Existing 3D object detection suffers from expensive annotation costs and poor transferability to unknown data due to the domain gap, Unsupervised Domain Adaptation (UDA) aims to generalize detection models trained in lab.led source domains to perform robustly on unexplored target domains, providing a promising solution for cross-domain 3D object detection. Although Self-Training (ST) based cross-domain 3D detection methods with the assistance of pseudo-lab.ling techniques have achieved remarkable progress, they still face the issue of low-quality pseudo-lab.ls when there are significant domain disparities due to the absence of a process for feature distribution alignment. While Adversarial Learning (AL) based methods can effectively align the feature distributions of the source and target domains, the inability to obtain lab.ls in the target domain forces the adoption of asymmetric optimization losses, resulting in a challenging issue of source domain bias. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel unsupervised domain adaptation framework for 3D object detection via collab.rating ST and AL, dubbed as STAL3D, unleashing the complementary advantages of pseudo lab.ls and feature distribution alignment. Additionally, a Background Suppression Adversarial Learning (BS-AL) module and a Scale Filtering Module (SFM) are designed tailored for 3D cross-domain scenes, effectively alleviating the issues of the large proportion of background interference and source domain size bias. Our STAL3D achieves state-of-the-art performance on multiple cross-domain tasks and even surpasses the Oracle results on Waymo $\rightarrow$ KITTI and Waymo $\rightarrow$ KITTI-rain. IEEE

swSpAMM:optimizing large-scale sparse approximate matrix multiplication on Sunway Taihulight

Although matrix multiplication plays an essential role in a wide range of applications,previous works only focus on optimizing dense or sparse matrix *** Sparse Approximate Matrix Multiply(SpAMM)is an algorithm to accelerate the multiplication of decay matrices,the sparsity of which is between dense and sparse *** addition,large-scale decay matrix multiplication is performed in scientific applications to solve cutting-edge *** optimize large-scale decay matrix multiplication using SpAMM on supercomputers such as Sunway Taihulight,we present swSpAMM,an optimized SpAMM algorithm by adapting the computation characteristics to the architecture features of Sunway ***,we propose both intra-node and inter-node optimizations to accelerate swSpAMM for large-scale *** intra-node optimizations,we explore algorithm parallelization and block-major data layout that are tailored to better utilize the architecture advantage of Sunway *** inter-node optimizations,we propose a matrix organization strategy for better distributing sub-matrices across nodes and a dynamic scheduling strategy for improving load balance across *** compare swSpAMM with the existing GEMM library on a single node as well as large-scale matrix multiplication methods on multiple *** experiment results show that swSpAMM achieves a speedup up to 14.5×and 2.2×when compared to xMath library on a single node and 2D GEMM method on multiple nodes,respectively.

QAAS:quick accurate auto-scaling for streaming processing

In recent years,the demand for real-time data processing has been increasing,and various stream processing systems have *** the amount of data input to the stream processing system fluctuates,the computing resources required by the stream processing job will also *** resources used by stream processing jobs need to be adjusted according to load changes,avoiding the waste of computing *** present,existing works adjust stream processing jobs based on the assumption that there is a linear relationship between the operator parallelism and operator resource consumption(e.g.,throughput),which makes a significant deviation when the operator parallelism *** paper proposes a nonlinear model to represent operator *** divide the operator performance into three stages,the Non-competition stage,the Non-full competition stage,and the Full competition *** our proposed performance model,given the parallelism of the operator,we can accurately predict the CPU utilization and operator *** with actual experiments,the prediction error of our model is below 5%.We also propose a quick accurate auto-scaling(QAAS)method that uses the operator performance model to implement the auto-scaling of the operator parallelism of the Flink *** to previous work,QAAS is able to maintain stable job performance under load changes,minimizing the number of job adjustments and reducing data backlogs by 50%.

