The prediction and forecasting of faults occurring in photovoltaic (PV) system is one of the important aspect to escalate the reliability, output power generation, proficiency, lifetime and effectiveness of overall system. In this article, the behavior of PV array is studied under various faulty circumstances and new approach has offered for the better performance assessment of PV array. This approach is established on the analysis of peculiarities displayed by voltage power (V-P) and voltage-current (V-I) characteristics curves of PV array under different faulty conditions. The proposed technique can be used to identify and classify the five common faults in PV system. These progressive faults (includes open circuit, line-to-line, partial shading, degradation and bridging faults) have been occurred at the basic components of PV cell and at the connection point between PV modules. The characteristic curves under normal and faulty conditions have been compared by utilizing Matlab.Simulink environment. Hence, the suggested method can be utilized to determine the important fact about the health PV array.

New intelligent era calls for new learners and thus urgently needs a series of artificial intelligence. As a good educational platform for teaching artificial intelligence, smart cars have aroused concern and practices of all parties. However, at present, most courses and training pay more attention to basic knowledge and technology of smart cars, seldom to training based on artificial intelligence curriculum system and comprehensive competency integrating science, technology, art and management. Therefore, based on concept of iSTREAM (intelligence for Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Art, and management) and Raspberry intelligent vehicle teaching platform, this paper introduced a smart car-themed artificial intelligence courses including basic courses, specialized courses, specialized technical courses and elective courses. This course can guide learners to develop smart cars based on visual cognition, in-depth learning, VR and 3D printing integrated artistic creativity. It combines disciplines such as science, technology, art, games and management to upgrade a single knowledge and technology course into a comprehensive competency course that integrates knowledge, skills, emotion and management. Practice in Beijing NO.13 and NO.101 High School shows that this course allows students to experience scientific research process, learn artificial intelligence related knowledge and skills, understand scientific way of thinking and scientific research methods, stimulate learners' responsibility and scientific passion, and cultivate leadership skills through self-learning and partly project management. © 2018 IEEE.

Smart education is leading the development direction of Chinese education informatization and becoming a main theme of education development in the era of which technology changes education. Based on literature survey and market research, this paper gives a comprehensive overview of the research and application of smart education from above seven aspects and proposes its development based on the status of smart education development.

Teacher's Online Practice in Community (TOPIC) is an informal and practical online learning community that improves teachers' professional development. Domestic researches on TOPIC have begun to take shape. By sorting out relevant literature retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), this article summarizes research topics such as knowledge management, teacher professional development, and community management and summarizes qualitative and quantitative research methods commonly used by domestic researches. This article finally puts forward some limitations of current researches in this field and forecasts the possible future research directions.

With the rapid development of social media, fast transition of organizational management modes, as well as the increasing security risks caused by human intervention and operations, the existing organizational management systems suffer a severe problem of lowered efficiency and security. This motivates our research. In this paper, we strive to design a new solution to this problem, via instantiating the traditional PDCA cycle theory and using software robots powered by blockchain and smart contracts. In our framework, blockchain and smart contracts can guarantee privacy-protected, traceable, and tamper-resistant data access, and can also help reduce the human intervention. Based on the PDCA cycle theory, we propose the PDCA closed-loop ecological chain on the basis of blockchain. We also validate our work in a real-world scenario, and the results can prove the effectiveness of our model. © 2018 IEEE.

A Pareto optimal mechanism for demand-side platforms in real time bidding advertising markets

Real time bidding (RTB) advertising has been widely recognized as one of the most promising big-data-driven business models, and a fast-growing research field of computational advertising in recent years. In RTB markets, each ad impression is sold through a two-stage resale auction session, in which demand side platforms (DSPs) play an important role as intermediators. Specifically, DSPs buy ad impressions from the Ad Exchange (AdX) platform and resell them to their registered advertisers, who are interested in the target audience behind the ad impressions. The mechanism design of this two-stage resale auction is a hot research topic and also a critical component in maintaining the effectiveness and efficiency of the RTB ecosystems. In this paper, we strive to identify and design a new mechanism for this auction model in stochastic market environments, with the aim of maximizing the total expected revenue of the winning advertiser and the DSP, and improving the expected revenues for both the winning advertiser and the DSP from each ad impression. Our proposed new mechanism is Pareto optimal for the advertisers and DSPs. We study the equivalent forms of our proposed mechanism in cases when the stochastic market environments can be characterized by uniformly or normally distributed random variables, respectively. We also validate our auction mechanism using the computational experiment approach. The experimental results indicate that our mechanism can make both advertisers and DSPs better off. Our work is expected to provide useful managerial insights for DSPs in RTB market practice. (C) 2018 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Recently, generative adversarial networks(GANs)have become a research focus of artificial intelligence. Inspired by two-player zero-sum game, GANs comprise a generator and a discriminator, both trained under the adversarial learning *** goal of GANs is to estimate the potential distribution of real data samples and generate new samples from that *** their initiation, GANs have been widely studied due to their enormous prospect for applications, including image and vision computing, speech and language processing, etc. In this review paper, we summarize the state of the art of GANs and look into the future. Firstly, we survey GANs' proposal background,theoretic and implementation models, and application ***, we discuss GANs' advantages and disadvantages, and their development trends. In particular, we investigate the relation between GANs and parallel intelligence,with the conclusion that GANs have a great potential in parallel systems research in terms of virtual-real interaction and integration. Clearly, GANs can provide substantial algorithmic support for parallel intelligence.

Breast cancer, as one of the most leading cancers for women, has attached more and more attention. Early image-based detection of masses for mammogram screening plays a crucial role for radiological diagnosis. In this paper, we propose to incorporate global and local information for accurate masses detection. Specifically, we improve a local ROI-based CNN framework which is named as YOLO for coarse mass localization, followed by an improved LT-net structure to incorporate global information for fine mass detection. Experimental results on benchmark dataset of INbreast show that our proposed method can achieve preferable results.

Bitcoin is a novel protocol with the potential of enabling a decentralized and trustless cryptographic currency, and its underlying technology named blockchain operates on a worldwide basis via a complex set of rules originally proposed by Nakomoto in 2008. In Bitcoin blockchain, miners provide computational services (i.e. mining) to get profits from the fixed rewards of newly found block and also transaction fees from recording the users' transactions to the blocks. With the decreasing of the fixed new block reward, transaction fees will play the role as the main profit source of miners, thus provide important supports for the sustainability and vitality of the Bitcoin system. Therefore, it is of great necessity to research transaction fees. In this paper, we investigate transaction fees in a queuing game with non-preemptive priority, in which both the miners' mining rewards and the users' time cost are highlighted. Then, we conduct theoretical analysis of the game, getting five types of Nash equilibria of the game. We also find that the over-long waiting time will bring negative marginal profits on transaction fees to some users with low time cost, therefore, they will not be willing to offer transaction fees. © 2018 IEEE.
