The key difference of laser triggered vacuum switch (LTVS) and electrical triggered vacuum switch (ETVS) is the different triggered way, because the initial plasmas were generated by laser irradiation target material of LTVS, which generates different impact on the triggered characteristics of LTVS with different target materials. There are three laser wavelength (1064nm, 532nm and 266nm) which are tested the triggered characteristics of target materials, with decreased conduction time delay under the condition of increasing laser energy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Connected electric vehicles (EVs) are a key component of future intelligent and green transportation systems, and the penetration of EVs depends on convenient and cost-effective charging services. In addition to being charged at home or on parking lots, a charging network is needed for EVs right off the road. This paper first focuses on the optimal charging network design for charging service providers, considering the time-varying and location-dependent demands from vehicles and constraints of power grids. To optimize the charging station locations and the number of chargers in each station, we first model the coverage area of each possible location to estimate the dynamic charging requirements of EVs. Then, we formulate the problem as profit maximization, which is a mixed-integer program. To make the problem tractable, we investigate the features of the problem and obtain a necessary condition to deploy a charging station and derive the upper and lower bounds of the number of chargers in each station. Given the analysis, we take two steps to transform and relax the problem to convex optimization. A fast-converging search algorithm is further proposed based on the profit of each possible location. Using real vehicle traces, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can maximize the total profit when fewer charging stations and chargers are initially needed, which is more attractive for charging service providers.

Combining disk springs having negative stiffness with a rolling-ball in parallel is proposed in this paper. It is used to reduce the system stiffness and the positioning error in a non-ideal *** characteristics of a disk spring are analyzed. The dynamic equation of its motion has been obtained based on Newton＇s second law. After definition of a error margin,the dynamic equation of the motion can be treated as a Duffing oscillator,and the influences of non-dimensional parameters on the stiffness and transmissibility are studied. The natural frequency and transmissibility are achieved in a linearization range,where the ratio of linear to nonlinear items is small *** influence of mass ratio and non-dimensional parameters on natural frequency are analyzed. Finally,a comparison of numerical example demonstrates that the QZS system can realize a lower stiffness within an increased range.

In this work, a series of hydroxylmethyl pentamine (HMPA) was synthesized from vegetable oil, tetraethylene pentamine and hexamethylenetetramine, which was evaluated as a crude oil flow improver. The results showed that HMPAs have good viscosity reduction effect on the crude oil from Yanchang Oilfield, with the highest viscosity reduction rate of 93%. The highest pour point reduction depression was achieved as 5.4°C. Paraffin crystal morphology characterization was conducted on the crude oil to elucidate the mechanism of viscosity reduction and pour point depression. © 2018 Trans Tech Publications.

In this paper, the castor oil, as additives, has been investigated on the phase separation temperature of M15, M30, M50 and M65 methanol gasoline at -25.0°C to 40.0°C, respectively. The effect of the additives on the phase stability and saturation vapour pressure was discussed. It was found that castor oil derivatives have good phase stability to various ratio methanol gasoline blends. Introducing water in the methanol gasoline blends need much amount of methyl castor oil to realize phase mixable. Besides, the castor oil can depress the saturation vapour pressure of methanol gasoline effective as well. With these data, it can be concluded that the castor oil have the great potential to be used gasoline-methanol additives. © 2018 Trans Tech Publications.

According to the analysis of the traditional multiport converter, a novel partly-isolated four-port converter topology is proposed. The proposed converter is combined by two boost converters and a bidirectional full-bridge DC/DC converter, which can realize bi-directional transfer of energy and isolated between ports, and it ensures the stability of photovoltaic power with a lithium battery energy storage system. Then the control strategies of proposed converter under different working modes are analyzed. Finally, the simulation of operating modes and the conversion between the modes are carried out to verify the feasibility of the new four-port converter.

In this paper, a projection-base algorithm is proposed for solving the constrained L 1 -minimization problem. Furthermore, the algorithm is utilized to sparse signal reconstruction. The L 1 -minimization is first converted into some equations which are described by the projections onto a hyper box set and the nonnegative quadrant. Then a iterative algorithm is proposed for solving the L 1 -minimization problem. Next, the algorithm is applied to sparse signal reconstruction described as an L 1 -minimization problem subject to L ∞ -norm noise constraint, or equivalently bound constraint. Finally, several experiments are presented to show the performance of the proposed algorithm.

The prediction method based on the partition of weather types has been widely used in photovoltaic prediction. Here, the temporal characteristics of PV data is studied, the physical meaning of the sequential difference sequences is analysed, and a characteristic index system including sequential characteristics index is proposed. The weather types are partitioned based on self-organising map neural network algorithm. Case study shows that the partition method is helpful to improve the discrimination of weather types and to improve prediction accuracy. © 2017 Institution of engineering and Technology. It is a key issue in building operation management how to design an open and ubiquitous information system for diversity buildings of smart cities. This paper presents an operation management cloud ecosystem for smart buildings based on the technologies of Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing. It contains four levels: operation management application level, Internet of things platform, networking level, node level. The IoT platform provides hosting and computing, cloud storage, data storage for smart buildings. Networking level takes the responsibility for networking for intelligent hardware and smart terminals from the device level. With the building operation management applications, the cloud ecosystem is able to provide services of monitoring, controlling, management, and real-time optimization for smart buildings in cities.
