A brain-computer interface (BCI) establishes a direct communication pathway between the human brain and a computer. It has been widely used in medical diagnosis, rehabilitation, education, entertainment, etc. Most research so far focuses on making BCIs more accurate and reliable, but much less attention has been paid to their privacy. Developing a commercial BCI system usually requires close collaborations among multiple organizations, e.g., hospitals, universities, and/or companies. Input data in BCIs, e.g., electroencephalogram (EEG), contain rich privacy information, and the developed machine learning model is usually proprietary. Data and model transmission among different parties may incur significant privacy threats, and hence privacy protection in BCIs must be considered. Unfortunately, there does not exist any contemporary and comprehensive review on privacy-preserving BCIs. This paper fills this gap, by describing potential privacy threats and protection strategies in BCIs. It also points out several challenges and future research directions in developing privacy-preserving BCIs. © 2024, CC BY.

With the development of science and technology, the hardware and software design of transformer intelligent measurement and control terminal is very important. Based on the hardware and software appization of internet of things, the design scheme of hardware and software structure is given. Supported by high-performance operating system, the terminal device can be upgraded flexibly through APP application software. The intelligent terminal pair can realize full data collection, full control and full fusion, and real-time exchange of key operation data with the power distribution master station. Electronic nose has been proven effective in alternative herbal medicine classification, but due to the nature of supervised learning, previous research heavily relies on the labelled training data, which are time-costly and labor-intensive to collect. To alleviate the critical dependency on the training data in real-world applications, this study aims to improve classification accuracy via data augmentation strategies. The effectiveness of five data augmentation strategies under different training data inadequacy are investigated in two scenarios: the noise-free scenario where different availabilities of unlabelled data were considered, and the noisy scenario where different levels of Gaussian noises and translational shift were added to represent sensor drifts. The five augmentation strategies, namely noise-adding data augmentation, semi-supervised learning, classifier-based online learning, Inductive Conformal Prediction (ICP) online learning and our novel ensemble ICP online learning (EICP) proposed in this study, are compared against supervised learning baselines, with Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the classifiers. This study provides a systematic analysis of different augmentation strategies. Our novel strategy, EICP, outperforms the others by showing non-decreasing classification accuracy on all tasks and a significant improvement on most simulated tasks (25 out of 36 tasks, p ≤ 0.05), which demonstrated both effectiveness and robustness in boosting the classification model generalizability. Accurate localization of the robot is an important prerequisite for the autonomous mobile *** localization methods struggle with the cumulative drift errors *** proposes the visual-inertial localization method which based on multi prior maps and generates a summary map with a fixed map ***,for the localization problem with gravity alignment,the relative pose of the pitch and roll is known,which reduces the dimensions of the *** the 3 D-2 D data association of the map and current query image,both geometric and reprojection constrains are *** the process of map summarization,the idea of iterative map building is proposed and a novel scoring strategy is exploited to limit the summary map to a fixed *** evaluated our method on public and our *** result indicates that our method owns higher localization accuracy and better robustness than other comparative method.

The development of Cu ion-exchanged small-pore zeolites with excellent performance and high hydrothermal stability in NH3-SCR reaction is of great importance. However, many frameworks of the small-pore zeolites are Al-rich, for instance, Cu-SSZ-16 zeolite with Si/Al ratio always no more than 5, showing relatively low hydrothermal stability. In this work, inspired by theoretical calculation for the interaction between organic structural directing agents (OSDAs) and zeolite framework, high silica SSZ-16 zeolite with Si/Al ratio at 6.7 was directly synthesized using an economical diquaternary alkylammonium cation as an OSDA. After exchanged with Cu ion, the Cu-SSZ-16 catalyst shows extraordinarily superior performance in NH3-SCR reaction even after hydrothermal aging at 900 °C. The designed synthesis combined with excellent performance as well as high hydrothermal stability of the high silica SSZ-16 zeolite might provide an attractive alternative candidate for NH3-SCR catalyst on diesel vehicles and non-road mobile machinery in the future. © 2023, The Authors. Aiming at the optimal operation problem for chemical industry, the hierarchical structure of real time optimization and control integration was proposed.A least squares-based extremum-seeking control approach was installed in the slower optimization *** setpoint was updated by driving the estimated steady-state gradient of the cost to *** proposed approach can effectively suppress the impact of plant model mismatch on the optimization objective since it avoided using a process model.A self-optimizing control method for selecting the controlled variables was *** self-optimizing control method fitted better in the faster control layer below and tracked the updated setpoint given by the extremum-seeking control *** proposed method minimized the global average loss based on the approximation of necessary conditions of optimality over the entire operating region.A least squares regression method was employed for controlled variables selection to achieve near the optimal *** proposed strategy in this work was more reliable and robust since it avoided using the second order derivate information, in the meanwhile, inherited both advantages of each individual *** exothermic reaction process was investigated to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

