For monitoring the paste concentration, existing techniques, such as ultrasonic concentration meters and neutron meters, suffer from radiation hazards and low precision in high concentrations. This paper proposes a novel non-contact concentration measurement method based on deep learning. With the dataset collected by preparing the paste with different concentrations and taking photographs from the paste surface, a convolutional neural network is trained to extract the features from images and predict the concentration. The experiments indicate that the measurement accuracy is close to 88.79 % for the manual stirring paste dataset and 91.42 % for the automatic stirring paste dataset, which are sufficient in industrial applications. As a substitution of traditional concentration measurement instruments, the proposed vision-based concentration measurement method is non-contact and its accuracy is sufficient in industrial applications. © 2024 IEEE.

With the widespread use of language models (LMs) in NLP tasks, researchers have discovered the potential of Chain-of-thought (CoT) to assist LMs in accomplishing complex reasoning tasks by generating intermediate steps. However, human thought processes are often non-linear, rather than simply sequential chains of thoughts. Therefore, we propose Graph-of-Thought (GoT) reasoning, which models human thought processes not only as a chain but also as a graph. By representing thought units as nodes and connections between them as edges, our approach captures the non-sequential nature of human thinking and allows for a more realistic modeling of thought processes. GoT adopts a two-stage framework with an additional GoT encoder for thought graph representation and fuses the graph representation with the original input representation through a gated fusion mechanism. We evaluate GoT's performance on a text-only reasoning task (AQUA-RAT) and a multimodal reasoning task (ScienceQA). Our model achieves significant improvement over the strong CoT baseline on the AQUA-RAT test set and boosts accuracy from 85.19% to 87.59% using the T5-base model over the state-of-the-art Multimodal-CoT (Zhang et al., 2023) on the ScienceQA test set. Large Language Models (LLM) based agents have shown promise in autonomously completing tasks across various domains, e.g., robotics, games, and web navigation. However, these agents typically require elaborate design and expert prompts to solve tasks in specific domains, which limits their adaptability. We introduce AutoManual, a framework enabling LLM agents to autonomously build their understanding through interaction and adapt to new environments. AutoManual categorizes environmental knowledge into diverse rules and optimizes them in an online fashion by two agents: 1) The Planner codes actionable plans based on current rules for interacting with the environment. 2) The Builder updates the rules through a well-structured rule system that facilitates online rule management and essential detail retention. To mitigate hallucinations in managing rules, we introduce a case-conditioned prompting strategy for the Builder. Finally, the Formulator agent compiles these rules into a comprehensive manual. The self-generated manual can not only improve the adaptability but also guide the planning of smaller LLMs while being human-readable. Given only one simple demonstration, AutoManual significantly improves task success rates, achieving 97.4% with GPT-4-turbo and 86.2% with GPT-3.5-turbo on ALFWorld benchmark tasks. A typical VLSI design flow is divided into separated front-end logic synthesis and back-end physical design (PD) stages, which often require costly iterations between these stages to achieve design closure. Existing approaches face significant challenges, notably in utilizing feedback from physical metrics to better adapt and refine synthesis operations, and in establishing a unified and comprehensive metric. This paper introduces a new Primitive logic gate placement guided technology MAPping (PigMAP) framework to address these challenges. With approximating technology-independent spatial information, we develop a novel wirelength (WL) driven mapping algorithm to produce PD-friendly netlists. PigMAP is equipped with two schemes: a performance mode that focuses on optimizing the critical path WL to achieve high performance, and a power mode that aims to minimize the total WL, resulting in balanced power and performance outcomes. We evaluate our framework using the EPFL benchmark suites with ASAP7 technology, using the OpenROAD tool for place-and-route. Compared with OpenROAD flow scripts, performance mode reduces delay by 14% while increasing power consumption by only 6%. Meanwhile, power mode achieves a 3% improvement in delay and a 9% reduction in power consumption. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s).

