Vibration coupling effects between two concentric cylindrical shells through periodic annular plates and entrained fluid

The coupling effects on two concentric cylindrical shells with periodic annular plates as well as entrained fluid were investigated theoretically. Expressions for the reactive forces by the annular plates were derived on the assumption that only quasi-longitudinal waves exist in the annular plates and an analytical expression for the outer shell was developed. Comparisons of numerical results for infinite two-walled cylindrical shell to measured data for a cabin model are in good agreement. Numerical results were presented for analyzing the characteristics of the loadings due to the acoustic fluid and the periodic annular plates, and their influences on the outer shell＇s far field acoustic radiation.

Leak point localization systerm for closed vessel based on infrared image processing

In this paper, a device for closed vessel's leaking localization is introduced based on infrared image processing. After the infrared thermography captured multi-frame infrared images of the closed vessel with cooling gas, each frame of the ROI region is processed by Gauss filtering. The suspected leak points are detected by hough circle detection method after their edges in the ROI are extracted by using canny edge operator. Finally, the appearance probability of the suspected leak point is used to determine a leaking point. Experiments show that the proposed method overcomes the disadvantage of infrared image's higher level noise effectively and is able to accurately localize the leak points.

To improve the agility, dynamics, composability, reusability, and development efficiency restricted by monolithic federation object model （FOM）, a modular FOM is proposed by high level architecture （HLA） evolved product development group. This paper reviews the state-of-the-art of HLA evolved modular FOM. In particular, related concepts, the overall impact on HLA standards, extension principles, and merging processes are discussed. Also permitted and restricted combinations, and merging rules are provided, and the influence on HLA interface specification is given. The comparison between modular FOM and base object model （BOM） is performed to illustrate the importance of their combination. The applications of modular FOM are summarized. Finally, the significance to facilitate compoable simulation both in academia and practice is presented and future directions are pointed out.

Ground Test Platform for Space Teleoperation (GTPST) is a complicated distributed system consisted of multiple subsystems, and controlling it properly under large transmission delay is a huge challenge. Multi-agent system (MAS) is an effective method of solving distributed problems logically and physically, which has such merits as high adaptability, high reliability and easy to expand and maintain. The control model of GTPST is established based on MAS in this paper. Due to the limitation of the availab.e network bandwidth and the large time delay of satellite-ground links, we develop some applications based on mobile agent which can perform its execution locally on remote site, only return the final result or desired data back to local site. As no operation and communication between remote and local sites are needed during the execution of the mobile agent, valuable bandwidth can be reserved and saved. Meanwhile, communication protocols of MAS are improved and designed to increase the communication efficiency of the system. The availab.lity of the system is verified by the test the simulated service satellite (SSS) replaces cell unit for the simulated client satellite (SCS) finally. © 2009 IEEE.

In Distributed Virtual Environment many methods of Data Distribution Management (DDM) are presented to efficiently improve network traffic situation and save system resources? these technologies are based on virtual environment partition. The grid size of the partition affects the data distribution results. This paper aims to present a Neural-Network based study mechanism, which adjusts the grid size dynamically in the virtual environment. The simulation results indicate that by using this technique, better experimental results and practicability were achieved regardless the DDM used. And there is a significant improvement in system scalab.lity. ©2009 IEEE.

The dynamic characteristic of the spectrum needs cognitive radio parameters must be dynamically adjusted, which makes the cross-layer design of cognitive wireless network has become necessary. This paper proposes a structure of cross-layer optimization and cross-layer optimization algorithm based on co-evolutionary particle swarm optimization, which combines cognitive radio dynamic spectrum allocation and parameters cross-layer optimization. Simulation results show that the algorithm can not only allocate the spectrum dynamically, but also has good performance of cross-layer optimization.

This is the 8th year that IR group of Tsinghua University (THUIR) participates in TREC. This year we focus on Web track, which contains two tasks, namely ad hoc and diversity. On ad hoc task, we improved the efficiency of our distributed retrieval system TMiner to handle terabytes of Web data. Then three studies have been done, namely page quality estimation, ranking feature analysis, and model comparison. On diversity task, we proposed several new approaches on searching strategy, user intention detection, and duplication elimination. To mine user's intention, we proposed and compared two different strategies, namely "searching + content-based diversity' which is a kind of result clustering, and "user based diverse intention prediction + searching' which is in the branch of query expansion.

Social tagging is a popular and convenient way to organize information. Automatic tag suggestion can ease the user's tagging activity. In this paper, we exam both content-based and graph-based methods for tag suggestion using the BibSonomy dataset, and describe our methods for ECML/PKDD Discovery Challenge 2009 submissions. In content-based tag suggestion, we propose a fast yet accurate method named Feature-Driven Tagging. In graph-based tag suggestion, we apply DiffusionRank to solve the problem, and get a better result than current state-of-the-art methods in cross-validation.

The resource limitation of mobile devices causes the problem that the existing image processing software based on the centralized computing mode had difficulty running in mobile devices. A solution is given in the paper by adopting web service-based image processing method. For one thing, image processing tasks were distributed to service providers' service registry and service requesters. For another, what the service providers should do was only to invocate the specific image processing services provided by service providers. Consequently, web service-based solution reduces the resource consumption of mobile devices by redistributing image processing tasks. Compared with traditional methods of image processing, Web service-based image processing method has the advantages of loose coupling and component oriented and can take full advantage of the computing resources in heterogeneous network. Thus web service-based image processing method can effectively solve the resource bottle-neck that traditional image processing software had. ©2009 IEEE.
