Self-supervised pretraining attempts to enhance model performance by obtaining effective features from unlabeled data, and has demonstrated its effectiveness in the field of histopathology images. Despite its success, few works concentrate on the extraction of nucleus-level information, which is essential for pathologic analysis. In this work, we propose a novel nucleus-aware self-supervised pretraining framework for histopathology images. The framework aims to capture the nuclear morphology and distribution information through unpaired image-to-image translation between histopathology images and pseudo mask images. The generation process is modulated by both conditional and stochastic style representations, ensuring the reality and diversity of the generated histopathology images for pretraining. Further, an instance segmentation guided strategy is employed to capture instance-level information. The experiments on 7 datasets show that the proposed pretraining method outperforms supervised ones on Kather classification, multiple instance learning, and 5 dense-prediction tasks with the transfer learning protocol, and yields superior results than other self-supervised approaches on 8 semi-supervised tasks. We investigate the problem of last-mile delivery, where a large amount of crowd-workers have performed a great quantity of location-specific urban logistics parcels. Current existing approaches mainly focus on offline scenarios, where all the spatial-temporal information of parcels and workers are given. However, the offline scenarios can be impractical since parcels and workers appear dynamically in reality, and the information of workers is unknown in advance. In this paper, we study the problem of last-mile delivery on online scenarios to resolve the shortcomings of the offline setting. We first formalize the online parcel allocation in last-mile delivery problem, where all parcels were put in pop-stations in advance, and workers arrive dynamically. Then we propose a baseline algorithm with no competitive ratio, and an algorithm providing theoretical guarantee for the parcel allocation in last-mile delivery. Finally, we verify the effectiveness and efficiency of proposed algorithms through extensive experiments on real and synthetic datasets. © 2020 IEEE.

Event Extraction bridges the gap between text and event signals. Based on the assumption of trigger-argument dependency, existing approaches have achieved state-of-the-art performance with expert-designed templates or complicated decoding constraints. In this paper, for the first time we introduce the prompt-based learning strategy to the domain of Event Extraction, which empowers the automatic exploitation of label semantics on both input and output sides. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed generative method, we conduct extensive experiments with 11 diverse baselines. Empirical results show that, in terms of F1 score on Argument Extraction, our simple architecture is stronger than any other generative counterpart and even competitive with algorithms that require template engineering. Regarding the measure of recall, it sets new overall records for both Argument and Trigger Extractions. Ransomware is a new business model for cybercrime which mainly targets individual users and machines. Many events have shown how profitable the technique can be. Industrial control systems (ICS) are becoming the next domain. More and more researchers and attackers have become the focus on this field and presented some ICS ransomware. But existing ICS ransomware is theoretically feasible and has a limited effect on real ICS. In this work, we present ICS-BROCK, a full-fledged ICS ransomware that can compromise a real-world. To demonstrate the capability of ICS-BROCK, we use SIEMENS S7-300 PLC, one of the most widely used devices in ICSs, to build a real water treatment environment. The results empirically demonstrate the feasibility of launching ICS ransomware attacks in a practical setting. In the end, we give some suggestions on ICS ransomware to aid in future study and defenses.

AI technology has been used in many clinical research fields, but most AI technologies are difficult to land in real-world clinical settings. In most current clinical AI research settings, the diagnosis task is to identify different types of diseases among the given ones. However, the diagnosis in real-world settings needs dynamically developing inspection strategies based on the existing resources of medical institutions and identifying different kinds of diseases out of many possibilities. To promote the development of different clinical AI technologies and the implementation of clinical applications, we propose a benchmark named Clinical AIBench for developing, verifying, and evaluating clinical AI technologies in real-world clinical settings. Specifically, Clinical AIBench can be used for: (1) Model training and testing: Researchers can use the data to train and test their models. (2)Model evaluation: Researchers can use Clinical AIBench to objectively, fairly, and comparably evaluate various models of different researchers. (3) Clinical value evaluation: Researchers can use the clinical indicators provided by Clinical AIBench to evaluate the clinical value of models, which will be applied in real-world clinical settings. For convenience, Clinical AIBench provides three different levels of clinical settings: restricted clinical setting, which is named closed clinical setting, data island clinical setting, and real-world clinical setting, which is called open clinical setting. In addition, Clinical AIBench covers three diseases: Alzheimer's disease, COVID-19, and dental. Clinical AIBench provides python APIs to researchers. A robust and generalized framework for adversarial graph embedding

Graph embedding is essential for graph mining tasks. With the prevalence of graph data in real-world applications, many methods have been proposed in recent years to learn high quality graph embedding vectors various types of graphs. However, most existing methods usually randomly select the negative samples from the original graph to enhance the training data without considering the noise. In addition, most of these methods only focus on the explicit graph structures and cannot fully capture complex semantics of edges such as various relationships or asymmetry. In order to address these issues, we propose a robust and generalized framework for adversarial graph embedding based on generative adversarial networks. Inspired by generative adversarial network, we propose a robust and generalized framework for adversarial graph embedding, named AGE. AGE generates the fake neighbor nodes as the enhanced negative samples from the implicit distribution, and enables the discriminator and generator to jointly learn each node's robust and generalized representation. Based on this framework, we propose three models to handle three types of graph data and derive the corresponding optimization algorithms, i.e., UG-AGE and DG-AGE for undirected and directed homogeneous graphs, respectively, and HIN-AGE for heterogeneous information networks. Extensive experiments show that our methods consistently and significantly outperform existing state-of-the-art methods across multiple graph mining tasks, including link prediction, node classification, and graph reconstruction. In the era of sixth-generation (6G) wireless communications, integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) is recognized as a promising solution to upgrade the physical system by endowing wireless communications with sensing capability. Existing ISAC is mainly oriented to static scenarios with radio-frequency (RF) sensors being the primary participants, thus lacking a comprehensive environment feature characterization and facing a severe performance bottleneck in dynamic environments. To date, extensive surveys on ISAC have been conducted but are limited to summarizing RF-based radar sensing. Currently, some research efforts have been devoted to exploring multi-modal sensing-communication integration but still lack a comprehensive review. To fill the gap, we embark on an initial endeavor with the goal of establishing a unified framework of intelligent multi-modal sensing-communication integration by generalizing the concept of ISAC and providing a comprehensive review under this framework. Inspired by the human synesthesia, the so-termed Synesthesia of Machines (SoM) gives the clearest cognition of such an intelligent integration and details its paradigm for the first time. We commence by justifying the necessity and potential of the new paradigm. Subsequently, we offer a rigorous definition of SoM and zoom into the detailed paradigm, which is summarized as three operational modes realizing the integration. To facilitate SoM research, we overview the prerequisite of SoM research, that is, mixed multi-modal (MMM) datasets, and introduce our work. Built upon the MMM datasets, we introduce the mapping relationships between multi-modal sensing and communications, and discuss how channel modeling can be customized to support the exploration of such relationships. Transformers have dominated the field of natural language processing, and recently impacted the computer vision area. In the field of medical image analysis, Transformers have also been successfully applied to full-stack clinical applications, including image synthesis/reconstruction, registration, segmentation, detection, and diagnosis. Our paper aims to promote awareness and application of Transformers in the field of medical image analysis. Specifically, we first overview the core concepts of the attention mechanism built into Transformers and other basic components. Second, we review various Transformer architectures tailored for medical image applications and discuss their limitations. Within this review, we investigate key challenges revolving around the use of Transformers in different learning paradigms, improving the model efficiency, and their coupling with other techniques. We hope this review can give a comprehensive picture of Transformers to the readers in the field of medical image analysis. © 2022, CC BY-SA.
