An energy-storage system comprised of lithium-ion battery modules is considered to be a core component of new energy vehicles,as it provides the main power source for the transmission ***,manufacturing defects in battery modules lead to variations in performance among the cells used in series or parallel *** variation results in incomplete charge and discharge of batteries and non-uniform temperature distribution,which further lead to reduction of cycle life and battery capacity over *** solve this problem,this work uses experimental and numerical methods to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the clustering of battery cells with similar performance in order to produce a battery module with improved electrochemical *** were first performed by dismantling battery modules for the measurement of performance *** kmeans clustering and support vector clustering(SVC)algorithms were then employed to produce battery modules composed of 12 cells *** verification of the results obtained from the clustering analysis was performed by measuring the temperature rise in the cells over a certain period,while air cooling was *** was found that the SVC-clustered battery module in Category 3 exhibited the best performance,with a maximum observed temperature of 32℃.By contrast,the maximum observed temperatures of the other battery modules were higher,at 40℃for Category 1(manufacturer),36℃for Category 2(manufacturer),and 35℃for Category 4(k-means-clustered battery module).

Chinese word segmentation can be implemented in a coarse-to-fine schema. In such schema, a candidate set containing multiple segmentations of a sentence (rather than only one segmentation) is used as the output of a coarse-grained CWS model. Then a more sophisticated CWS model or other models of downstream tasks will reconsider all the segmentations in the candidate set to determine the best segmentation. This paper discussed and compared three candidate generation methods, namely boundary level method, word level method and sentence level method, in a unified form. The oracle F1-measures of the candidate sets of these methods were compared. The performances were also compared in a joint CWS and POS-tagging task. The results showed that the word level method has the best performance among these three candidate generation methods. Results also showed that the coarse-to-fine schema outperforms the pipeline schema in which only one segmentation is used for the downstream task and the joint schema in which all possible segmentation is used for the downstream task. Moreover, the speed of the coarse-to-fine schema is closed to the speed of the pipeline schema and much higher than the speed of the joint schema. © 2011 IEEE.

Existing graph-based ranking methods for keyphrase extraction compute a single importance score for each word via a single random walk. Motivated by the fact that both documents and words can be represented by a mixture of semantic topics, we propose to decompose traditional random walk into multiple random walks specific to various topics. We thus build a Topical PageRank (TPR) on word graph to measure word importance with respect to different topics. After that, given the topic distribution of the document, we further calculate the ranking scores of words and extract the top ranked ones as keyphrases. Experimental results show that TPR outperforms state-of-the-art keyphrase extraction methods on two datasets under various evaluation metrics. © 2010 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Star sensors are widely used in aerospace and astronautics due to their high precise attitude measurements. The main difficulty when estimate a fully autonomous attitude is identifying the stars in the sensor field. This paper surveys the development of the past 35 years in the area of autonomous star identification. Some classical algorithms such as polygon algorithm, match group algorithm, grid algorithm, neural network, genetic algorithm, singular value method, and so on are reviewed and described in detail. The performances of each algorithm are compared and the factors related to the problem are analyzed. Finally, some conclusions and suggestions are given for future research.

News articles in different languages on the same event are invaluable for analyzing standpoints and viewpoints in different countries. The major challenge to identify such closely related bilingual news articles is how to take full advantage of various information sources such as length, translation equivalence and publishing date. Accordingly, we propose a discriminative model for bilingual news alignment, which is capable of incorporating arbitrary information sources as features. Chinese word segmentation, Part-of-speech tagging and Named Entity Recognition technologies are used to calculate the semantic similarities between words or text as feature values. The feature weights are optimized using the minimum error rate training algorithm to directly correlate training objective to evaluation metric. Experiments on Chinese-English data show that our method significantly outperforms two strong baseline systems by 12.7% and 2.5%, respectively. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

This paper presented H∞ control designs of a complex nonlinear system which can be modeled by a dynamic neural network. Two kinds of new H∞ control design methods are developed. One tries to attenuate both modeling error and the external disturbance to a prescribed level via the H∞ control term, the other tries to attenuate the external disturbance only via the H∞ control, whereas the modeling error is dealt with by a sliding mode control term. © 2002 IEEE.

Multi-relation Question Answering is a challenging task, due to the requirement of elab.rated analysis on questions and reasoning over multiple fact triples in knowledge base. In this paper, we present a novel model called Interpretable Reasoning Network that employs an interpretable, hop-by-hop reasoning process for question answering. The model dynamically decides which part of an input question should be analyzed at each hop;predicts a relation that corresponds to the current parsed results;utilizes the predicted relation to update the question representation and the state of the reasoning process;and then drives the next-hop reasoning. Experiments show that our model yields state-of-the-art results on two datasets. More interestingly, the model can offer traceable and observable intermediate predictions for reasoning analysis and failure diagnosis, thereby allowing manual manipulation in predicting the final answer. © 2018 COLING 2018 - 27th International Conference on Computational Linguistics, Proceedings. In this paper, we present an efficient look-ahead technique based on both the Language Model (LM) Look-Ahead and the Acoustic Model (AM) Look-Ahead, for the time-synchronous beam search in the large vocabulary speech recognition. In this so-call stage based look-ahead (SLA) technique, two predicting processes with different hypothesis evaluating criteria are organized by stages according to the different requirements for pruning the unlikely surviving hypotheses. Furthermore, in order to reduce the efforts for distributing the LM over the lexical tree more effectively, the LM Rank based Pruning (LMRP) is integrated with the extension of each new phoneme node. The recognition experiments performed on the 50k-word Mandarin Dictation task (Easytalk2000) show that a reduction by 10 percents in the search effort in comparison with the standard word-conditioned search using LM look-ahead only, and a reduction of 25 percents in the word error rates in comparison with the search algorithm without any look-ahead can be achieved.

The identification of Chinese herbal powders is usually based on physical or chemical detection, but that is far from enough to identity dozens of herbal species. Microscopic images of these powders contain variety of information, and important evidence for identification. These images usually contain variety of substance, and most of them are noises, which makes the target segmentation become a difficult job. An effective automatic target segmentation algorithm based on texture is proposed in this paper. Our method consists of two steps: "Preliminary Segmentation" and "Further Segmentation". Firstly, feature vector of texture is extracted and clustered into two groups: background and foreground;secondly, taking the continuity of edge and the locality of target into consideration, energy equations are established, and Maximum flow-Minimum cut Algorithm is applied to solve them. Three groups of images are used to test our method: microscopic images of Chinese herbal powders, Brodaze Images, and natural texture images. And the experimental results show that our method achieves a better segmentation compared with Grab-Cut, and additionally user inter-action is not required in our method.

News Topics are related to a set of keywords or keyphrases1. Topic keyphrases briefly describe the key content of topics and help users decide whether to do further reading about them. Moreover, keyphrases of a news topic can be considered as a cluster of related terms, which provides term relationship information that can be integrated into information retrieval models. In this paper, an automatic online news topic keyphrase extraction system is proposed. News stories are organized into topics. keyword candidates are firstly extracted from single news stories and filtered with topic information. Then a phrase identification process combines keywords into phrases using position information. Finally, the phrases are ranked and top ones are selected as topic keyphrases. Experiments performed on practical Web datasets show that the proposed system works effectively, with a performance of precision=70.61% andrecall=67.94%. © 2008 IEEE.
