Text entry is an important task in virtual reality (VR), and most existing methods require hand involvement, while hands-free typing has great potential for applications in mobile scenarios. Existing hands-free text entry methods are usually implemented by combining the head and eyes with techniques such as Dwell, Blink and Gesture, which can easily fatigue the user. In this paper, we propose LipText, a lip-tracking-based text entry method in VR. We use a neural network to perform letter-level prediction on the lip data captured by the facial tracker and use head-based selection as an auxiliary to improve the accuracy. We conduct a user study to evaluate our method, the results show a typing speed of 8.63 WPM for the novice group, 9.81 WPM for the potential expert group, and the highest recorded typing speed is 11.13 WPM achieved by a potential expert. Our method is also novice-friendly, and their typing speed increased by 64.38% over a six-day practice. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

How to Use Diffusion Priors under Sparse Views?

Novel view synthesis under sparse views has been a long-term important challenge in 3D reconstruction. Existing works mainly rely on introducing external semantic or depth priors to supervise the optimization of 3D representations. However, the diffusion model, as an external prior that can directly provide visual supervision, has always underperformed in sparse-view 3D reconstruction using Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) due to the low information entropy of sparse views compared to text, leading to optimization challenges caused by mode deviation. To this end, we present a thorough analysis of SDS from the mode-seeking perspective and propose Inline Prior Guided Score Matching (IPSM), which leverages visual inline priors provided by pose relationships between viewpoints to rectify the rendered image distribution and decomposes the original optimization objective of SDS, thereby offering effective diffusion visual guidance without any fine-tuning or pre-training. Furthermore, we propose the IPSM-Gaussian pipeline, which adopts 3D Gaussian Splatting as the backbone and supplements depth and geometry consistency regularization based on IPSM to further improve inline priors and rectified distribution. CauseJudger: Identifying the Cause with LLMs for Abductive Logical Reasoning

Large language models (LLMs) have been utilized in solving diverse reasoning tasks, encompassing common sense, arithmetic and deduction tasks. However, with difficulties of reversing thinking patterns and irrelevant premises, how to determine the authenticity of the cause in abductive logical reasoning remains underexplored. Inspired by hypothesis and verification method and identification of irrelevant information in human thinking process, we propose a new framework for LLMs abductive logical reasoning called CauseJudger (CJ), which identifies the authenticity of possible cause by transforming thinking from reverse to forward and removing irrelevant information. In addition, we construct an abductive logical reasoning dataset for decision task called CauseLogics, which contains 200,000 tasks of varying reasoning lengths. Our experiments show the efficiency of CJ with overall experiments and ablation experiments as well as case studies on our dataset and reconstructed public dataset. Notably, CJ’s implementation is efficient, requiring only two calls to LLM. Its impact is profound: when using gpt-3.5, CJ achieves a maximum correctness improvement of 41% compared to Zero-Shot-CoT. Moreover, with gpt-4, CJ attains an accuracy exceeding 90% across all datasets. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Point cloud learning has gained significant attention in 3D multimedia. However, existing methods learn point-wise features in a homogeneous manner, disregarding the heterogeneity that inherently exists in point clouds. Embedding the heterogeneity into feature learning is favorable to learning more discriminative point-wise features with rich geometric structures. In this work, we are the first to analyze and utilize the heterogeneity of point clouds, namely geometric heterogeneity and category heterogeneity. We hence propose two general heterogeneous graph convolutions to exploit such heterogeneity, including Geometric Heterogeneous Graph Convolution (GHGC) and Category Heterogeneous Graph Convolution (CHGC). We implement a point heterogeneous graph neural network (PointHGN) based on classical MLP-based point cloud pipelines, without altering network configurations. Experimental results on point cloud semantic segmentation tasks manifest that our PointHGN achieves commendable performance on public datasets. Our proposed method provides an effective and alternative approach for point cloud learning that researchers can explore further. © 2023 IEEE.

