Brain tumours are masses of abnormal cells that can grow in an uncontrolled way in the brain. There are different types of malignant brain tumours. Gliomas are malignant brain tumours that grow from glial cells and are identified as astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, and ependymoma. We study a mathematical model that describes glia-neuron interaction, glioma, and chemotherapeutic agent. In this work, we consider drug sensitive and resistant glioma cells. We show that continuous and pulsed chemotherapy can kill glioma cells with a minimal loss of neurons. © 2020, CC BY.

The rapid development of the Cloud Computing Technologies (CCTs) has amended the conventional design of resource-constrained Network control System (NCS) to the powerful and flexible design of Cloud-Based Networked control System (CB-NCS) by relocating the processing part to the cloud server. This arrangement has produced many internets based exquisite applications. However, this new arrangement has also raised many network security challenges for the cloud-based control system related to cyber-physical part of the system. In the absence of robust verification methodology, an attacker can launch the modification attack in order to destabilize or take control of NCS. It is desirable that there shall be a solution authentication methodology used to verify whether the incoming solutions are coming from the cloud or not. This paper proposes a methodology used for the verification of the receiving solution to the local control system from the cloud using Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, which is then applied to actuator after verification and thus ensure the stability in case of modification attack.

New intelligent era calls for new learners and thus urgently needs a series of artificial intelligence. As a good educational platform for teaching artificial intelligence, smart cars have aroused concern and practices of all parties. However, at present, most courses and training pay more attention to basic knowledge and technology of smart cars, seldom to training based on artificial intelligence curriculum system and comprehensive competency integrating science, technology, art and management. Therefore, based on concept of iSTREAM (intelligence for Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Art, and management) and Raspberry intelligent vehicle teaching platform, this paper introduced a smart car-themed artificial intelligence courses including basic courses, specialized courses, specialized technical courses and elective courses. This course can guide learners to develop smart cars based on visual cognition, in-depth learning, VR and 3D printing integrated artistic creativity. It combines disciplines such as science, technology, art, games and management to upgrade a single knowledge and technology course into a comprehensive competency course that integrates knowledge, skills, emotion and management. Practice in Beijing NO.13 and NO.101 High School shows that this course allows students to experience scientific research process, learn artificial intelligence related knowledge and skills, understand scientific way of thinking and scientific research methods, stimulate learners' responsibility and scientific passion, and cultivate leadership skills through self-learning and partly project management.

Radio resource management (RRM), which aims to satisfy the requirements of both mobile users and service providers, can be seen as one of the typical issues of cyber-physical-social system since the social factors, that is, the requirements and priorities of users are extremely important in heterogeneous networks. In this paper, we propose a novel resource allocation and access control mechanism based on parallel network architecture, which provides a high-bandwidth connectivity with guaranteed quality of service (QoS) for mobile users in a seamless manner. In this mechanism, multiple users are classified into several types according to their social property such as priorities and bandwidth requirements of different users. Compared with the general received signal strength (RSS)-based method, the proposed user priority (UP)-based method achieves three main advantages as follows: 1) it further balances the load of base stations (BSs) when the resource is sufficient;2) it provides a mechanism called high priority users higher QoS when the network is heavily loaded compared to the RSS-based method;and 3) it hands over a few users from a heavily loaded BS to a lightly loaded one to allow more users to access this network. The simulation results confirm the advantages of the proposed UP-based mechanism and show that the simulation results of the Q-learning method are consistent with its theoretical analysis.

We are entering a new AI era, and the development of AI technology and popularization of AI education has become the national strategy of China. The primary and secondary school students are the builder of future society, and have strong curiosity and passion to learn new things;therefore, we should make a good preparation of AI education for them and cultivate their basic AI literacy and computational thinking to adapt to the future. In this paper, from the viewpoint of thinking mode and literacy and skill training, a curriculum including basic, project, and practical types is designed. Integrating with the iSTREAM educational system proposed by Chinese Academy of Sciences, exploratory works were shown with some case studies. The applications show that AI education is helpful to enrich the study of primary and secondary school students and to prompt comprehensive quality. © 2018 IEEE.

Prediction markets are markets where participants trade contracts whose payoffs are tied to a future event, thereby yielding prices that can be interpreted as market aggregated forecasts. Past studies have shown that the prediction markets can provide accurate forecasts, sometimes better than sophisticated statistical tools. Due to their advantages, prediction markets have been widely used in the prediction of elections, project management, product quality, and impact of events. However, prediction markets also have some limitations, e.g., poor anonymity and limited market liquidity. In this paper, we propose to apply blockchain powered smart contracts to the prediction markets. First, we give a comprehensive overview on the prediction markets, including their theoretical basis, classification and applications. Second, we present how to design prediction markets based on smart contracts. Then, the algorithm of contracts implementation is proposed. Finally, in order to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm, an intra-enterprise prediction market is built based on a private blockchain. The experimental results show that the market can make accurate prediction for a particular event. In addition, the autonomy, self-sufficiency, and decentralization characteristics of blockchain make the prediction markets more efficient and robust.

Robot plays an increasingly important role in daily life. This paper presents a vision-based wheeled robot for playing Tetris. How to control the robot is elab.rated at length in this paper. The robot adopted a KNR controller as its core controller. With a CCD sensor, it identified colored blocks, lines and the destination. All algorithms are programed with lab.IEW. The experiments and the contest validated the effectiveness of the proposed vision-based wheeled robot system.

In this paper, a neural networks (NNs) enhanced telerobot control system is designed and tested on a Baxter robot. Guaranteed performance of the telerobot control system is achieved at both kinematic and dynamic levels. At kinematic level, automatic collision avoidance is achieved by the control design at the kinematic level exploiting the joint space redundancy, thus the human operator would be able to only concentrate on motion of robot's end-effector without concern on possible collision. A posture restoration scheme is also integrated based on a simulated parallel system to enable the manipulator restore back to the natural posture in the absence of obstacles. At dynamic level, adaptive control using radial basis function NNs is developed to compensate for the effect caused by the internal and external uncertainties, e.g., unknown payload. Both the steady state and the transient performance are guaranteed to satisfy a prescribed performance requirement. Comparative experiments have been performed to test the effectiveness and to demonstrate the guaranteed performance of the proposed methods.

Building autonomous systems that achieve human level intelligence is one of the primary objectives in artificial intelligence (Al). It requires the study of a wide range of functions robustly across different phases of human cognition. This paper presents a review of agent cognitive architectures in the past 20 year's Al research. Different from software structures and simulation environments, most of the architectures concerned are established from mathematics and philosophy. They are categorized according to their knowledge processing patterns-symbolic, emergent or hybrid. All the relevant literature can be accessed publicly, particularly through the Internet. Availab.e websites are also summarized for further reference.
