Knowledge graph embedding aims at offering a numerical knowledge representation paradigm by transforming the entities and relations into continuous vector space. However, existing methods could not characterize the knowledge graph in a fine degree to make a precise link prediction. There are two reasons for this issue: being an ill-posed algebraic system and adopting an overstrict geometric form. As precise link prediction is critical for knowledge graph embedding, we propose a manifold-based embedding principle (ManifoldE) which could be treated as a well-posed algebraic system that expands point-wise modeling in current models to manifold-wise modeling. Extensive experiments show that the proposed models achieve substantial improvements against the state-of-theart baselines, particularly for the precise prediction task, and yet maintain high efficiency.

To improve the agility, dynamics, composability, reusability, and development efficiency restricted by monolithic federation object model （FOM）, a modular FOM is proposed by high level architecture （HLA） evolved product development group. This paper reviews the state-of-the-art of HLA evolved modular FOM. In particular, related concepts, the overall impact on HLA standards, extension principles, and merging processes are discussed. Also permitted and restricted combinations, and merging rules are provided, and the influence on HLA interface specification is given. The comparison between modular FOM and base object model （BOM） is performed to illustrate the importance of their combination. The applications of modular FOM are summarized. Finally, the significance to facilitate compoable simulation both in academia and practice is presented and future directions are pointed out.

Model Predictive control technology as the most typical method of Advanced Process control has been developed rapidly and applied widely in process industry. Weather MPC controllers operate well or not affect the enterprise benefit directly, therefore it is significant to carry out economic performance assessment and optimization. As a pragmatic method, LQG benchmark introduces manipulated variables together with controlled variables into quadratic dynamic index, which is more suitable for industrial application than Minimum Variance control benchmark. However, traditional LQG benchmark is regressed from an unbalanced distribution of discrete points set, which causes unnecessary calculation and poor regression in more important parts of points set. To avoid this, the relationship between manipulated variables variance and controlled variables variance was calculated, an equal-grid LQG benchmark was introduced and added in two layers MPC optimization problem as an equation constraint, then the optimal MPC setting values or reference trajectory could be obtained. The economic performance assessment and simulation results for delayed coking furnace show the effect of proposed methods. © 2011 Zhejiang University.

In this paper, a dynamically constructive method is proposed for proving the universal approximation for single input/single output (SISO) Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems, which is superior to the existing constructive methods only considering the global property of the function to be approximated and also unrelated to the membership functions of fuzzy sets. The dynamically constructive method proposed not only considers the different property of the nonlinear function in different areas, but also the membership functions of fuzzy sets in fuzzy rules. As a result, the number of rules in the constructed T-S model is greatly reduced. Finally some simulation examples confirm that the T-S fuzzy model constructed by our method with small size rule base can approximate the given nonlinear functions at high accuracy as compared with some typical methods. © 2007 IEEE.

A new turning-mechanism for Amoeba-like Robot was proposed in this paper, which based on the amoeba-like robot kinematics characteristics of tail contracting and skin flipping. First, one kind of variable-speed node composed of the spring and damp was designed. Because of the existing of the variable-speed nodes, the velocities of the two strip-skins depended not only on the velocities of threads that gone through the variable-speed nodes, but also on the spring and damp it contained. So, although the velocities of threads that induced the velocities of the strip-skins were the same, the velocities of the strip-skins still can be different since the variable-speed nodes existed. That difference in velocities made the turning movement possible. Second, the dynamic model for the turning movement of the Amoeba-like Robot was established and analyzed. The analysis results included the angular velocity and angle curve related to time, which were computed with the dynamic model when shortening speed of threads length was constant. The results achieved in this paper provided an important basic for the research on the behaviors and control strategy of amoeba-like robot. The new turning-mechanism can be popularized to the tracked mobile robot, for it provided a new and availab.e turning method. © 2016 IEEE.

