The large-scale access of renewable energy sources such as wind power will affect the operation and dispatch of the power system, and will affect the safe and stable of the power grid. The ESS has the ability to respond quickly, which can reduce the impact of wind power on the grid. Based on a hybrid energy storage with a certain capacity, a corresponding rolling optimization control strategy is proposed. Using batteries and super capacitor as energy storage media, an optimal control model targeting the state of charge of the hybrid energy storage system is established, and the solution is solved by a particle swarm optimization algorithm. The simulation example shows that a HESS with a certain capacity on the generation side can achieve a smooth grid connection. The control strategy proposed in this paper extends the service life of the battery.

The effects of trace additions of Ti and Al on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Gd-Zn alloy were investigated. Trace Al addition can promote the generation of LPSO in Mg-Gd-Zn(-Ti) alloys. Trace Ti addition can not only effectively refine the microstructure of as-cast alloys, but also inhibit the growth of DRXed grains in as-rolled alloys. The maximum texture intensity of the as-rolled alloy is slightly weakened by the addition of trace Ti and Al. The aging hardening response can be improved by adding Ti, but decreased by adding Al. The fibrous 14H LPSO phases, refined DRXed grains, basal texture and fine precipitates endow the peaked-aged Mg-Gd-Zn-Al-Ti alloy with superior mechanical performance, its UTS, YTS and elongation are 486MPa, 402MPa and 8.7%, respectively. © 2022, The Authors. Single focused beams have shown great potential in acoustofluidics and medical ultrasound because of their large pressure gradient and acoustic-thermal effect, such as acoustical tweezers and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technique. However, the three-dimensional trapping of typical cells is still challenging since cells in water have a positive acoustic contrast factor and will be repulsive from the focus [Gong and Baudoin, Phys. Rev. Applied 18, 044033 (2022)]. In this work, to reverse this positive acoustic contrast factor into negative, we propose to use a cell-friendly medium (made of iodixanol with water) [Augustsson et al., Nat. Commun. 7, 11556 (2016)]. This enables a single focused beam to selectively trap and control cells in 3‐D, and more importantly, keeps the manipulated cells with good viability. This work will extend the applications of acoustical tweezers, which may be beneficial to single cell analysis, cellular phenotyping, precise assembly of different cells in tissue engineering, and controlled drug delivery.

The dielectric and charge properties of XLPE insulation with different service periods are important to estimate the aging state of high voltage cables. The accelerated aging experiment was carried out to obtain the aged XLPE samples with the needle-plate electrodes using power frequency AC source. The surface composition and dielectric parameters of XLPE samples were measured and analyzed with the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and impedance analyzer. The surface potential and trap distribution of XLPE samples were measured by the isothermal surface potential decay (ISPD) method. The tested objects include the new XLPE sample, the samples with different electrical tree lengths, and the one with electrical tree breakdown. The results show that the aging of the electrical tree changes the dielectric parameters and trap distribution of XLPE samples. The dielectric constant increases with the length of electrical tree. The deeper and shallower traps appear simultaneously in the surface layer of XLPE insulation after electrical tree aging, and the trap density increases with the length of electrical tree. The trap energy level is the lowest and the trap density is the largest in the sample with electrical tree breakdown. The FTIR result shows that the absorption peaks of XLPE backbone structure decline obviously after electrical tree aging. The fracture of molecular chain and formation of low density area in XLPE sample are the main reasons for the change of dielectric and trap after electrical tree aging. © 2021 IEEE.

The SF6 abatement strategies had received special attention due to the fact that SF6has very high global warming potentials and long atmospheric lifetime. The use of degradation method can effectively eliminate the greenhouse effect caused by SF6 exhaust gas. In this paper, Zr(PO4)4, AlPO4, NiO and FeO4 were used as catalysts to degrade SF6 gas (the volume ratio of SF6 was 15% and the background gas was air) at 800 ?. The concentration of SF6 gas was detected by gas chromatograph to obtain degradation rate, the partial degradation products of SF6 gas were quantitatively analyzed by gaschromatograph-mass spectrometer, and the main products detected were SOF, SOF and SO gas. Comparing the product formation characteristics of four groups of test products when phosphate and metal oxide were used as catalysts, the gas production of SO was the most at the same temperature. When Zr(PO4)4 and AlPO4 were used as catalyst, the SOF gas production reached dynamic equilibrium at 31300ppm and 2385ppm respectively after heating for 4h, and the generated SOF gas presented a linear growth. When NiO and Fe3O4 were used as catalyst, SOF and SOF gases were both linearly increased. When Zr(PO4)4 was used as catalyst, compared with other catalysts, the amount of SOF produced was the largest. NiO had a good catalytic effect, and the degradation rate of SF6 gas reached 27.07% within 12h. The main decomposition products were SOF, SOF and SO gas, which could be filtered out by lye, which was of great significance for reducing greenhouse gas caused by SF6 exhaust gas emissions. © 2020 IEEE.

