The range of electric vehicles is a key concern of users, and there is still a certain gap between the current actual mileage and the prediction results, so it is of great significance to study whether the prediction method obtained under one standard working condition can be applied to other working conditions. This paper takes the data tested under different working conditions as the basic sample, divides the EV driving data into a number of kinematic segments, and proposes a method to evaluate the energy consumption of EVs by taking into account the relevant factors affecting the energy consumption of electric vehicles during the driving process. The results show that the independent energy consumption features obtained by the method proposed in this paper can characterize the energy consumption of electric vehicles under different driving conditions. Therefore, the method proposed in this paper provides a basis for a possible alternative mechanism for expanding the scope of EV energy consumption assessment. © 2023 IEEE.

Photovoltaic energy storage systems(PV ESS), which use energy storage to address the intermittent nature of PV, have been developed to utilize PV more efficiently to lower grid carbon emissions and to mitigate the peak load pressure of distribution network. Due to the significant temporal impact of photovoltaic, the operation of photovoltaic energy storage systems might highly related to the temporal characteristics of the given load profile;however, there is lack of research on the economic impact of the load profiles on the photovoltaic energy storage systems. To fill this gap, an economic comparison is conducted to evaluate the cost-benefit of photovoltaic energy storage systems for different load profiles from a perspective of large industrial consumers in this paper. A method for sizing the capacity of photovoltaic and energy storage based on a given load profile is proposed, and an economic evaluation model considering the cost-benefit of the investment and operation of photovoltaic and energy storage system, as well as the reduction of distribution transformer capacity is proposed. The proposed model is implemented to two typical load profiles in a case study, and the results show the importance of load shapes for matching PV energy storage systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The interaction between various energy supply systems (cold, heat, electricity, gas, etc.) is becoming more tightly coupled as social economy and technology advance. Multi-energy systems are ineffective because different types of energy systems run independently. In order to protect the data privacy of each sub-system, this research suggests an ideal resource management framework for a multi-energy group control system. The energy hub (EH) paradigm is first suggested. When deploying EHs, the physical constraints of various energy systems are taken into account. Through scenario-based stochastic programming, the uncertainties of renewable energy are considered. According to the leader-follower relationship between multi-energy group control system operators and energy hub operators (EHOs), Benders decomposition is applied to decentralize the decision-making process. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed model and algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

The automotive acoustic environment has become an indispensable listening space in people's daily lives. However, due to the complexity of the acoustic environment inside automobiles, the sound reproduction in automobile is particularly problematic compared with that in ordinary domestic environments. From the perspective of sound reproduction, it is an effective approach to improve the reproduction performance by raising the speaker height such that nearer to the height of listener's ear. However, this issue has been less studied quantitatively. In current work, we aim to explore how the speaker height affects the sound field characteristics at target listening region by using the finite element method. The speakers at front door inner panels were mounted to three different heights, respectively, and the sound field characteristics at target listening region in driver seat were analysed. Result showed that for higher speaker layout resulted in larger sound pressure levels at the target listening point, and the sound field distribution tends to be more homogeneous. Also, raising the speaker height is conducive to giving a constant frequency response at the target listening point. This works can provide the reference for the design of automotive audio system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Automotive environment is increasingly becoming an indispensable listening space in our daily life. Affected by the seat occlusions on sound propagation between the front-row and rear-row space, the speech communication between front and rear passengers in automobile is a well-known problem. However, this issue has been paid less attention. To this issue, the numerical simulation is a common, low-cost and high-efficiency technical approach. However, it is a well-known limitation on the effective frequencies to common numerical methods. To extend the region of effective frequencies, a combined approach of the finite element method (FEM) for low-frequency and the ray-tracing method (RTM) for high-frequency (i.e., FEM-RTM) was adopted in current work. The full-bandwidth binaural room impulse responses for a listener in driver's seat were simulated with the speaker at mid-right seats, and both conditions with seats and without seats were taken into account. Result showed that the seats occlusions mainly affected the left ear (i.e., contralateral ear). The seat occlusions reduced the early decay time, speech transmission index and magnitude spectrum for left ear considerably. The inter-aural correlation coefficient under condition without seats was lower than that under condition with seats. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A novel tooth surface design method of face-hobbed spiral bevel gears is proposed, which utilizes a solid cutter without axis tilting through tool path control combining with optimized cutter blade profile to control tooth contact patterns and realize tooth lengthwise chamfering. Firstly, a gear tooth surface generating plan of tool path controlling actively is developed, the mathematical model of the tool path is built, and the equations are given in detail, the determination method of all control parameters is also described. Next, the tooth surface functions of generating gear and machined gear are established based on a mathematic model of the traditional cradle machine tool. Then, the machine setting is also given in concise equations. Finally, the tooth contact analysis is also conducted for a specific gear pair to validate the validity and the reasonability of the new tooth modification method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Due to the requirements of future sustainable transportation, the number of electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in recent years. The increased electric vehicle charging requirements have put pressure on local distribution networks, but also provide opportunities for the utilization of those flexible energy storage resources. And modeling electric vehicle driving and charging behavior is the key to estimate the charging load and further explore the potential of providing grid services. Therefore, the modeling of driving and charging behavior of electric vehicles is widely focused and different trip chain models have been proposed. However, the lack of sufficient real-world data is often the greatest barrier to the implementation of these models. In this paper, a two-layer trip chain model for commuting electric vehicles is proposed, where the bottom-layer model is similar to conventional trip chain models, but its parameters are generated from top-layer model. By introducing structured distributions of the bottom-layer model parameters to top layer model, only simple survey data are required for the model calibration;therefore, the data requirements of trip chain model are largely reduced. The driving and charging behaviors of commuting electric vehicles related to an office building are simulated, and the results show the feasibility of the proposed method. © 2021 IEEE.

Taking the direct drive wind farm connected to weak AC system as the research object, combined with the actual topology of a wind farm in Hami, Xinjiang, this paper establishes the detailed model and cluster aggregation model of direct drive wind farm on PSCAD / EMTDC platform, and comprehensively analyzes the effectiveness of aggregation model under sub synchronous oscillation (SSO). The results show that when SSO occurs, the cluster equivalent model can accurately reflect the output characteristics, damping characteristics and oscillation frequency of the wind farm. According to the actual topology of a wind power collection station in Hami, Xinjiang and the actual operation of a wind power collection station on a certain day, the equivalent clustering is carried out. © 2022 IEEE.
