Multi-temporal PolSAR data is suitable for crops classification and growth monitoring. It is still difficult to establish a classifier with good robustness and high generation over a long temporal acquisition duration. This work aims to provide a solution to this task by exploring benefits from both the target scattering mechanism interpretation and the advanced deep learning. A polarimetric-feature-driven deep convolutional neural network classification scheme is established. Comparison studies with multi-temporal UAVSAR datasets validate the efficiency and superiority of the proposal. © 2017 IEEE.

Brain tumours are masses of abnormal cells that can grow in an uncontrolled way in the brain. There are different types of malignant brain tumours. Gliomas are malignant brain tumours that grow from glial cells and are identified as astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, and ependymoma. We study a mathematical model that describes glia-neuron interaction, glioma, and chemotherapeutic agent. In this work, we consider drug sensitive and resistant glioma cells. We show that continuous and pulsed chemotherapy can kill glioma cells with a minimal loss of neurons. © 2020, CC BY.

WISERNet: Wider Separate-then-reunion Network for Steganalysis of Color Images

Until recently, deep steganalyzers in spatial domain have been all designed for gray-scale images. In this paper, we propose WISERNet (the wider separate-then-reunion network) for steganalysis of color images. We provide theoretical rationale to claim that the summation in normal convolution is one sort of "linear collusion attack" which reserves strong correlated patterns while impairs uncorrelated noises. Therefore in the bottom convolutional layer which aims at suppressing correlated image contents, we adopt separate channel-wise convolution without summation instead. Conversely, in the upper convolutional layers we believe that the summation in normal convolution is beneficial. Therefore we adopt united normal convolution in those layers and make them remarkably wider to reinforce the effect of "linear collusion attack". As a result, our proposed wide-and-shallow, separate-then-reunion network structure is specifically suitable for color image steganalysis. We have conducted extensive experiments on color image datasets generated from BOSSBase raw images and another large-scale dataset which contains 100,000 raw images, with di_erent demosaicking algorithms and downsampling algorithms. The experimental results show that our proposed network outperforms other state-of-the-art color image steganalytic models either hand-crafted or learned using deep networks in the literature by a clear margin. Specifically, it is noted that the detection performance gain is achieved with less than half the complexity compared to the most advanced deeplearning steganalyzer as far as we know, which is scarce in the literature. Under the condition of multi-microgrids system, due to the location dispersion of microgrids, and the different characteristics of distributed generations and loads, the size of sampling in a reliability assessment algorithm is always huge, which influences computational efficiency. In this paper, based on the operation characteristics of a multi-microgrid system, a reliability evaluation algorithm based on the parallel computing algorithm of the multi-microgrid system is proposed. The algorithm can sample the operating state of each microgrid at the same time and consider the interaction between the various microgrids in a multi-microgrids system. The algorithm can significantly improve the calculation speed of the reliability assessment algorithm of the multi-microgrid system, which is of great significance to the reliability evaluation of the multi-microgrid system in the region. © 2017 IEEE.

Cancer is a term used to refer to a large set of diseases. The cancerous cells grow and divide and, as a result, they form tumours that grow in size. The immune system recognise the cancerous cells and attack them, though, it can be weakened by the cancer. One type of cancer treatment is chemotherapy, which uses drugs to kill cancer cells. Clinical, experimental, and theoretical research has been developed to understand the dynamics of cancerous cells with chemotherapy treatment, as well as the interaction between tumour growth and immune system. We study a mathematical model that describes the cancer growth, immune system response, and chemotherapeutic agents. The immune system is composed of resting cells that are converted to hunting cells to combat the cancer. In this work, we consider drug sensitive and resistant cancer cells. We show that the tumour growth can be controlled not only by means of different chemotherapy protocols, but also by the immune system that attacks both sensitive and resistant cancer cells. Furthermore, for all considered protocols, we demonstrate that the time delay from resting to hunting cells plays a crucial role in the combat against cancer cells. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Polarimetrie measurement is a prerequisite for applications such as radar target recognition and anti-interference based on polarimetry information. The precision of polarimetric measurement depends on the accuracy of the calibration of polarimetric radar systems. In this paper, a new polarimetric calibration method by designing a high-Precision polarimetric active radar calibrator(PARC) is proposed, which can accurately calibrate the radar transmitting and receiving channels, respectively. system composition and key technologies of the PARC are explained. And then the whole calibration method is provided. © 2017 IEEE.

Based on three-channel SAR-GMTI system, the velocity and location of the deceptive moving target generated by single jammer are studied. Study result shows that both the deceptive stationary target and moving target can be considered as moving target, and the estimated azimuth location which has nothing to do with the setting value is the same as jammer. © 2017 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society.

This paper focuses on the pulse compression of wideband V-style frequency modulation (V-FM) signals, where the pulse compression of the received V-FM signals is achieved by the dual-channel dechirping. The compressed signals of one channel after pulse compression is flipped left to right and added to the compressed signals of another channel after pulse compression to achieve the final signals of the V-FM signals after pulse compression. Simulated trials are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in pulse compression of the V-FM signals. © 2017 Association for Computing Machinery.

According to the analysis of the traditional multiport converter, a novel partly-isolated four-port converter topology is proposed. The proposed converter is combined by two boost converters and a bidirectional full-bridge DC/DC converter, which can realize bi-directional transfer of energy and isolated between ports, and it ensures the stability of photovoltaic power with a lithium battery energy storage system. Then the control strategies of proposed converter under different working modes are analyzed. Finally, the simulation of operating modes and the conversion between the modes are carried out to verify the feasibility of the new four-port converter.

High-speed mobility is a challenging scenario in wireless communications since it involves fast-varying channels, in which orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) could degrade significantly without accurate Doppler compensation. Recently, a modulation called orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) was proposed for the specific scenario. The advantages are two-fold, i.e., the orthogonality in the time-frequency domain and the clustered sparsity of channel information in the delay-Doppler domain. In this paper, we propose a two-dimensional structured Turbo compressed sensing (CS) algorithm based on our previous work on Turbo CS for fast time-varying channel estimation. Markov random field is applied to model the clustered sparse prior of the channel in the two-dimensional delay-Doppler domain. In contrast to the conventional Turbo CS, a two-dimensional structured minimum mean-square error (MMSE) estimator is designed by message passing over a Markov random field. The convergence and the MSE performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated, and the simulation results validate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing algorithms.
