In the field of nuclear fusion energy development, magnetic confinement tokamak reactors, which use strong magnetic fields to confine high-temperature plasmas, are crucial for sustainable and clean fusion energy. Disruption caused by plasma instability can terminate the fusion reaction and even cause irreparable damage to the equipment. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the underlying physical mechanisms is essential for predicting and preventing plasma disruption. The recently proposed analytical theory of plasma disruption may predict and prevent plasma disruption, but its validation requires the frequency-time signals. The Heavy Ion Beam Probe (HIBP) can provide such signals, however, because its scarcity in the world, particularly in China, it is necessary to develop more suitable methods. Here we show a new approach that employs Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on magnetic perturbation signals to obtain frequency-time diagrams. We successfully applied this algorithm to acquire the frequency-time diagram of the J-TEXT-1054560 discharge. This new method offers an effective tool for validating the plasma disruption theory, overcoming the limitations of traditional techniques and providing a crucial methodological basis for understanding and predicting plasma disruption. This new analytical approach will accelerate the advancement of fusion technology. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Oxygen vacancies enable modulating surface reconstruction of transition metal oxides containing metal-oxygen polyhedrons into metallic oxyhydroxide for oxygen evolution reaction(OER),while revealing reconstructing mechanism is stuck by the requirement to precisely control exact sites of these ***,oxygen vacancies are localized only within MoO_(4)tetrahedrons rather than CoO_(6)octahedrons in CoMoO_(4)catalyst,guaranteeing coherent reconstruction of CoO_(6)octahedrons into pure CoOOH with tunable activities for ***,distorted tetrahedron accelerates the dissolution of Mo atoms into alkaline electrolyte,triggering spontaneous transition of partial CoMoO_(4)into Co(OH)_(2).CoO_(6)octahedrons in both CoMoO_(4)and Co(OH)_(2)can transform pure CoOOH completely at lower potential,resulting in excess intrinsic activity whose summit is identified by overpotential at 10 mA cm^(-2)with 22.9%reduction and Tafel slope with 65.3%***-defined manipulation over the distorted polyhedrons offers one versatile knob to precisely modulate electronic structure of oxide catalysts with outstanding OER performance.

In this paper, a discontinuous projection-based output feedback adaptive robust learning control (OARLC) scheme is constructed for a class of nonlinear systems in a semi-strict feedback form by incorporating an observer and a dynamic normalization signal. Since only output signal is availab.e for measurement, an observer is firstly designed to provide exponentially convergent estimates of the unmeasurable states. Using certain known basis functions to capture the characteristics of unknown general periodic disturbances, the discontinuous projection type adaptation law can then be used to tune the amplitudes of those basis functions on-line to recover the unknown general periodic disturbances asymptotically. The estimation errors due to the unknown initial states, uncompensated disturbances, and the uncertain nonlinearities are also effectively dealt with via certain robust feedback at each step of the proposed OARLC backstepping design. The resulting controller achieves a guaranteed transient and a prescribed final tracking accuracy for output tracking performance. In addition, when the general periodic disturbances fall within the approximation ranges of the periodic basis functions, asymptotic output tracking performance is achieved as well. © 2011 IFAC.

To show the validity of swarm robots modeling and control properties influenced by resulting algorithmic parameter settings, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is extended to be tools for applying to swarm robotic search applications. For this end, a series of experimental simulations are conducted and the effects of key algorithmic parameters, i.e., communication range, detection radius, and swarm size emerge from the statistical results. In such control architecture, swarm robots are modeled at an abstract level with the extended PSO and each individual is assumed to be controlled under three-state finite state machine mechanism. Simulation results indicate the validity of modeling method. Besides, significant positive correlations between search efficiency and communication range, detection radius as well as swarm size are also found. ©2010 IEEE.

Natural disasters may wreak havoc on overhead transmission lines and cause communication outage of pilot protection. This paper proposes a communication channel reconstruction method based on wireless sensor network (WSN) modules of monitoring system. To meet the needs of pilot protection's time delay, a novel routing protocol for WSN is proposed based on GPS. It has three stages including route list establishment, route discovery and route maintenance, which assures the directional propagation of data packets in chain-type topology network. Practical experiments and simulations results indicates that the performance of the proposed routing protocol satisfies time delay of protection relaying as emergency communication channel, as well as guarantees the connectivity of network when some WSN nodes are damaged.

In this paper,by taking into account the coupling of the ionization of ablation gas and atmosphere,an electrons density distribution model is built. Using this model,the transmission properties of different polarization radar wave through sheath are evaluated on the basis of the transmission matrix theory. Then,we discuss the effects of the electrons density,the added magnetic field,and the radar wave frequency on the transmission properties. As a result of this investigation,greater transmission power could be gained in order to efficiently shorten communication blackout,by reducing the electrons density or choosing proper added magnetic field and the frequency of the radar wave according to the different polarization form of the radar wave.

Characterization of High-Performance Nanostructured Wick for Heat Pipes

To investigate the best performance wick forms to support the design and fabrication of high-performance heat pipes, in this paper, two kinds of nanostructured wick were prepared by the oxidation-reduction method. The effect of surface nanostructure on the wick performance was investigated by comparing the surface characteristics, capillary properties, permeability, and evaporation properties. The result shows that the nanostructured wick presented excellent super hydrophilic properties. A liquid-lift visualization experimental method for measuring the capillary performance factor M was proposed, and it was verified to be correct by the separation effect of the capillary pumping experiment under a vacuum environment. With the increasing oxidized degree, the densification of nanoparticles on the wick surface increased the capillary performance factor M from 8.68 μm to 13.81 μm, with a maximum enhancement of 59.1%. The effective capillary radius decreased from 4.70×10-5 m to 4.01×10-5 m, with a maximum reduction of 14.9%. The permeability increased from 4.33×10-10 m2 to 5.83×10-10 m2, with a maximum enhancement of 34.7%. The increase in porosity made the effective capillary radius dominate the competition for permeability, and the capillary performance factor decreased by 17.1%. The thermal resistance of the wick decreased with the enhancement of the capillary performance factor, which fell from 2.03×10-3 m2·K/W to 1.26×10-3 m2·K/W. The current study provides a reference for the future design and preparation of high-performance heat pipe wicks. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Cr(N,O) thin films were deposited by radio frequency reactive unbalanced magnetron sputtering on Si(100) or glassy carbon substrates. In this paper, the influence of oxygen content on hardness of Cr(N,O) thin films was investigated. The compositional analysis was carried out by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy. It was found that these thin films contained up to 44at.% of oxygen. Phases in the samples were determined by X-ray diffraction. Cr(N,O) thin films show only peaks based on CrN. Deconvolution has become one of the most used methods for improving spectral resolution, and blind deconvolution as a typical method has been researched widely. However, the predefined point spread function (PSF) used in blind deconvolution method is not known exactly in practice. In general, the PSF is estimated simultaneously from the observed spectrum, but it becomes difficult when the spectroscopic data are polluted by strong noise. In this paper, we present a deconvolution method used to improve the resolution of THz spectrum. In the method, the energy function is constructed, which includes the likelihood term, Total variation of spectrum term and L2 norm of the PSF term. The PSF is modeled as a parametric function combination with the a priori knowledge about the characteristics of the instrumental response. The spectrum and the parameter of PSF are obtained by minimizing the energy functional using alternate minimization approach. Experimental results are shown to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method used for THz spectrum.
