In the past decade, with the power of graphical boards, visualization of virtual natural scene become popular in multimedia applications. It usually relies on degraded virtual single plant geometrical representations and massive use of textures. Such scenes show however poor variability in terms of the number of species and individual plasticity. They also show strong animation constraints, many limited to viewpoint moves, ignoring growth processes. We propose here a frame for future works related to virtual plant visualization. It aims to drop down the classical geometrical descriptions of individual plants for the benefits of functional representations, aggregated up to a single crown. We then show that a wide range of parametric virtual crown shapes can be built from the knowledge of leaf area. Moreover, production outputs computed at each simulation time step by crop models or FSPM models define strong constraints in the organ positioning. Such constraints can be used to build hierarchical virtual geometries underlying the plant main axis and its crown decomposition according to its axis typology. Conversely, similar representations can also be generated from an exhaustive representation of virtual or real trees. On such plants, we first build a point cloud from the organ 3D coordinates. A statistical hierarchical dynamic clustering analysis can then be applied to the leaf cloud. It allows obtaining the statistical ellipsoid decomposition that can then be used for comparisons or shape fitting optimization. We finally introduce some technical elements showing that basic 3D shapes used for functional visualization (cone frustum and ellipsoids) can be fully generated and rendered by GPU techniques. As a summary, simulated plant functional visualization appears as a promising research track, freeing models from complex and costly geometrical computations. With the development of communication technology, in order to meet the smart city's demand for intelligent infrastructure, the smart street lighting system based on NB-IoT is an effective method to realize the goal. This paper elab.rates on the smart street lighting system's architecture, including the perception and control layer, the transport layer, the platform layer and the application layer. In addition, the actual system is built to verify. This system uses STM32 to build the perception and controller, and relies on China Telecom's NB-IoT communication network for the data transmission, finally using the IoT management platform-Huawei OceanConnect- to implement the connection management, the device management, the data calculation and the remote control functions. This system verifies the feasibility of the smart street lighting system based on NB-IoT technology, which provides the reference for the promotion and application. It is expected to provide intelligent, diversified, efficient and economical services for the smart cities.

Heuristic algorithm for the container loading problem with multiple constraints

This paper addresses the container loading problem with multiple constraints that occur at many manufacturing sites, such as furniture factories, appliances factories, and kitchenware factories. These factories receive daily orders with expiration dates, and each order consists of one or more items. On a particular day, certain orders expire, and the expiring orders must be handled (shipped) prior to the non-expiring ones. All of the items in an order must be placed in one container, and the volume of the container should be maximally utilized. A heuristic algorithm is proposed to standardize the packing of (order) items into a container. The algorithm chooses the expiring orders first before handling the non-expiring orders. In both steps, the algorithm first selects a collection of orders by considering a simulated annealing strategy and subsequently packs the collection of orders into the container via a tree graph search procedure. With the development of productive forces, the manufacturing industry has developed from the "craft manufacturing" of agricultural society to mass production in industrial society, and then to mass customization manufacturing in the information society. In the future, manufacturing will be upgraded to "social manufacturing" in an intelligent society. The Internet of things, cloud computing, social networking, and other related to the most advanced technology will be introduced in the manufacturing process of the whole life cycle of society, aims to make every consumer can participate in the design, manufacture, service and consumption of this product in. In this paper, we discuss the future of highly customized high-end customization in social manufacturing - footwear customization. On the basis of studying a great deal of related literature, this paper introduces the development of social manufacture of shoes and the socialized production of shoemaking industry, moreover, expounds the working principle of machine vision for 3D model reconstruction and carries out simulation experiments to ensure the correctness of the results.

For personalized design it is important to be able to collect, measure and evaluate individual properties of human beings. This paper proposes registration for the point clouds during foot 3D scanning. In the experiment, we get the point clouds of the human foot from the Artec 3D scanner and complete the registration of the point clouds from different visual angles. Dealing with the customized footwear, we choose a novel algorithm, which combines the NARF key point detector and the FPFH descriptor, to improve the efficiency of the initial iteration and reduce the computation burden of matching process. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2018.

Traditional bridge inspection methods require lane closures, inspection equipment, and most importantly the experiences and knowledge of the inspectors. This increases not only the inspection cost and time, but also the risk to the travelling public. Due to the lengthy and costly traditional bridge inspection methods, there has been an increasing backlog of inspection activities. In this research, we design an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assisted bridge defect inspection system, in which a UAV can capture the image and transmit the information to the ground station for further analysis. The system can be divided into 2 subsystems: electromechanics & communication system, and image processing system. The electromechanics & communication systems ensure the self-locating, flight control, image transmission, and human intervention functions. The image processing system performs the image preprocessing, defect extraction, and provides the inspection report. This system, if put into practice, can save the cost up to 70%. We believe that the UAV assisted bridge inspection can be popular in the future. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2018.

The rapid development of the Cloud Computing Technologies (CCTs) has amended the conventional design of resource-constrained Network control System (NCS) to the powerful and flexible design of Cloud-Based Networked control System (CB-NCS) by relocating the processing part to the cloud server. This arrangement has produced many internets based exquisite applications. However, this new arrangement has also raised many network security challenges for the cloud-based control system related to cyber-physical part of the system. In the absence of robust verification methodology, an attacker can launch the modification attack in order to destabilize or take control of NCS. It is desirable that there shall be a solution authentication methodology used to verify whether the incoming solutions are coming from the cloud or not. This paper proposes a methodology used for the verification of the receiving solution to the local control system from the cloud using Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, which is then applied to actuator after verification and thus ensure the stability in case of modification attack.

This paper presents the mechatronic design and hydrodynamic analysis of a novel bioinspired robotic dolphin used formobile water qualitymonitoring. A complementary configuration for mimicry of dolphin-like propulsion is first presented, involving a waist-fluke propulsive unit for dorsoventral oscillations and a pair of flippers with separate degree of freedom for three-dimensional (3-D) maneuvers. A host of onboard sensors is equipped to strengthen the capability of environment perception and mission execution on a near real-time basis. Considering the dynamic requirement formotion transition in water quality monitoring, a central pattern generator based controller is then built to govern the multimodal locomotion of the robotic dolphin. Moreover, a 3-D dynamic model based on the Lagrange method is employed to predict the propulsive performance, followed by simulations of continuous diving and surfacing motions. Finally, both lab.ratory and field experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented mechatronic design and control methods. The results further show that the robotic dolphin with 3-D maneuverability offers a feasible solution to aquatic mobile sensing.

In this paper, a projection-base algorithm is proposed for solving the constrained L 1 -minimization problem. Furthermore, the algorithm is utilized to sparse signal reconstruction. The L 1 -minimization is first converted into some equations which are described by the projections onto a hyper box set and the nonnegative quadrant. Then a iterative algorithm is proposed for solving the L 1 -minimization problem. Next, the algorithm is applied to sparse signal reconstruction described as an L 1 -minimization problem subject to L ∞ -norm noise constraint, or equivalently bound constraint. Finally, several experiments are presented to show the performance of the proposed algorithm.

In this paper, we propose Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) method based on deep learning, which is improved in some aspects. First, training samples used for Model-GRU is generated by monte carlo simulation, as a data-driven method. Second, comparing with time consuming conventional methods, the proposed deep learning based methods can greatly reduce necessary time to evaluate ability after finishing training. Third, our model can notice the embedded relationships among the performances for neighboring items, thus human's memory effect during testing can be considered. In the implementation of CAT, the recently developed Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) is applied. Testing results have shown that the proposed model can response more quickly and accurately compared with the conventional CAT. The findings offer a new way to study the student's ability through testing.
