Based on the theories of EA (Evolutionary Algorithm) and EHW (Evolvable Hardware), we devise an EHW based software-hardware co designing platform ECDP, on which we provided standards for hardware system encoding and evolving operation designing, as well as circuit emulating tools. The major features of this system are: two layer-encoding of circuit structure, off-line evolving with software cmulation and the evolving of genetic program designing. Originated from human immune system, artificial immune system has been widely applied in the computational fields, especially for the task of anomaly detection. Although intensively investigated in the literature, most of the artificial immune systems involve the process of model pre-definition according to the specific scenarios to be coped with. The pre-definition, however, could cause the system to be unreliable and inflexible. Instead, we propose in this paper an integrated artificial immune system platform, which can automatically adapt to various types of immune models. For a particular object to be detected, the platform is able to configure the model set dynamically based on the "pressure" produced during the course of training and testing. In addition, a hybrid evaluation of multi-AIS-models is employed in the integrated platform to improve the self-adaptability of the system.

Providing integrated access to multiple, distributed, heterogeneous databases has become very important. Smalltalk can be used to achieve such an objectivity since Smalltalk can provide tools to connect commercial databases like Oracle and Sybase. We also developed tools to connect open source databases like Post-greSQL. Using these tools, data from multiple heterogenous databases can be extracted and mapped into objects in Smalltalk, where their syntactical and semantical conflicts can be resolved by object deputy model. An object deputy language is designed based on object deputy algebra and its compiler has been implemented in Smalltalk. In order to facilitate the use of object deputy language for data integration, we implemented an object deputy browser in Smalltalk.

In order to build an open, large-scale and interoperable distributed intelligent medical diagnosis and therapy system in the context of a wide-area network such as the Internet, this paper studies integrating mobile agent and ontology with Web Services. A model (called DMDTMAO: distributed medical diagnosis and therapy based on mobile agent and ontology) for this goal is proposed. This paper describes the architecture of the DMDTMAO model and how to integrate mobile agent and ontology with Web services within the DMDTMAO model. Employing agent enables the DMDTMAO model to re-configure system according to existing available services and actual needs. Mobile agent relieves the influence of transport delay in wide-area network. Using ontology as a standard Web service, it avoids misunderstandings in agent communication. Furthermore, it assures the correctness of matching agent services according to semantics accurately in service register server like the UDDI registry. A simulation based on JADEtrade, a Java-compliant mobile agent platform from TIlab, demonstrated the feasibility of this model. A novel routing scheme named by Ant-CEDAR for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), which enhances Core-Extraction Distributed Ad hoc Routing algorithm (CEDAR) using ant-like mobile agents is proposed in this paper. The proposed protocol reduces route discovery latency and package delay by using only a subset of nodes in the network for route management and avoiding the use of broadcast relays. Ant-CEDAR uses ants to establish and maintain core, and discover destination nodes. It tries to utilize the advantages of both ant algorithms and CEDAR. The results of simulation experiments imply Ant-CEDAR gains more efficiency and lower cost.
