A trunk lid plate is taken as an example and Fiberglass-reinforced PET material is used to replace steel for weight-saving in this paper. Chooseinjection molding as plate's forming methodto find the optimal parameters in given range. To predict plastic parts' warpage under different injection parameters and find the optimal parameters, the method of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper proposes a novel modeling and simulation environment developed under Matlab.Simulink with friendly and intuitive graphic user interfaces, aimed to enable math-based virtual development and test of intelligent driving systems. Six typical driving maneuvers are first proposed, which are further abstracted into two atomic sub-maneuvers: lane following and lane change, as any maneuvers can be the combinations of these two. A generic trajectory planning and path tracking control algorithm are developed to deal with the generality and commonality of the lane change function with optimization among safety, comfort and efficiency in performing the lane change maneuver. Some typical simulations are conducted with results demonstrating the practical usefulness, efficiency and convenience in using this proposed tool. Copyright © 2014 SAE International.

In order to analyze the impact of engine cabin parts on aerodynamic characteristics, the related parts are divided into three categories except the engine cooling components: front thin plates(average thickness of 2mm), bottom-suspension and interior panels. The aerodynamic drag coefficient(Cd) were obtained upon the combination schemes consisting of the three types of parts by numerical simulation. Results show that Cd by simulation is closer to the test value gained by the wind tunnel experiment when front thin plates were simplified to the two-dimensional interface with zero thickness. The error is only 5.23%. Meanwhile this scheme reduces grid numbers, thus decreasing the calculating time. As the front thin plates can guide the flow, there is no difference on the Cd values gained from the model with or without bottom-suspension or interior panels when the engine cabin contains the front thin plates;while only both bottom-suspension and interior panels are removed, the Cd value can be reduced when the cabin doesn't contain the front thin plates.

This paper presents a new control strategy for three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) pulse width modulated (PWM) rectifier without power source voltage sensors. The relationship between instantaneous power and voltage vectors is derived mathematically. Virtual flux is estimated and used to calculate the phase of the power source voltage and instantaneous power. On these bases, a direct power control (DPC) scheme for three-level PWM rectifier is presented. An optimal switching table is established, vector switching scheme and balance strategy for the neutral point potential are discussed. Variable switching frequency and dynamic process of the startup are also analyzed. Experimental results have verified the theoretical approach and the three-level PWM rectifier with proposed DPC based on virtual flux exhibits several advantages, such as simple algorithm, low costs and excellent dynamic performance. © 2014 IEEE.

In this paper, the heat transfer rate of parallel flow heat exchanger was obtained in the condition of non-uniform flow distribution by 3D numerical simulation. The maximum theoretical heat transfer rate of parallel flow heat exchanger was obtained through 1D calculation. Ultimately, the correlation of the influence of non-uniform flow distribution on heat transfer efficiency was obtained by the comparative analysis of non-uniform flow distribution and heat transfer efficiency and regression calculation. It was found that the forecasted heat transfer efficiency error of correlation was within 2%. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

I. Introduction For driving simulator, steering torque feedback is one of the most intuitive and important factors for driver to acquire road feel. The widely used method in the state of the art is based on a dynamic steering torque feedback model. This model takes into consideration of not only many influencing factors such as tire forces, power assist torque, but in particular, the dynamic attributes of a steering system inself, including inertia, damping and compliance, friction, etc. While all these play important roles on the characteristics of the steering torque feedback, little has been studied on the way and the mechanism as how each of these external factors and internal attributes affects the steering torque feedback individually and collectively [1] [2] [3]. The proposed research in this paper is to investigate the effects on the steering torque feedback mainly due to the dynamic attributes of the steering system itself, and to develop more insight on the contributing mechanism with its inertia effects, damping and compliance effect, and effects due to various types of friction, etc. The aim of this research is to improve not only the accuracy of the steering torque model for applications such as driving simulators, but also the design and performance of a steering system with better torque feedback for application such as electric power steer systems or steer-by-wire systems.

Online partial discharge monitoring for power equipments is useful to improve the capacity of the power supply. Main technology for PD testing is introduced in this paper. Advantages and disadvantages of pulse current, UHF, ultrasonic and TEV method are present. The status quo of online PD monitoring is analyzed, and the detection effect of online PD monitoring is not good. Opinions to improve the effect are given. They include built-in sensors, increasing sensitivity and sample rate. Analysis of the state quo indicates that the relevant technical standards and specifications must be revised to improve the normalization and standardization.

In this paper, based on Kalman filtering algorithm, a method of target vehicle motion state radar estimation with radar(or lidar) is presented. The state equations is established based on rigid plane dynamics theory, and then with a Kalman filter to do radar data processing, the position, velocity and acceleration of the target vehicle can be estimated at the same time, so that to cover the shortage that acceleration information can not be gained with radar system. Through simulation and field tests it is verified that the detection accuracy of position and velocity of target vehicle is increasing, and the acceleration of target vehicle can be estimated effectively and accurately. © 2013 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

IA method is proposed here to recognize wheel's pose and position parameters with computer vision aiming to the need of measuring wheel moving track in suspension bench testing. Firstly, several markers are fit on the target wheel manually. Secondly, image coordinates of character points is calculated with image processing method and least square ellipse fitting algorithm. At last, wheel's pose and position parameters are calculated with rigid body motion POSIT algorithm, and then wheel moving track is measured in test. The algorithm of wheel's pose and position parameters in bench testing based on the computer vision here will supply the base under the realization of the moving wheel's pose and position parameters recognizing in real time. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
