Reasonable analysis and corrective measurement for the testing results of Web applications can effectively judge the effect and efficiency of the testing. Therefore, based on the previous work, we propose a new method for testing results analysis and comparison, which uses the semantic label and XML description technique to realize the information separation between data and display in the Web pages, so as to directly compare the testing results and the expected results. Furthermore, combined with the realities, we determine the metric indexes of Web application testing, so as to provide the criterions and guidelines for the evaluations of the Web applications and their testing processes. And we introduce the feedback control mechanism into the development and evolvement of Web applications, so as to further improve the system quality. © 2005 IEEE.

This paper studies the chaotic dynamic behavior of MPEG-4 video trace and the relationship between the chaotic dynamic characteristic and the QoS parameter. The main research motive is to analysis and to verify the inherent character of MPEG-4 video, and to investigate whether it associates with QoS. The power spectral density estimation of the video trace describes its 1/f β and periodic characteristics. The principal components analysis of the reconstructed space dimension shows only several principal components can be the representation of all. The correlation dimension proves its fractal characteristic. The video trace is divided into many parts whose largest Lyapunov exponent values, which can be called largest Lyapunov exponent spectrum, are separately calculated using the small data sets method. The largest Lyapunov exponent spectrum shows there exists abundant chaos in MPEG-4 video. Through the comparison of the largest Lyapunov exponent spectrum and the packet loss ratio when transporting the video, the conclusion that there exists certain strong relation between them can be made. The conclusion is significant in QoS constrained video transport. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

Based on the theories of EA （Evolutionary Algorithm） and EHW （Evolvable Hardware）, we devise an EHW based software-hardware co designing platform ECDP, on which we provided standards for hardware system encoding and evolving operation designing, as well as circuit emulating tools. The major features of this system are： two layer-encoding of circuit structure, off-line evolving with software cmulation and the evolving of genetic program designing. With this system, we implemented the auto designing of sonic software-hardware systems, like the random number generator.

Integrated platform of artificial immune system for anomaly detection

Originated from human immune system, artificial immune system has been widely applied in the computational fields, especially for the task of anomaly detection. Although intensively investigated in the literature, most of the artificial immune systems involve the process of model pre-definition according to the specific scenarios to be coped with. The pre-definition, however, could cause the system to be unreliable and inflexible. Instead, we propose in this paper an integrated artificial immune system platform, which can automatically adapt to various types of immune models. For a particular object to be detected, the platform is able to configure the model set dynamically based on the "pressure" produced during the course of training and testing. In addition, a hybrid evaluation of multi-AIS-models is employed in the integrated platform to improve the self-adaptability of the system.

In this paper we proposed a new algorithm based on Inver-over operator, for combinatorial optimization problems. Inver-over is based on simple inversion;however, knowledge taken from other individuals in the population influences its action. In the new algorithm we use some new strategies including selection operator, replace operator and some new control strategy, which have been proved to be very efficient to accelerate the converge speed. Through the experiment, the new algorithm shows great efficiency in solving TSP with the problem scale under 300. ©2005 IEEE.

Providing integrated access to multiple, distributed, heterogeneous databases has become very important. Smalltalk can be used to achieve such an objectivity since Smalltalk can provide tools to connect commercial databases like Oracle and Sybase. We also developed tools to connect open source databases like Post-greSQL. Using these tools, data from multiple heterogenous databases can be extracted and mapped into objects in Smalltalk, where their syntactical and semantical conflicts can be resolved by object deputy model. An object deputy language is designed based on object deputy algebra and its compiler has been implemented in Smalltalk. In order to facilitate the use of object deputy language for data integration, we implemented an object deputy browser in Smalltalk.

In order to build an open, large-scale and interoperable distributed intelligent medical diagnosis and therapy system in the context of a wide-area network such as the Internet, this paper studies integrating mobile agent and ontology with Web Services. A model (called DMDTMAO: distributed medical diagnosis and therapy based on mobile agent and ontology) for this goal is proposed. This paper describes the architecture of the DMDTMAO model and how to integrate mobile agent and ontology with Web services within the DMDTMAO model. Employing agent enables the DMDTMAO model to re-configure system according to existing available services and actual needs. Mobile agent relieves the influence of transport delay in wide-area network. Using ontology as a standard Web service, it avoids misunderstandings in agent communication. Furthermore, it assures the correctness of matching agent services according to semantics accurately in service register server like the UDDI registry. A simulation based on JADEtrade, a Java-compliant mobile agent platform from TIlab, demonstrated the feasibility of this model. Preliminary experimental results indicated that the DMDTMAO model is flexible, robust and re-configurable

This paper proposes a MA-MS MA (mobile service management architecture based on mobile agent) for grid computing and detailedly describes its service discovery. At the meta-level, a hierarchy of identical agents is used to provide an abstraction of the system architecture. Each agent is able to provide grid services and request grid services. When an agent moves with its grid services, some registration and un-registration processes are invoked, and mobile service discovery should be timely and efficient. MA-MSMA provides an efficient way to support highly dynamic and mobile grid services. Its mobile service discovery takes an efficient way for grid mobile services

Active Queue Management (AQM) is an effective method to enhance congestion control, and to achieve tradeoff between link utilization and delay. The de facto standard, Random Early Detection (RED), and most of its variants use queue length as congestion indicator to trigger packet dropping. As an extension of RED, a novel AQM algorithm, called NPI-RED, is proposed in this paper. The NPI-RED is based on a novel proportional and integral controller, which not only considers the average queue length at the current time slot, but also takes into consideration the past average queue lengths within a round trip time. We provide a guideline for the selection of the feedback gains for TCP/RED system to stabilize the dynamics, make the queue length converge at a certain target and improve the network performance. We present the condition of asymptotic stability for the model in terms of the average queue length, by using a method, in which we construct a Routh table associated with the characteristic polynomial. Based on the stability condition and control gains selection method, the extensive simulation results by ns2 demonstrate that the NPI-RED algorithm outperforms than the existed AQM schemes in robustness, drop probability and stability. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

A novel routing scheme named by Ant-CEDAR for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), which enhances Core-Extraction Distributed Ad hoc Routing algorithm (CEDAR) using ant-like mobile agents is proposed in this paper. The proposed protocol reduces route discovery latency and package delay by using only a subset of nodes in the network for route management and avoiding the use of broadcast relays. Ant-CEDAR uses ants to establish and maintain core, and discover destination nodes. It tries to utilize the advantages of both ant algorithms and CEDAR. The results of simulation experiments imply Ant-CEDAR gains more efficiency and lower cost.