According to the characteristics of the cascading failures in power grid, a lot of assessment methods based on the probability theory have been proposed in recent years. However, most of them ignore the influence of the changing operating conditions on the power system planning and operation. This paper assesses the risk of the cascading failure in the power system based on the operational reliability theory which considering the variation of operating states and environment of the power system. The operational reliability of the power system is calculated based on Markov Process which describes the transient probability of states. The key conception of this theory is that the failure rate and the probability of components are changing along with the life of the equipment, the operating states and the environment conditions. A new evaluation procedure is brought up to calculate the operational reliability indices which can provide the specific information of the cascading failure. The evaluating results of the test system confirm that this approach is applicable to analyze the cascading failures in real power system. ©2010 IEEE.

With the rapid development of distributed energy resources (DERs), it is of vital importance to develop a well-designed transmission cost allocation scheme to reflect the contributions of DERs to the power system. In this paper, a usage-based transmission cost allocation scheme is proposed considering the capability of DERs. Based on the different intentions of transmission capacity, the transmission costs can be classified into four fractions: operating, contingency, planning and invalid transmission costs. On operating conditions, the transmission costs are identified and allocated according to the actual usage of consumers at each node. On contingency conditions, the transmission cost allocation will be influenced by the behaviors of DERs since DERs can provide emergent power support to help alleviate transmission congestion. On planning conditions, the transmission costs are useful in the future. The residual costs, i.e., the invalid transmission costs, should not allocated by consumers because this fraction is caused by the over investment of transmission owners. The case studies based on the IEEE 30-bus system validates the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and model. © 2016, Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.

Geckos can efficiently navigate complex terrains due to their multi-level adhesive system that is present on their *** setae are responsible for the gecko’s extraordinary adhesion and have garnered wide attention from the scientific *** majority of the reported works in the literature that have dealt with the peeling models mainly focus on the gecko hierarchical adhesive system,with limited attention given to investigating the influence of gecko toe structure on the *** these lines,to gain a deeper understanding of the rapid and effortless detachment abilities of gecko toes,the peeling behavior of gecko toes on vertical surfaces was primarily investigated in this *** specifically,the detachment time of a single toe on a smooth acrylic plate was measured to be 0.41±0.21 ***,it was observed that the toe assumed a"U"-shaped structure upon complete ***,Finite Element Analysis(FEA)models for three different types of gecko toes were developed to simulate both the displacement-peel and the moment-peel *** the segmentation of the adhesive layer led to a gradual decrease in the resultant force,as well as the normal and tangential ***,a gecko-inspired toe model was constructed and powered by Shape Memory Alloy(SMA).A systematic comparison between the vertical drag separation and the outward flip separation was also *** our analysis,it was clearly demonstrated that outward peel separation significantly necessitated the reduction of the peeling force,thus confirming the advantageous nature of the outward motion in gecko toe *** data not only contribute to a deeper understanding of the gecko detachment behavior but also offer valuable insights for the advancement of the wall-climbing robot feet.

A new time-frequency representation called Dopplerlet transform, which uses the dilated, translated and modulated windowed Doppler signals as its basis functions, is proposed, and the Fourier transform, short-time Fourier transform (including Gabor transform), wavelet transform, and chirplet transform are formulated in one framework of Dopplerlet transform *** is proved that the matching pursuits based on Dopplerlet basis functions are convergent, and that the energy of residual signals yielded in the decomposition process decays exponentially. Simulation results show that the matching pursuits with Dopplerlet basis functions can characterize compactly a nonstationary signal.

Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models have been the popular choice for multi-model based nonlinear system identification for controller design. However, the interpretation of the model from a dynamical systems point of view is still unclear. In this paper, we investigate the interpretation of the TS fuzzy models in terms of local dynamics of nonlinear systems in state space. The investigation is based on the comparison between the constant-affine recursive i/o equation and constant-affine state space representations. We show that the true local dynamics is not identifiable by TS fuzzy models by analysis and example. For the identification of constant-affine state space models, a subspace identification algorithm is proposed to identify the true local dynamics with zero initial conditions.