ICCG:low-cost and efficient consistency with adaptive synchronization for metadata replication

The rapid growth in the storage scale of wide-area distributed file systems (DFS) calls for fast and scalab.e metadata management. Metadata replication is the widely used technique for improving the performance and scalab.lity of metadata management. Because of the POSIX requirement of file systems, many existing metadata management techniques utilize a costly design for the sake of metadata consistency, leading to unacceptable performance overhead. We propose a new metadata consistency maintenance method (ICCG), which includes an incremental consistency guaranteed directory tree synchronization (ICGDT) and a causal consistency guaranteed replica index synchronization (CCGRI), to ensure system performance without sacrificing metadata consistency. ICGDT uses a flexible consistency scheme based on the state of files and directories maintained through the conflict state tree to provide an incremental consistency for metadata, which satisfies both metadata consistency and performance requirements. CCGRI ensures low latency and consistent access to data by establishing a causal consistency for replica indexes through multi-version extent trees and logical time. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods. Compared with the strong consistency policies widely used in modern DFSes, our methods significantly improve the system performance. For example, in file creation, ICCG can improve the performance of directory tree operations by at least 36.4 times.

Building a domain-specific compiler for emerging processors with a reusable approach

High-performance computing and deep learning domains have been motivating the design of domain-specific *** these processors can provide promising computation capability,they are notorious for exotic programming *** improve programming productivity and fully exploit the performance potential of these processors,domain-specific compilers(DSCs) have been ***,building DSCs for emerging processors requires tremendous engineering efforts because the commonly used compilation stack is difficult to be *** to the advent of multilevel intermediate representation(MLIR),DSC developers can leverage reusable infrastructure to extend their customized functionalities without rebuilding the entire compilation *** this paper,we further demonstrate the effectiveness of MLIR by extending its reusable infrastructure to embrace a heterogeneous many-core processor(Sunway processor).In particular,we design a new Sunway dialect and corresponding backend for the Sunway processor,fully exploiting its architectural advantage and hiding its programming *** show the ease of building a DSC,we leverage the Sunway dialect and existing MLIR dialects to build a stencil compiler for the Sunway *** experimental results show that our stencil compiler,built with a reusable approach,can even perform better than state-of-the-art stencil compilers.

Multi‐object tracking in autonomous driving is a non‐linear *** better address the tracking problem,this paper leveraged an unscented Kalman filter to predict the object's *** the association stage,the Mahalanobis distance was employed as an affinity metric,and a Non‐minimum Suppression method was designed for *** the detections fed into the tracker and continuous‘predicting‐matching’steps,the states of each object at different time steps were described as their own continuous *** conducted extensive experiments to evaluate tracking accuracy on three challenging datasets(KITTI,nuScenes and Waymo).The experimental results demon-strated that our method effectively achieved multi‐object tracking with satisfactory ac-curacy and real‐time efficiency.

Tracking the flow of external inputs in a program with taint-analysis techniques can help developers better identify potential security vulnerabilities in the software. However, directly using the static taint analysis provided by Clang Static Analyzer is inefficient for large-scale software due to the huge but redundant ExplodedGraph generated. Therefore, we propose an efficient Whole-Program Critical Paths Search (CAPS) framework. It first performs a set of optimizations to reduce the ExplodedGraph of each function. Then, it constructs a global exploded graph by inserting call edges among the reduced ExplodedGraphs for each function within the Neo4j graph database. Finally, it proposes loop removal and graph segmentation to optimize the search process for critical paths on the global exploded graph. Our experiments on 3 large-scale software show that CAPS can significantly improve the efficiency of critical path search for large-scale software. © 2023 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate school. Minimizing the cost of periodically replicated systems via model and quantitative analysis

Geographically replicating objects across multiple data centers improves the performance and reliability of cloud storage *** consistent replicas comes with high synchronization costs,as it faces more expensive WAN transport prices and increased *** replication is the widely used technique to reduce the synchronization *** replication strategies in existing cloud storage systems are too static to handle traffic changes,which indicates that they are inflexible in the face of unforeseen loads,resulting in additional synchronization *** propose quantitative analysis models to quantify consistency and synchronization cost for periodically replicated systems,and derive the optimal synchronization period to achieve the best tradeoff between consistency and synchronization *** on this,we propose a dynamic periodic synchronization method,Sync-Opt,which allows systems to set the optimal synchronization period according to the variable load in clouds to minimize the synchronization *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of our *** with the policies widely used in modern cloud storage systems,the Sync-Opt strategy significantly reduces the synchronization cost.
