Layout Decomposition via Boolean Satisfiability

Multiple patterning lithography (MPL) has been introduced in the integrated circuits manufacturing industry to enhance feature density as the technology node advances. A crucial step of MPL is assigning layout features to different masks, namely layout decomposition. Exact algorithms like integer linear programming (ILP) can solve layout decomposition to optimality but lack scalab.lity for dense patterns. Relaxation algorithms (e.g., linear programming and semi-definite programming) and heuristics (e.g., exact cover) are capable of handling large cases at the cost of inferior solution quality. These methods rely on different mathematical solvers and expert-designed heuristics to offer a balance between solution quality and computational efficiency. In this article, we propose a unified layout decomposition framework comprising three algorithms: 1) satisfiability (SAT)-exact;2) SAT-bilevel;and 3) SAT-fast, all leveraging the capabilities of Boolean SAT solvers. The SAT-exact ensures optimality, but with faster convergence than ILP, SAT-bilevel addresses the decomposition as a bilevel optimization problem for rapid near-optimal solutions, and SAT-fast handles very large layouts in an incremental manner. Experimental results demonstrate our framework's superiority over existing state-of-the-art methods in terms of solution quality and runtime. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to understand in depth the interface characteristics between Ti particles and Mg matrix, and reveal the strengthening mechanism of Ti particles reinforced Mg matrix composites, the interface structure, work of adhesion and the interface electronic structure of the Mg(0001)/Ti(0001) interface have been studied by experiments combined with first-principles methods. The calculation results of the work of adhesion show that the Ti-HCP interface is more stable than the Ti-OT interface. The electronic structure analysis results show that the Ti-Mg bond formed at the Ti-OT interface has a weak covalence and exhibits the characteristics of a Ti-Mg ionic bond. The electronic characteristics of the Ti-HCP interface are metallic bonds. © 2024 75th World Foundry Congress, WFC 2024. All rights reserved.

Micro-Doppler Analysis (MDA) of rigid-body targets is crucial for various practical downstream tasks such as target imaging and recognition. Radar echoes from micro-moving targets typically represent non-stationary signals and are often described using the parameterized Time-Varying Auto Regressive (TVAR) model. Sparse Bayesian Learning (SBL) is commonly employed to estimate time-invariant coefficients, thereby achieving high-resolution micro-Doppler time-frequency distributions. Despite its effectiveness, SBL-based optimization methods often face inefficiency due to the computational burden of inverse operation. To address this challenge and enhance the efficiency of MDA based on TVAR model, we propose a Sparse Bayesian Network (SBN) that unfolds a fast Mean Field SBL (MF) using a deep variational autoencoding framework. This method retains the optimization effectiveness of SBL while incorporating the inference efficiency of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs). Our proposed method demonstrates strong generalization capabilities, performing well on both simulated and measured radar echoes. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate a green federated learning (FL) framework over cloud radio access network (Cloud-RAN) system that comprises a server, multiple devices and remote radio heads (RRHs). Each device utilizes quantized neural networks (QNNs) and sends quantized model parameters to the server to save energy consumption via RRHs. The server aggregates all the signals to update the global model parameters and broadcasts the updated parameters to the selected devices. In this context, we propose an energy consumption model for the QNN training and communication model over Cloud-RAN. We develop an energy minimization problem based on the proposed energy model. We jointly design fronthaul rate allocation, device transmit power, and precision level of QNNs while ensuring target accuracy, transmit power budget and limited fronthaul capacity. Guided by the convergence analysis, we adopt alternative optimization method to solve the energy minimization problem. The simulation outcomes demonstrate that the FL framework suggested can considerably diminish energy usage in comparison to other traditional methods. This has immense potential in realizing a sustainable and eco-friendly FL over Cloud-RAN. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the 'dimension explosion' challenge of fuzzy systems in high-dimensional data processing, this paper proposes an algorithm of DPFS (Deep progressive fuzzy system), whose structure is the connection of many low-dimensional fuzzy systems. Through the comparison of experiments with different data sets, it is found that: *** algorithm retains the advantages of strong interpretability of the fuzzy system. *** DPFS algorithm, characterized by its progressive structure, exhibits a superiority of 7.9% over machine learning algorithms like BP and RBF. Moreover, it outperforms fuzzy system algorithms such as DNFS by more than 31.5% in terms of accuracy on the BF dataset. The research demonstrates that DPFS serves as an effective fuzzy system inference algorithm capable of effectively handling high-dimensional data, showcasing robust comprehensive capabilities. © 2023 IEEE.