As important and widely used electrical equipment, GIS (gas insulated switchgear)greatly affects the stability and safety of the entire power grid due to its working state and performance. When a partial discharge or local overheating occurs inside the GIS, SF6will decompose and produce various by-products (including SO, SOF, COS, HS, SOF and etc) that are toxic and corrosive. The reduction of SF6 gas concentration and the generation of corrosive gases will lead to a decrease in the internal insulation strength of GIS. By monitoring the concentration of SF6in GIS, it can help us to judge the operating status of GIS and prevent fault. In this paper, we build a gas Raman spectroscopy gas detection platform. The light source of the detection platform is a solid-state laser with a wavelength of 532nm and a laser power of 1.5W. A self-designed gas cell is used to contain the gas to be measured. A spectrometer and CCD are used to collect Raman signals. Based on this Raman spectroscopy gas detection platform, a Raman spectroscopy study of SF6was carried out. Under 1 atmosphere pressure, Based on the built Raman detection platform, Raman spectroscopy of SF6with a concentration of 99.99% was obtained. By analyzing the Raman spectroscopy obtained, the characteristic Raman spectral lines of SF6was determined as 774cm-1. And the Raman spectroscopy of SF6 under the pressure of gradient distribution was obtained. The Raman spectra of SF6with gradient pressure, laser power were obtained. By analyzing the Raman spectroscopy of SF6obtained under different pressure and laser power, it is found that the characteristic peak intensity of Raman of SF6is highly linear with pressure and laser power. The highly linear relationship between the Raman peak intensity of SF6and various conditions shows that Raman spectroscopy has great advantages in the quantitative analysis of SF6. Hollow-Core Photonic Crystal Fibers (HC-PCFs) have aroused great interest in the field of fiber-based gas sensing, where high sensitivity, fast response, and distribution sensing are required. One of the most important factors for gas sensing is the response time that the gas fills the hollow core of the fiber. In order to achieve rapid response for gas sensing, various techniques have been investigated in the literature, such as lateral drilled side holes. Though the gas concentration along the fiber at a certain time can be expressed, it do not give a satisfied explanation to the mechanism of gas flow in HC-PCFs drilled with side holes, which is essential to determine the optimum design parameters of the fiber sensor, such as the size and spacing of drilled side holes. This study aims to analyze the gas flow behavior and determine the response time of HC-PCFs with drilled side holes by developing and applying a numerical model based on gas diffusion in a microchannel. The diffusion takes place at the atmospheric temperature and pressure. Both ends of the HC-PCF are spliced to single mode fibers, the side holes whose diameter is 10 µm are open to the air. The open side holes are embraced with gas species, the transient diffusion process between the air and the gas species. The model is validated against the results of two different experimental studies. The model is then applied to determine the response time as a function of the length, the number and spacing of side holes. It is found that an inverse relationship exists between the effects of number and spacing of side holes on the response time, suggesting that an optimum design point exists. The results obtained can be utilized for the fiber sensor design. © 2020 IEEE.

In order to satisfy the demands of ship high-power electric propulsion system and energy storage system of a medium voltage direct current (MVDC) based ship integrated power system (IPS), a modular multilevel converter with integrated composite energy storage (MMC-ICES) is proposed in this paper. In order to pursue both fast power response and longtime power supply, both batteries and super-capacitors are integrated into the MMC to form a composite energy storage. Therefore, it can not only compensate the pulse power of high-energy equipment in a ship, solve the low-frequency voltage fluctuation problem of sub-module capacitors when the MMC drives a propulsion motor under low speed high torque condition, but also provide emergency power supply under ship grid fault condition. The decoupled control method is discussed in detail and verified by simulation results in this paper.

The short-term hydrothermal scheduling (STHS) is a complex non-linear, non-convex and high-dimensional mathematical optimization problem. Due to the fact that the original chimp optimization algorithm (ChOA) is likely to fall into local optimum and has the disadvantage of low population diversity, an improved chimp optimization algorithm (IChOA) is proposed to solve the STHS problem. Firstly, Logistic-Tent chaotic mapping is employed to initialize the population and increase the population diversity. Then a new nonlinear convergence factor is introduced to make the optimization search process more applicable to STHS problems. Next, particle swarm algorithm (PSO) and gravitational search algorithm (GSA) are combined to enhance the shortcoming and balance the global search ability and local exploration ability of ChOA. Moreover, Cauchy mutation and opposition-based learning strategy are supplemented as perturbation interference when the optimal position is not updated to improve the ability to leap out of the local optimum. Finally, a graded optimization strategy is adopted for the constraint handing of dynamic reservoir balance and thermal power balance. Three standard hydrothermal power systems are utilized to verify the practicability and validity of the proposed method. Results of simulations reveal that IChOA has significant competitive advantages in addressing the STHS problem. © 2022, IAENG International Journal of Computer Science. All Rights Reserved.
