We propose in this paper an intelligentsystem for human fall detection in indoor environments. It can serve as home surveillance for elderly person. Specifically, we detect the human body captured by camera using the Vibe algorithm. Then Gabor feature of a human body is extracted as observation feature. Based on the extracted feature, incidents are detected as the changes from the standing state to the fall state in the feature space. The feature is detected on single image and is effective and efficient. Compared with the motion features across images combined with biological inspired feed-forward network, our method can obtain more robust detection results.

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is an innovative and programmable networking architecture, representing the direction of the future network evolution. In this paper, we propose an architecture to introduce traffic classification techniques into the OpenFlow-based SDN network, which enables the network to be application-aware, so the network could distinguish various applications flows and know the requirements of different flows. Our new architecture also take advantage of the new intelligence to make the network forward traffic flows based flows' demands on bandwidth and delay, which could improve Quality of Service (QoS) of applications and optimize resource allocation all over the network.

This paper focuses on the load shifting problem in a household scenario with a large-capacity battery. We propose a novel Model Predictive Control (MPC) framework to control the charge/discharge power of battery, hence to shave the peak load. Being different from other studies, the framework is designed on the base of individual habit of energy consumption, as it is envisioned that the individual habit is critical for choosing the suitable energy services. In this paper, the habit is modeled as a Markov process and gradually learned by an iterative algorithm;thus, the habit can be utilized for the prediction of future energy consumption. Then, the rolling optimization is applied for the optimal control of the charge/discharge power of battery. It is shown by numerical simulations that the proposed approach can significantly reduce the peak load.

A numerical model of fault calculation for AC-DC interconnected system under asymmetrical fault is proposed. It involves two converter models that work effectively under asymmetrical fault. Firstly the article establishes a converter model that based on switching function. In which HVDC system is substituted as sequence impedance in the AC system. The article proposes another converter model that based on the power factor of converter. In which HVDC system can be substituted as power source in the AC system. By simplifying the dynamic characteristics of the control system of HVDC, the numerical model of control system is proposed, and the circuit model of HVDC system is established. Iterative algorithm is used to solve the fault system. The simulation results and calculation results are compared under several fault conditions, and the applicability of the model and switch function is discussed. Some further researches are carried out based on the numerical model.

The identification of Chinese herbal powders is usually based on physical or chemical detection, but that is far from enough to identity dozens of herbal species. Microscopic images of these powders contain variety of information, and important evidence for identification. These images usually contain variety of substance, and most of them are noises, which makes the target segmentation become a difficult job. An effective automatic target segmentation algorithm based on texture is proposed in this paper. Our method consists of two steps: "Preliminary Segmentation" and "Further Segmentation". Firstly, feature vector of texture is extracted and clustered into two groups: background and foreground;secondly, taking the continuity of edge and the locality of target into consideration, energy equations are established, and Maximum flow-Minimum cut Algorithm is applied to solve them. Three groups of images are used to test our method: microscopic images of Chinese herbal powders, Brodaze Images, and natural texture images. And the experimental results show that our method achieves a better segmentation compared with Grab-Cut, and additionally user inter-action is not required in our method.