Recently, Gaussian splatting has received more and more attention in the field of static scene rendering. Due to the low computational overhead and inherent flexibility of explicit representations, plane-based explicit methods are popular ways to predict deformations for Gaussian-based dynamic scene rendering models. However, plane-based methods rely on the inappropriate low-rank assumption and excessively decompose the space-time 4D encoding, resulting in overmuch feature overlap and unsatisfactory rendering quality. To tackle these problems, we propose Grid4D, a dynamic scene rendering model based on Gaussian splatting and employing a novel explicit encoding method for the 4D input through the hash encoding. Different from plane-based explicit representations, we decompose the 4D encoding into one spatial and three temporal 3D hash encodings without the low-rank assumption. Additionally, we design a novel attention module that generates the attention scores in a directional range to aggregate the spatial and temporal features. The directional attention enables Grid4D to more accurately fit the diverse deformations across distinct scene components based on the spatial encoded features. Moreover, to mitigate the inherent lack of smoothness in explicit representation methods, we introduce a smooth regularization term that keeps our model from the chaos of deformation prediction. Our experiments demonstrate that Grid4D significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art models in visual quality and rendering speed. Cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning (Co-MARL) commonly employs different parameter sharing mechanisms, such as full and partial sharing. However, imprudent application of these mechanisms can potentially constrain policy diversity and limit cooperation flexibility. Recent methods that group agents into distinct sharing categories often exhibit poor performance due to challenges in precisely differentiating agents and neglecting the issue of promoting cooperation among these categories. To address these issues, we introduce a dynamic selective parameter sharing mechanism embedded with multi-level reasoning abstractions (DSPS-MA). Our approach uses self-comparison sequences to infer agents' abstract concepts, defining the differences between agents and allowing them to dynamically select partners to share parameters based on these abstract concepts. We also design an intrinsic reward to offer comprehensive collaboration guidance for agents, and introduce a policy cosine similarity regularization term to ensure sufficient policy diversity. Empirical evaluations demonstrate that our approach yields higher returns and faster convergence than state-of-the-art methods. © 2023 The Authors.

In recent years, the heterogeneity among the blockchains has become the driving force behind the development of cross-chain technologies. Due to the limited processing speed of cross-chain system, excessive cross-chain transactions in the short term may cause network congestion and negatively impact. For this reason, it is essential to evaluate and optimize the performance of the cross-blockchain transaction process. However, existing research ignores the limitations of cross-chain systems. Much research is carried out to model, simulate and analyze the performance of traditional blockchain systems rather than cross-blockchain processes. To bridge this gap, our study proposes a queuing theoretical model based on system finite space, using the case of Cosmos, a typical cross-blockchain implemented by the relay mode. The solution of the steady-state equations are established by two-dimensional continuous time Markov process, and the performance measures such as average queue length, transaction rejection probability, and transaction response time are given. Finally, we simulated the analytical solutions of the relevant performance measures through experiments to verify the model’s effectiveness. While promising results have been achieved in weakly-supervised semantic segmentation (WSSS), limited supervision from image-level tags inevitably induces discriminative reliance and spurious relations between target classes and background regions. Thus, Class Activation Map (CAM) usually tends to activate discriminative object regions and falsely includes lots of class-related backgrounds. Without pixel-level supervisions, it could be very difficult to enlarge the foreground activation and suppress those false activation of background regions. In this paper, we propose a novel framework of Cross Language Image Matching with Automatic Context Discovery (CLIMS++), based on the recently introduced Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) model, for WSSS. The core idea of our framework is to introduce natural language supervision to activate more complete object regions and suppress class-related background regions in CAM. In particular, we design object, background region, and text label matching losses to guide the model to excite more reasonable object regions of each category. In addition, we propose to automatically find spurious relations between foreground categories and backgrounds, through which a background suppression loss is designed to suppress the activation of class-related backgrounds. The above designs enable the proposed CLIMS++ to generate a more complete and compact activation map for the target objects. Extensive experiments on PASCAL VOC 2012 and MS COCO 2014 datasets show that our CLIMS++ significantly outperforms the previous state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Efficiently and securely removing encrypted redundant data with cross-user in the cloud is challenging. Convergent Encryption (CE) is difficult to resist dictionary attacks for its deterministic tag. Server-aided mechanism is against such attacks while it may exist collusion. Focus on multimedia data, this paper proposes an efficient and secure fuzzy deduplication system without any additional servers. We also propose a notion of pre-verification of label consistency to compensate for the irreparable post-verification loss. Compared with other fuzzy deduplication schemes, our work has apparent advantages in deduplication efficiency and security based on a natural data set. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
