergism reduces the band-gap of g-C3N4 and makes both the conduction-band and valence-band positions more negative, showing enhanced reduction ability, lowering the energy barrier for oxygen reduction, and greatly improving the photogeneration performance of H2O2. © 2023, The Authors. The development of aerial autonomy has enabled aerial robots to fly agilely in complex environments. However, dodging fast-moving objects in flight remains a challenge, limiting the further application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The bottleneck of solving this problem is the accurate perception of rapid dynamic objects. Recently, event cameras have shown great potential in solving this problem. This paper presents a complete perception system including ego-motion compensation, object detection, and trajectory prediction for fast-moving dynamic objects with low latency and high precision. Firstly, we propose an accurate ego-motion compensation algorithm by considering both rotational and translational motion for more robust object detection. Then, for dynamic object detection, an event camera-based efficient regression algorithm is designed. Finally, we propose an optimization-based approach that asynchronously fuses event and depth cameras for trajectory prediction. Extensive real-world experiments and benchmarks are performed to validate our framework. Moreover, our code will be released to benefit related researches. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.
