Smartphones with large screens provide users with increased display and interaction space but pose challenges in reaching certain areas with the thumb when using the device with one hand. To address this, we introduce GazeSwipe, a multimodal interaction technique that combines eye gaze with finger-swipe gestures, enabling intuitive and low-friction reach on mobile touchscreens. Specifically, we design a gaze estimation method that eliminates the need for explicit gaze calibration. Our approach also avoids the use of additional eye-tracking hardware by leveraging the smartphone’s built-in front-facing camera. Considering the potential decrease in gaze accuracy without dedicated eye trackers, we use finger-swipe gestures to compensate for any inaccuracies in gaze estimation. Additionally, we introduce a user-unaware auto-calibration method that improves gaze accuracy during interaction. Through extensive experiments on smartphones and tablets, we compare our technique with various methods for touchscreen reachability and evaluate the performance of our auto-calibration strategy. The results demonstrate that our method achieves high success rates and is preferred by users. The findings also validate the effectiveness of the auto-calibration strategy. © 2025, CC BY.

Holographic 3D display is highly desirable for numerous applications ranging from medical treatments to military ***,it is challenging to simultaneously achieve large viewing angle and high-fidelity color reconstruction due to the intractable constraints of existing ***,we conceptually propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple and feasible pathway of using a well-designed color liquid crystal grating to overcome the inevitable chromatic aberration and enlarge the holographic viewing angle,thus enabling large-viewing-angle and color holographic 3D *** use of color liquid crystal grating allows performing secondary diffraction modulation on red,green and blue reproduced images simultaneously and extending the viewing angle in the holographic 3D display *** principle,a chromatic aberration-free hologram generation mechanism in combination with the color liquid crystal grating is proposed to pave the way for on such a superior holographic 3D *** proposed system shows a color viewing angle of~50.12°,which is about 7 times that of the traditional system with a single spatial light *** work presents a paradigm for achieving desirable holographic 3D display,and is expected to provide a new way for the wide application of holographic display.

The introduction of path planning and visual navigation in vascular interventional surgery can provide an intuitive reference and guidance for doctors. In this study, based on the preprocessing results of vessel skeleton extraction and stenosis diagnosis in X-ray coronary angiography images, clustering is used to determine the connectivity of the intersection points, and then the improved Dijkstra algorithm is used to automatically plan the surgical path. On this basis, the intermediate point is introduced to piecewise correct the path and improve the accuracy of the system. Finally, the epipolar constrained inverse projection transformation is used to reconstruct the coronary artery 3D model, and the optimal path is marked to achieve a multi-angle 3D visual navigation. Clinical experimental results show that compared with the traditional Dijkstra algorithm, the improved method can reduce the need for intermediate points, which improves computational efficiency, and the average error of manual calibration path is reduced to 4% of that before overall optimization. The results of 3D reconstruction and reprojection further qualitatively and quantitatively verify the effectiveness of the whole scheme. © 2023, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The convergent plate margins of Paleo-Tethys Ocean and Neo-Tethys Ocean are the two orogenic belts in the eastern Tethyan realm with the best exposures of igneous *** studies have revealed that both belts have developed not only island arc basalts(IAB)-like mafic magmatism but also ocean island basalts(OIB)±mid-ocean ridge basalts(MORB)-like mafic magmatism in various stages of their formation and *** different types of mafic igneous rocks show both similarity and difference that were acquired in the various stages from oceanic subduction through continental collision to intracontinental *** examination and comparison of these igneous rocks can provide insights into the tectonic evolution of the eastern Tethyan *** study integrates the spatiotemporal distribution and geochemical compositions of Mesozoic and Cenozoic primitive mafic igneous rocks in the eastern Tethyan realm within *** results show:(1)in addition to the stage of oceanic subduction,the stages of continental collision and intracontinental reworking are the primary periods of mafic magmatic activity at convergent plate margins,consistent across the Paleo-Tethyan and Neo-Tethyan domains.(2)OIB(±MORB)-like mafic igneous rocks are present not only in the stage of continental collision in both domains but also in the stage of intracontinental reworking in the Paleo-Tethyan domain.(3)In the stages from oceanic subduction to continental collision,the compositions of IAB-like mafic igneous rocks in both domains exhibit continuous variations,with remarkable similarities in lithology,elemental and isotopic characteristics,indicating their formation through similar deep geodynamic processes—partial melting of the mantle wedge metasomatized by subducting slab-derived fluids in the forms of aqueous solution and/or hydrous *** a consequence,the mafic igneous rocks display more compositional inheritance than *** the stage of continental collision,