Remote sensing images are essential for various applications such as environmental monitoring and urban planning. However, the spatial resolution of these images often hinders the accurate detection of small-scale or densely packed targets. In this work, we advocate a novel method that introduces clustering into local super-resolution networks to enhance image resolution and improve the detectability of small-scale and dense regions. First, K-means clustering is applied to identify dense areas based on both the color and spatial properties of image pixels, efficiently pinpointing regions where small objects are concentrated. Next, a lightweight cross-attention-based super-resolution network is employed to enhance the resolution of these key regions, which improves object detection accuracy. The proposed method is computationally efficient, incorporating depthwise separable convolutions and focusing the cross-attention mechanism on regions of interest, thereby minimizing overhead. Extensive experiments on the WV-3 and DOTA datasets demonstrate that our method significantly improves image quality, outperforming existing methods in terms of both PSNR and SSIM. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Text-driven 3D Human Generation via Contrastive Preference Optimization

Recent advancements in Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) have significantly improved text-driven 3D human generation, enabling plausible synthesis from natural language descriptions. However, existing methods struggle with fine-grained semantic alignment, leading to inconsistencies in structure, texture, and attribute representation. To address these challenges, we propose a contrastive preference modeling framework that integrates both positive and negative prompts to enhance SDS. This approach refines text-conditioned generation, improving semantic consistency and 3D fidelity. Specifically, we introduce a preference optimization module that aggregates knowledge from multiple preference models to ensure accurate representation of intricate attributes and nuanced details. Additionally, we propose a negation preference module with static-dynamic negation prompts to systematically distinguish relevant details from extraneous elements, ensuring geometric and textural consistency. To further mitigate artifacts and prevent reward hacking, we develop an LLM-driven dynamic negation prompting mechanism that analyzes textual inputs, decomposes complex attributes, and filters irrelevant components. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance, significantly enhancing texture realism, structure coherence, and overall visual alignment, particularly for complex and lengthy textual descriptions. © 2025, CC BY.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional teaching has been migrated online. Different from traditional face-to-face teaching, when students learn online, the online learning platform will generate various data. And these data make it possible for us to analyze students' final academic performance. In this paper, we use structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationship between students' learning factors. It is found that students' lab scores (LS), exercise scores (LS) and participation in the discussion (PID) have a direct impact on their final programming scores (FPS). This paper also finds that students' assignment submissions have an indirect influence on their final programming scores (FPS) but have a direct effect on lab scores (LS). In addition, students' participation in the discussion (PID) has an indirect influence on assignment submissions (AS) and lab scores (LS). The research in this paper can provide instructional designers with references for instructional design. © 2022 IEEE.

Accurate radiographic reports are crucial for effective clinical decision-making and patient safety, as they directly influence diagnosis and treatment plans. Existing models for radiographic report generation often struggle with integrating medical image and textual report features and addressing data imbalances. To overcome these limitations, we propose an enhanced cross-modal aligned retrieval-driven network (EARnet). Our model incorporates two key innovations: Enhanced Cross-modal Alignment (ECA) module and Case-based Retrieval Augmenter (CRA) module. ECA ensures the effective integration of medical visual and textual data by aligning these modalities. CRA helps mitigate data imbalance by improving the representation of medical information and ensuring a more balanced and comprehensive coverage of both normal and abnormal cases. This dual-module approach significantly improves the coherence and accuracy of the generated medical reports. Evaluation results demonstrate that our EARnet model substantially outperforms existing methods in terms of report quality and accuracy across multiple metrics. Oxidation behaviour of undopedβ-NiAl andβ-NiAl-0.05Hf single crystals were investigated at 1100℃in 20 vol%O_(2)+Ar and 15 vol%H2O+Ar,*** contrary to the well-known beneficial effect of Hf additions on the oxidation behaviour of polycrystallineβ-NiAl,severe-scale spallation is observed forβ-NiAl-0.05Hf single-crystal alloy,especially in dry *** is proposed that the presence of the grain boundaries in the polycrystalline substrate enables proper content of Hf segregating at the grain boundaries of the oxide scale and at the scale-substrate interface,which promotes the conditions required for reactive element *** the reactive element effect of Hf does not work,its strong affinity with oxygen will accelerate the process of high-temperature ***,the absence of the grain boundaries as fast diffusion paths partially compromises the adverse influence of water vapour on cyclic oxidation resistance ofβ-NiAl single crystal,resulting in considerable suppression of the oxidation rate and less loss of protection compared with that in dry *** addition,interfacial cavities are observed in dry and humid atmospheres,which may eventually result in the spallation of the oxide scale.