Joint flexibility is usually ignored in traditional industrial robot modeling, which affects the control accuracy. For flexible joints in robots and the current industrial status of sliding mode control, an improved sliding mode control method based on singular perturbation was proposed for engineering application. Firstly, according to Spong hypothesis, Based on singular perturbation theory, establish an uncertain multi-joint robot arm dynamics model with flexible joints. Considering the common application of sliding mode control in industrial production, an improved sliding mode variable structure controller is designed to decouple the nonlinear part of the dynamic model to ensure the practicability of field workers' parameter adjustment. A feedback-based vibration suppression controller is designed to address the elastic vibration of joints. The final experiment showed that the two joints accurately tracked the expected trajectory in 1.2s. © 2023 IEEE.

With the wide adoption of Web APIs released on Internet, users tend to reuse them for business requirements or software development. Mashup is a useful technology for composing Web APIs into a new and value-added application. With the increasing number of Web APIs and Mashups, the API-Mashup ecosystem has emerged based on the invocation relationship between Mashups and Web APIs. In this paper, we take ProgrammableWeb, a typical API-Mashup ecosystem, as an example to investigate its dynamic evolutionary analysis. Although there have been some works on the API-Mashup ecosystem, they mainly focus on static analysis, i.e., the static characteristics of the API- Mashup ecosystem on a fixed time point. This paper conducts a comprehensive study on the dynamic evolutionary analysis of the API-Mashup ecosystem with a long time range from 2005 to 2021. First, we conduct a dynamic statistical analysis based on the API-Mashup ecosystem dataset. Next, we construct two cooperation networks, one between Web APIs, and the other between their categories. And the general characteristics of the two cooperation networks are presented. Finally, we investigate the derived cooperation networks from four perspectives: dynamic characteristics, degree distribution, betweenness centrality, and assortative mixing. Meanwhile, the corresponding insights are uncovered. Our work provides a foundation for visualization and understanding of the API-Mashup ecosystem from the timeline. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of Mashup technique, the number of Web APIs released on the Web continues to grow year by year. However, it is a challenging issue to find and select the desirable Web APIs among the large amount of Web APIs. Consequently, interactive Web API recommendation is used to alleviate the difficulty of service selection, when users or developers try to invoke Web APIs for solving their business requirements or software development requirements. Currently, there are several collab.rative filtering based approaches proposed for Web API recommendation, while their recommendation performance is limited on both optimality and scalab.lity. This paper proposes a light neural graph collab.rative filtering based Web API recommendation approach, named LNGCF. Specifically, LNGCF learns user and item embeddings by linearly propagating them on the user-item interaction graph, and uses the weighted summation of the embeddings learned at all layers as the final embedding. Such simple, linear, and neat model is much easier to implement and train. A set of experiments are conducted on a real-world dataset. Experimental results demonstrate the substantial improvements on both optimality and scalab.lity over the baselines. © 2023 IEEE.

Dislocations and disclinations are fundamental topological defects within crystals,which determine the mechanical properties of metals and *** their important roles in multiple physical mecha-nisms,e.g.,dynamic recovery and grain boundary mediated plasticity,the intrinsic coupling and corre-lation between disclinations and dislocations,and their impacts on the deformation behavior of metallic materials still remain obscure,partially due to the lack of a theoretical tool to capture the rotational na-ture of *** using a Lie-algebra-based theoretical framework,we obtain a general equation to quantify the intrinsic coupling of disclinations and *** quasi in-situ electron backscat-ter diffraction characterizations and disclination/dislocation density analyses in Mg alloys,the generation,coevolution and reactions of disclinations and dislocations during dynamic recovery and superplastic de-formation have been quantitatively *** has been demonstrated that the obtained governing equa-tion can capture multiple physical processes associated with mechanical deformation of metals,e.g.,grain rotation and grain boundary migration,at both room temperature and high *** establishing the disclination-dislocation coupling equation within a Lie algebra description,our work provides new insights for exploring the coevolution and reaction of disclinations/dislocations,with profound implica-tions for elucidating the microstructure-property relationship and underlying deformation mechanisms in metallic materials.
