We present an efficient method to simulate the average K-factor in a reverberation chamber (RC). The proposed method is based on the duality between absorption and scattering of electromagnetic waves in an RC. By replacing the rotating stirrers with absorbers, the average K-factors can be estimated quickly. Compared with the direct simulation, the proposed method is very efficient and is 15 times faster. © 2022 IEEE.

Distributed multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar has attracted much attention for its improved detection and estimation performance as well as enhanced Electronic Counter-Counter Measures (ECCM) ability. In order to protect the target from being detected and tracked by such radar, we consider a barrage jamming strategy orienting towards a distributed MIMO. We first derive the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) of target parameters estimation using a distributed MIMO under barrage jamming environments. We then set maximizing the CRB as the criterion for jamming resource allocation, aiming at degrading the accuracy of target parameters estimation. Particle swarm optimization is utilized to solve the maximizing problem. Simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the the proposed strategy over traditional jamming methods. © 2019 IEEE.

A peptizing-hydrothermal method to prepare nanometer γ-AlOOH crystal powder with industrial Al(OH)3 as raw materials has been proposed in the present paper. The XRD and TEM results show the product is a pure γ type nanometer A100H crystal powder with average grain diameter of 70nm. Laser grading analysis indicates the average grain diameters of the product in the solution are 66.52nm in water and 84.33nm in N,N-dimethylformamide, respectively without surface modification and dispersant. The experimental result indicated that polymer/inorganic nano-composite with high content of nanometer AlOOH presents inorganic characteristic of polymer. The wear rate of the alumina ceramic ball sintered at 1465°C from ceramic, which contains 98% alumina (wt), can be reduced up to 40% with addition of 3.5% nanometer AlOOH.

Hydraulically damped rubber mount (HDM) is a kind of effective isolator in automotive powertrain. Fluid-structure interaction (FSI) between rubber parts and fluid flow in chambers in HDM is important to the vibration isolation performance of HDM. In this paper, a finite element (FE) based fluid-structure interaction analysis of HDM is investigated. Performance of a typical kind of HDM in a vehicle powertrain mounting system composed of rubber spring, two fluid chambers, fluid track and decoupler is selected to investigate performance prediction of HDM. Predicted characteristic analysis under typical working condition is verified by comparing with experiment results. © Civil-Comp Press, 2009.

Based on the idea of tightly coupled dipole array, a low profile, broadband circularly polarized array is designed in this paper. The circularly polarized phased array element consists of dual polarized dipoles with the same phase center and orthogonal arrangement, grounded coupling patches, resistive frequency selective surfaces (RFSS), and a 90° phase shifter network. In order to realize broadband scanning, the effect of RFSS on the input active voltage standing wave ratio and radiation axial ratio (AR) of the element is studied. The results show that the element can operate at 5-11.5GHz, within a ±45° angle scanning range, the AR of each scanning plane is less than 3dB, and the profile height is only 0.33 ? high. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We experimentally demonstrate wavelength multicasting based on free carrier dispersion effect in a silicon mode-split microring resonator with a radius of ∼10 μm. The mode-split of the resonator is caused by mutual coupling between the co-propagating and counter-propagating modes inside the microring resonator, which is induced by the periodic grating-like roughness of the sidewalls. The free carriers are generated through the two photon absorption (TPA) effect and blue shift the resonance spectrum. 1.25-Gb/s data carried by the pump is simultaneously converted to two probe channels placed in the split resonances separated by ∼0.326 nm. ©2009 IEEE.

In the present work, silica aerogel saturated with erythritol as phase change materials (PCMs) was prepared by melt infiltration. In the novel composite, erythritol with high latent heat of fusion was used as PCM for thermal control, whereas nanoporous silica aerogel was prepared as the phase change matrix to provide structural strength and prevent leakage of melted erythritol. Nitrogen gas adsorption curves and SEM analysis indicate that the pore structure of silica aerogel was porous and connected with each other. FTIR analysis showed that the composite formation of silica aerogel and erythritol were physical, whereas DSC analysis showed that the melting point and heat storage capacity of the composite were 123.8°C and 289.92 kJ/kg, respectively. The thermal protection properties of phase change composites were designed under lab.ratory conditions using a thermal measurement setup of a simulated thermal environment of an aircraft. Compared with the paraffin-silica aerogel composite, the erythritol-silica aerogel composite could rapidly control the rising temperature by absorbing heat under high thermal environments.

Actuator saturation is a ubiquitous phenomenon when the outputs of controllers reach the actuators' limits, and then the dynamic performances become worse. In this paper, an anti-windup compensator (A WC) is designed for the controller of the superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system to increase power system stability. First, power system with actuator saturation is modeled to formulate the problem mathematically. Then, uniform anti-windup scheme is studied and compensator is designed with method of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Instead of replacing the traditional controller with a new one, this paper makes use of the difference between the controller's and the actuator's output to mitigate the adverse influence of saturation, which leaves the original controller unaffected. Hence, this method can be used to enhance power system stability under the same capacity with its unsaturated controller so that SMES is utilized more efficiently.

China has been developed into one of the most active regions in terms of both fundamental and applied research on magnesium （Mg） and its alloys in the world from a solid base laid by its prominent metallurgist and materials scientists over the past decades. Nowadays, a large number of young-generation researchers have been inspired by their predecessors and become the key participants in the fields of Mg alloys, which consequently led to the establishment of China Youth Scholar Society for Magnesium Alloys Research in 2015. Since then, the first two China Youth Scholars Symposiums on Mg Alloys Research had been held at Harbin （2015） and Chongqing （2016） China, respectively. A number of crucial research inter- ests related to fundamental and applied Mg research were discussed at the conferences and summarized in this short perspective, aiming to boost far-reaching initiatives for development of new Mg-based materials to satisfy the requirements for a broad range of industrial employments. Herein, four main aspects are included as follows： i） Plastic deformation mechanism and strengthening strategy, ii） Design and development of new Mg-based materials, iii） key service properties, and iv） New processing technologies.
