The effect and the application ways of nhanced coagulation using KMnO4 were tested in this article. It was demonstrated that the addition of KMnO4 to coagulant (PAC) could enhance the efficiency of coagulation, which helped for reducing clogging of ultrafiltration membrane. KMnO4 is suitable to be used before PAC addition for avoiding large flocculating constituent conforming, which reduces contacting area of KMnO4 and organic matters. Furthermore, it's would not oxidize the conformed flocculating constituent and destroy the flocculating. The existence of organic matter could influence the effect of enhanced coagulation on wastewater treatment. Mechanisms that the good effect of enhanced coagulation were analyzed. Four kinds of membrane resistance were tested, which illustrated that the adsorption resistance was the main factor for membrane blocking. Adsorption resistance normally was caused by organic matters. Existence of KMnO4 would reduce the influence of organic matter on coagulation and two reasons were analyzed. By treating in this way, treated water could be reused for car washing.

Determination of relative three-dimensional (3D) position, orientation, and relative motion between two reference frames is an important problem in robotic guidance, manipulation, and assembly as well as in other fields such as photogrammetry. A solution to pose and motion estimation problem that uses two-dimensional (2D) intensity images from a single camera is desirable for real-time applications. The difficulty in performing this measurement is that the process of projecting 3D object features to 2D images is a nonlinear transformation. In this paper, the 3D transformation is modeled as a nonlinear stochastic system with the state estimation providing six degrees-of-freedom motion and position values, using line features in image plane as measuring inputs and dual quaternion to represent both rotation and translation in a unified notation. A filtering method called the Gaussian particle filter (GPF) based on the panicle filtering concept is presented for 3D pose and motion estimation of a moving target from monocular image sequences. The method has been implemented with simulated data, and simulation results are provided along with comparisons to the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) to show the relative advantages of the GPF. Simulation results showed that GPF is a superior alternative to EKF and UKF.

This work is concerned with the small signal stability problem in multi-machine systems. By means of H∞ theory, firstly the math model with disturbances is constructed;and secondly, the excitation control law for each generator is designed based on solving Riccati Equation. Finally, simulations performed on 4-machine system shows that the proposed H ∞ method has more advantages over LQR method in both damping ratio and H∞ norm of the corresponding closed-loop system and so can enhance the small signal stability of power system greatly.

To solve the conflict between image denoising and edge localization, a novel edge detection algorithm based on multiscale gap statistic information fusion through DS evidence theory was proposed. Gap statistic of gray-scale image was defined. Detection uncertainty was introduced in fusion procession. Mass functions (or basic probability assignment functions) were designed based on the relationship between Gap statistic response and detection threshold. Detection uncertainty reaches maximum value at the detection threshold. And mass functions corresponding to each Gap statistic at different scales were combined by Dempster's combination rule. Pixels were classified into edge or off-edge according to the joint mass function. Tex experimental results show that this proposed method is effective in reducing detection uncertainty and better than classical edge detectors.

A small piece of 〈110〉 orientated relaxor-based ferroelectric Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PMN-PT) single crystals was embedded in Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O 3-Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO 3 (PMN-PNN-PT) polycrystalline matrix to form the fully dense disk by spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. Specimens were subsequently annealed to promote the boundary migration of the template single-crystal through a process termed as solid-state single crystal growth. It was found that the addition of excess 5 wt% PbO can promote the crystal growth, and the 2D morphology with V-shaped single crystals of PMN-PNN-PT were also observed. The possible growth mechanism was discussed.

Photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) tests have been carried out for toluene adsorbed on the TiO2/ACF catalyst in an environmental condition controlled chamber. TiO2/ACF catalyst was made and characterized by N2 adsorption isotherm for pore structure and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for morphology respectively. Through exploring the remnant of toluene and the accumulation of intermediates on the TiO2/ACF catalyst including species, amount and their change processes under different relative humidity (RH), this study aimed to explore the influence of RH on the PCO of toluene and the role of water vapor in the PCO process: PCO reaction paths and the accumulation of intermediates on the TiO2/ACF catalyst. Results suggested that: (1) RH affects both the PCO rate and the PCO reaction path of toluene;(2) although methyl group oxidation is the major path, aromatic ring oxidation, which is not the expected path for the PCO of toluene, is enhanced when the RH increases;(3) apart from the role of hydroxyl radical (OH) arose from water by TiO2, water molecular also directly takes part in the PCO process. The shape change of electrical tree propagating in ice-water quenched high-density polyethylene (HDPE) film under AC voltage of different frequency ranging from 50 Hz to 90 kHz as well as the breakdown phenomena caused by the treeing degradation under high frequency condition were studied. The electrical treeing aging experiment is carried out at room temperature. The shape change of electrical tree and the arcing process during the experiment is observed via a digital micro-observing system. It is found that the arcing process can be obviously observed under a high frequency voltage compared with that under low frequency voltage. It is also found that under different frequency voltages the electrical tree initiation shape is different. Most of the electrical trees are branch-shape tree under lower frequency voltage. When the frequency is higher than 5 kHz, trunk-shape tree and bosk-like tree appears. Once the frequency is higher than 50 kHz, breakdown tree can be found out. It is shown that the tree shape conversion is influenced by the frequency. The electrical tree usually has a simple shape and rarely changes under low frequency voltage in one hour or more. However, under a high frequency voltage, the electrical tree shape changes more frequently and has a large probability to breakdown. The influence of frequency on material polarization process, fatigue and thermo effect is considered as the main causes of the experiment results. The more serious destruction caused by high frequency electrical treeing degradation can well explain the reason of insulation premature inactivation in mid-frequency or high-frequency electrical equipment.
