This paper addresses the decision trees induction with uncertain data. In other words, it presents a novel method, called uncertain decision trees (UDT) to handle the uncertainty during the process of inducing decision trees. Here, uncertainty is depicted via cloud model theory, a quantitative-qualitative transforming model with uncertainty, which can well integrate the fuzziness and randomness of concepts in a unified way. In the learning stage, dataset is pre-processed by cloud transformation algorithm, which climbs data into class labels via histograms or frequency distribution, and the labels are expressed by cloud concepts. In this paper, some basic definitions are proposed, including cloud distance, cloud dissimilarity matrix, cloud index, and UDT, where cloud index is a novel splitting criterion of selecting attributes for handling uncertainty. Take data from UCI for example, this paper provided an algorithm inducing UDT, and checked its validity or appropriateness. In contrast to the classical approaches, both in the learning stage and classifying stage, the proposed method develops existing methods, and it is more consistent with the human cognition, which can support uncertainty, build UDT via cloud concepts, and classify the uncertain data. Moreover, experiments and results are compared with the current methods to illustrate the feasibility, accuracy and effectiveness of the cloud based algorithm.

In the study of ALM, how to improve the performance of multicast system is a hotspot. Theoretical study shows that network coding can improve the performance of network multicast. In this paper, in accordance with the actual structure and features of HM-ALM, a cluster-oriented, and hybrid mesh ALM model, we select the deterministic linear coding strategy, and design the appropriate coding algorithm. The experimental results show that, using network coding in ALM system with hybrid mesh model can reduce transmission delay and enhance the system robustness with a certain amount of link redundancy.

Topology control is one of the most important energy-saving techniques used in wireless sensor networks. It has evolved into two dominant research directions: power control and sleep scheduling. Although many topology control algorithms and protocols are claimed to be highly energy-efficient, this is not necessarily the case in real systems due to various isolated considerations. In this paper, based on a simple and comprehensive analysis of energy consumption, we propose three necessary principles for energy-efficient topology control for wireless sensor networks. Topology control should (1) consider power control and sleep scheduling jointly, (2) be aware of traffic load, and (3) be done in conjunction with routing. We wish this paper could contribute to the development of the research on topology control for wireless sensor networks.

Regression testing is an expensive and frequently executed activity, which is often performed in a resource constrained execution environment. As resource-aware test suite optimization problem can be reduced to the 0-1 knapsack problem, which can be efficiently approximated with multiple algorithms. This paper proposes a new resource-aware test suite optimization technique and corresponding metric. The effectiveness of the technique and metric are illustrated by a case study.

This paper presents a component-based model with a novel ranking method (CMR) for constrained evolutionary optimization. In general, many constraint-handling technique inevitably solve two important problems: (1) how to generate the feasible solutions, (2) how to direct the search to find the feasible optimal solution. For the first problem, this paper introduces a component-based model. The model is useful for exploiting valuable information from infeasible solutions and for transforming infeasible solutions into feasible ones. Furthermore, a new ranking strategy is designed for the second problem. The new algorithm is tested on several well-known benchmark functions, and the empirical results suggest that it continuously found the optimums in 30 runs and has better standard deviations for robustness and stability.

Traditional reversible cellular automata (RCA) is fit for cryptography for its rules being an affine function, i.e. one reversible CA's rule can be applied in encryption process while another counterpart rule can be applied in decryption process. However, there is few number of traditional RCA; for example, there are only six reversible rules in elementary CA. This property caused it cannot meet large key-space of cryptography. In this paper, an extended RCA is proposed aimed to be applied in cryptography. Analysis indicates that the extended RCA can be obtained by a pair of complementary traditional rule. Furthermore, in order to improve the complexity of CA's dynamics, which is a crux in cryptography, traditional CA model is replaced by multi-granularity cellular automata (MGCA). In MGCA, different granularity cells have their own rules. Based on MGCA and RCA a cryptography algorithm that is proposed which called MGRCA. In MGRCA, cells have different granularity and can adjust their granularity dynamically by "split-recombination" behavior during the process of encryption and decryption. Unlike DES, the length of block in MGRCA can be adjusted by user. The analysis results show that the cryptosystem can resist brute attack and differential attack, and also has high security. The hardware that shared by encryption and decryption caused the cryptosystem has a strong practicability.

Unconstrained Gene Expression Programming (UGEP), a new unconstrained linear encoded Gene Expression Programming (GEP), is introduced and applied to solve classification problems in this paper. Different from GEP, both amount and length of the genes are dynamically adjusted in the UGEP chromosome during the evolution process. Experiment results indicate that UGEP perform better than GEP in classification problems.

Evolvable hardware(EHW) has been proposed as a promising technology for adaptive systems in last few years. However, in practical applications, evolutionary algorithms(EAs) often need numerous generations to search a new solution. In general, a mistaken system is damaged if it cannot restore in time, so the inefficiency problem has become an obstacle of developing adaptive and evolvable hardware. This paper analyzes how those three factors as genotype, algorithm, and methodology affect the efficiency of the EAs, as well as to what extent of their influence respectively, then proposes parallel and recursive decomposition (PRD) as a new decomposition strategy to accelerate the adaptation process from methodology perspective. Finally, some adaptive combination logical circuits are implemented on Xilinx Virtex-II Pro (XC2VP20) FPGA. The results demonstrate that PRD has more improvement on adaptation speed than some previous strategies.

The stability of Boolean networks and the stabilization of Boolean control networks are *** semi-tensor product of matrices and the matrix expression of logic,the dynamics of a Boolean(control) network can be converted to a discrete time linear(bilinear) dynamics,called the algebraic form of the Boolean(control) *** provide a framework for this *** results consist of two parts:(i) Using logic coordinate transformation,the known sufficient condition based on incidence matrix has been *** is also used in stabilizer design.(ii)Based on algebraic form,necessary and sufficient conditions for stability of Boolean networks and stabilization of Boolean control networks respectively are obtained.

In this paper, the DMOEA-DD, which is an improvement of DMOEA by using domain decomposition technique, is applied to tackle the CEC 2009 MOEA competition test instances that are multiobjective optimization problems (MOPs) with complicated Pareto set (PS) geometry shapes. The performance assessment is given by using IGD as performance metric.