Frequency diverse array(FDA) offer potential applications for enhancing the RF safety performance of FDA systems. This is due to the time-varying angle-distance coupling characteristics of the transmit beam map, which are caused by small frequency shifts between subarray elements. In this paper, we investigate the impact of coherent FDA signals on amplitude-based direction-finding systems, taking the Watson-Watt direction-finding system as an example. Firstly, we establish receiving model for direction finding of FDA signals. Secondly, we evaluate the error of the direction-finding system when using coherent FDA signals and analyze it with the Cramér-Rao lower bound(CRLB). Finally, we conduct a simulation analysis to validate the proposed theory. Both the theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that coherent FDA signals can improve the radio frequency(RF) stealth performance. Specifically, the analysis and simulation results reveal that coherent FDA signals exhibit superior low-intercept performance for the Watson-Watt direction-finding system. These findings can be applied to all amplitude direction-finding systems. © 2024 IEEE.

In the field of computer vision, the acquired dataset usually contains a certain number of outliers and noise, which leads to errors in the estimated mathematical model. RANSAC estimates model parameters by randomly selecting a subset of the data, reducing the impact of these outliers and noise. However, for datasets with a high proportion of inliers, the traditional RANSAC has to perform a large number of cyclic modeling operations after finding the correct model. In this paper, a conditional termination verification strategy for RANSAC is presented. We boldly terminated the cycle operation early which reduced the amount of computation by 17.78% and increased the computation speed by 34.09%. © 2024 IEEE.

Finding distinctions and connections between multiple visual targets through the detection of keypoints has become one of the research hot-spots in the field of computer vision. SIFT has received wide recognition and attention for its powerful performance in image match. However, the original SIFT has high complexity and time-consuming problems. In this paper, we propose Simple SIFT (S-SIFT), an improved SIFT algorithm in which the construction of Gaussian pyramid and the order of detection steps have been changed. Through the collaborative improvement and optimization on the scale space and algorithm framework, a more efficient local keypoints detecting method is achieved. Experiments demonstrat that SSIFT guarantees satisfactory accuracy with a significant reduction in the computational overhead. Meanwhile, S-SIFT is robust to common image deformations such as rotation, scale change and affine. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to the prediction errors and diverse driving styles of surrounding vehicles, traffic congestion and even accidents can occur in the traffic bottleneck area where vehicles merge into the main road. To ensure that connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) can quickly and efficiently merge into the main road, this paper proposes a cooperative trajectory planning method based on optimal control for vehicle cut-in scenarios. A optimal control model is constructed, and a quintic polynomial is used to generate the initial solution of the optimal control problem to accelerate the solution process and improve the success rate. Finally, The obtained merging trajectory is then synchronized with the movement of vehicles on the main road to optimize their actions and ensure a safe merging process. Joint simulation with Robot Operating system (ROS) and RVIZ is utilized, and the results show that the proposed algorithm can quickly obtain cooperative results, the locally successful merging trajectory meets the requirements of smoothness and safety, and if the solution does not allow merging, the merging vehicle is instructed to terminate the execution. © 2023 IEEE.

Furfural content in oil is considered as an effective parameter to evaluate the ageing state of oil-immersed *** previous thermal ageing experiments at 130℃,we found that moisture increment in oil-paper system makes more furfural distribute in ***,the microcosmic mechanism of moisture effect on furfural diffusion from paper to oil is still unknown,and the furfural equilibrium law at transformers'typical operating temperatures is also unclear,resulting in the unreliability of the existed furfural evaluation *** elucidate the above problems,molecular dynamics simulation and furfural equilibrium experiments at 60℃ were carried out at different moisture *** results show that high moisture content makes part of furfural diffuse from paper to oil *** moisture content increases from 1% to 2%,mass fraction of furfural in oil may increase from 32.98% to 49.83%,leading to furfural content in oil increases from 0.76 mg/L to 1.06 mg/L when the degree of polymerisation of insulation paper is about 524,which increased by 39.5%.The increase in moisture content makes cellulose form hydrogen bonds with H_(2)O preferentially,decreasing the hydrogen bonds interaction between cellulose and ***,partial furfural falls off cellulose and diffuses into oil,leading to an increase in furfural content in *** eliminate the moisture interference,a corrected furfural assessment model based on the moisture equilibrium curve has been constructed,which can accurately evaluate the ageing state of insulation paper regardless of the moisture influence.
