The control of a high Degree of Freedom(DoF) robot to grasp a target in three-dimensional space using Brain-Computer Interface(BCI) remains a very difficult problem to solve. Design of synchronous BCI requires the user perform the brain activity task all the time according to the predefined paradigm; such a process is boring and fatiguing. Furthermore, the strategy of switching between robotic auto-control and BCI control is not very reliable because the accuracy of Motor Imagery(MI) pattern recognition rarely reaches 100%. In this paper, an asynchronous BCI shared control method is proposed for the high DoF robotic grasping task. The proposed method combines BCI control and automatic robotic control to simultaneously consider the robotic vision feedback and revise the unreasonable control commands. The user can easily mentally control the system and is only required to intervene and send brain commands to the automatic control system at the appropriate time according to the experience of the user. Two experiments are designed to validate our method: one aims to illustrate the accuracy of MI pattern recognition of our asynchronous BCI system; the other is the online practical experiment that controls the robot to grasp a target while avoiding an obstacle using the asynchronous BCI shared control method that can improve the safety and robustness of our system.

With the page explosion of WWW, how to cover more useful information with limited storage and computation resources becomes more and more important in web IR research. Using web page non-content feature analysis, we proposed a clustering-based method to select high quality pages from the whole page set. Although the result page set contains only 44.3% of the whole collection, it is related with more than 98% of links and covers about 90% of key information. Link property and retrieval affects are also observed and experiment results show that key resource selection method is more suitable for the job of data cleansing and the result page set outperforms the whole collection by smaller size and better retrieval performance.

Using optimization tools such as genetic algorithms to construct a fuzzy expert system (FES) focusing only on its accuracy without considering comprehensibility may result in a system that is not easy to understand or so called a black box model. To exploit the transparency features of FESs for explanation in higher-level knowledge representation, a FES should provide high comprehensibility while preserving its accuracy. The completeness of fuzzy sets and rule structures should also be considered to guarantee that every data point has a response output. This paper proposes some quantitative measures to determine the degree of the accuracy, the comprehensibility, and the completeness of FESs. These quantitative measures are then used as a fitness function for a genetic algorithm in optimally building a FES.

This study investigates the consensus control issue in discrete-time linear multi-agent systems(MASs) using data-driven control under undirected communication networks. To alleviate the communication burden, an adaptive event-triggered control strategy involving only local information is proposed and a model-based stability condition is derived that guarantees the asymptotic consensus of MASs. Furthermore,a data-based consensus condition for unknown MASs is established by combining a data-based system representation with the model-based stability condition, using only pre-collected noisy input-state data instead of the accurate system information a priori. Specifically, both model-based and data-driven event-triggered controllers can be utilized without requiring any global information. The validity and correctness of the controllers and associated theoretical results are demonstrated via numerical simulations.

Estimation fusion performance with the effect of correlation is analyzed. First, the correlation type is classified into two categories: same source correlation and different source correlation. Second, with the best linear unbiased estimation (BLUE) criteria, the scalar case is analyzed with the effect of correlation. For the same source correlation, with the same absolute value, the fusion result for negative correlation is better than positive correlation. For the different source correlation, with independent extra information, stronger correlation can lead to better fusion result. Finally, the conclusions are supported by some examples.