The lithium-ion battery has become one of the main power sources in electric vehicles (EVs) because of its great performance. In order to improve the safety and endurance, the temperature of the lithium-ion battery must be kept within a safe range. In this paper, a thermal management method for lithium-ion battery based on fuzzy model predictive control (FMPC) is proposed. Among various lithium-ion battery models, the equivalent circuit model is common-used for its simplicity and suitability. However, the effect of temperature is seldom considered. This paper comprehensively considers the influence of state of charge (SOC) and temperature on the parameters of equivalent circuit model. The simulation results show that the proposed lithium-ion battery thermal management method is effective, and has great performance.

FlowMOT: 3D multi-object tracking by scene flow association

Most end-to-end Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) methods face the problems of low accuracy and poor generalization ability. Although traditional filter-based methods can achieve better results, they are difficult to be endowed with optimal hyperparameters and often fail in varying scenarios. To alleviate these drawbacks, we propose a LiDAR-based 3D MOT framework named FlowMOT, which integrates point-wise motion information with the traditional matching algorithm, enhancing the robustness of the motion prediction. We firstly utilize a scene flow estimation network to obtain implicit motion information between two adjacent frames and calculate the predicted detection for each old tracklet in the previous frame. Then we use Hungarian algorithm to generate optimal matching relations with the ID propagation strategy to finish the tracking task. Experiments on KITTI MOT dataset show that our approach outperforms recent end-to-end methods and achieves competitive performance with the state-of-the-art filter-based method. In addition, ours can work steadily in the various-speed scenarios where the filter-based methods may fail. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

By extracting electrical signals on the surface of the speech-related muscles, which are, surface electromyography signals, information of the brain can be traced back to achieve silent speech recognition. Preprocessing is a crucial step for silent speech recognition and subsequent phases. In preprocessing of mime speech signals, baseline drift and active segment detection play an important role, but efforts in the direction are very limited. In this paper, the quadratic variation reduction separation baseline drift was introduced. On this basis, the three-parameter double threshold method based on autocorrelation function, band standard deviation, and short-time energy were used to detect the active segment of the surface electromyography signals, and good results were obtained. Finally, by extracting features, silent speech recognition was classified by the random forest algorithm. Experiments showed that the method described in this paper obtains 85% correctness in the data set of 9 words.

PASS3D: Precise and accelerated semantic segmentation for 3D point cloud

In this paper, we propose PASS3D to achieve point-wise semantic segmentation for 3D point cloud. Our framework combines the efficiency of traditional geometric methods with robustness of deep learning methods, consisting of two stages: At stage-1, our accelerated cluster proposal algorithm will generate refined cluster proposals by segmenting point clouds without ground, capable of generating less redundant proposals with higher recall in an extremely short time;stage-2 we will amplify and further process these proposals by a neural network to estimate semantic label for each point and meanwhile propose a novel data augmentation method to enhance the network's recognition capability for all categories especially for non-rigid objects. Evaluated on KITTI raw dataset, PASS3D stands out against the state-of-the-art on some results, making itself competent to 3D perception in autonomous driving system.
