Based on the water and sediment series from 1961-1970 (60 series) and 1991-2000 (90 series), this paper makes a comparative study on the variation rules of the incoming water and sediment and erosion-deposition in the past 20 years (2003-2022) of the Three Gorges Reservoir. The results show that: (1) Under the influence of successive storage operation of the cascaded reservoirs in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, the incoming sediment from the main stream of the Jinsha River decreased sharply, resulting in the annual average of 1.9 billion tons of sediment from 2003 to 2012 to 0.8 billion tons from 2013 to 2022;(2) In the past 20 years of impoundment of the Three Gorges reservoir, the average annual sediment accumulation is 1.03 billion tons, which is only 30.8% of the total in the demonstration stage. The sediment accumulation mainly occurs in the perennial backwater area, which is characterized by discontinuous and flaky "Spaced and banded" distribution;(3) Before the construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir, the sediment carrying capacity is obviously greater than the sediment concentration in the canyon and the wide valley reach. After the operation of the reservoir, the sediment carrying capacity of the wide valley reach is significantly reduced, and the sediment carrying capacity is less than the sediment concentration. © 2024, The Authors. Fault location in distribution systems includes 2 subtasks: fault distance estimation and fault section identification. This paper presents a fault location method based on reclosure-generating traveling waves and system topology. Firstly, the reclosure-generating traveling waves under normal and fault conditions are analyzed to find the traveling wave reflected by fault point, through which the fault distance could be estimated. Secondly, we propose a fault section identification method by comparing real measured traveling waves with simulated traveling waves with different potential fault points. Noticing that only time information of traveling waves rather than their magnitude is necessary, instead of using electromagnetic transient simulation, we also present a simplified simulation algorithm that only focuses on the arrival time of traveling waves based on priority queue. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can locate fault points in high accuracy with low computational burden. © 2020 IEEE.

Nowadays, although conditional convolutional neural networks have applied to semantic segmentation, their loss function needs to be carefully designed. We propose an improved generative adversarial network including a generator network and a discriminator network for semantic segmentation. In some blocks, we substitute 3×1 and 1×3 factorized convolution for 3×3 convolution to make full use of transverse and longitudinal information. We concat the original image with the output of the generator as the input of the discriminator network to improve the discriminant ability. As a result, our model achieves 69.6% mean intersection over union (mIoU) on the Cityscapes test set. Our experiments exhibit that adversarial training approach leads to improved accuracy on the Cityscapes, Camvid, Kitti and Gatech dataset in road scene.

In this study, we investigate van der Waals two-dimensional materials, specifically Hexagonal Boron Nitride (hBN), to explore dispersion-assisted Purcell enhancement and light outcoupling enhancement. We examine the photonic density of states in conjunction with a dipole emitter near an hBN slab. revealing intriguing light-matter interactions governed by hyperbolic dispersion properties. Our results demonstrate that significant Purcell enhancement can be achieved for both type-II and type-I hyperbolic dispersions, independent of dipole orientation. Furthermore, we show that at specific wavelength ranges, substantial power can be extracted from the hBN slab.for various dipole orientations. These findings are supported by detailed analytical calculations and numerical field mapping simulations. Notably, single-photon sources based on a simple hBN slab.require minimal microfabrication and operate across a broad wavelength range, which is crucial not only for advancing fundamental photonic concepts but also for driving technological innovations in photonics and quantum applications.

As China's economy grows and urbanization intensifies, interchange pressures on urban rail transport are increasing in parallel, and the capacity of the existing CBTC system is saturated. Therefore, this paper uses virtual coupling to reduce passenger pressure during peak periods. A collab.rative optimization model is proposed to balance train utilization, train dwell time, and passenger waiting time to optimize train schedules. We use the CPLEX optimizer to solve the model and generate a train schedule based on the optimal solution. Numerical experiments based on real-world operations verify the validity of the model. © 2021 IEEE

Effects of Sic Content on the Microstructure and Properties of the Coatings Prepared by Plasma Spraying Cr2o3-Al-Sic Composite Powder

Four kinds of chromium carbide composite coatings were successfully prepared on the surface of TC4 titanium alloy by plasma spraying Cr 2 O 3 -Al-SiC system. The effects of SiC content in composite powder on the microstructure and properties of the as-prepared coatings were investigated. The results showed that the desired phases of Cr 7 C 3 , CrSi 2 and Al 2 O 3 were synthesized in situ through the reactions among Cr 2 O 3 , Al and SiC powders. However, due to the different content of each phase in the as-prepared coatings, the microstructure and properties of the coatings were also different. With the increase of SiC content in composite powder, the porosity of the coatings decreased first and then increased, and the microhardness and toughness increased first and then decreased. When the SiC content was 12 wt%, the coating had the lowest porosity, the highest microhardness and the best toughness. This is attributed to the higher reaction degree and better melting state of the composite powder in the plasma jet. The microstructure of the as-prepared coating was uniform and dense, which not only reduced the porosity of the coating, but also improved the microhardness and the toughness of the coating. Therefore, when the content of SiC in Cr 2 O 3 -Al-SiC composite powder is 12 wt%, the coating has the best performance. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper proposes an advanced control strategy consisting of current stress optimization based on triple-phase-shifting (TPS) modulation for front-end DAB converter and 33% PWM method for back-end three-phase full bridge inverter. Compared with the traditional phase shift control, the control strategy proposed for the front-end DAB converter achieves linear control and significantly reduces current stress. In addition, it reduces the DC-Link capacitance, which improves the safety of the equipment. The 33% modulation method adopted by the full bridge inverter at the back-end reduces the switching loss of semiconductor devices. The principle, derivation and realization of the proposed control strategy are described in detail. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. © 2021 IEEE

The rising interdisciplinarity and complexity of the Distributed Automation Systems (DASs) require the systems to be modeled in an unambiguous and high-level abstract way for cross-discipline/stage communication and interoperability in the Model-Driven Development (MDD) lifecycle. The concept of the System Architecture Model in systems engineering has been adopted for this challenge. To support the creation and analysis of this model, a modeling framework with a modeling methodology, modeling language, knowledge base, and related toolkit is established based on SysML and Semantic Web Technologies. A modeling methodology which is the core of the framework for modeling the architecture of DASs is formally defined with domain-specificity, comprehensiveness, discipline-neutrality, and platform-independency. Based on it, the SysML-DAS modeling language is extended from SysML, and the System Architecture Ontology is built with the help of the Knowledge Extraction Tool. This ontology works as the knowledge base not only to provide a unified and unambiguous view of the system but also to support the automated accomplishment of tasks in the MDD process. As a typical task, the semantic correctness and integrity of the system architecture model can be assessed by the Knowledge Analysis Tool in this framework.

In this article, we study the formation problem for a group of mobile agents in a plane, in which the agents are required to maintain a distribution pattern, as well as to rotate around or remain static relative to a static/moving target. The prescribed distribution pattern is a class of general formations where the distances between neighboring agents or the distances between each agent and the target do not need to be equal. Each agent is modeled as a double integrator and can merely perceive the relative information of the target and its neighbors, and the acceleration of the target. In order to solve the formation problem, a limit-cycle-based controller design is delivered. We divide the overall control objective into two subobjectives, where the first is target circling that each agent keeps its own desired distance to the static/moving target as well as rotating around or remaining static relative to the target as expected, and the second is distribution adjustment that each agent maintains the desired distance to its neighbors. Then, we propose a controller comprised of two parts, where a limit cycle oscillator named a converging part is designed to deal with the first subobjective, while a layout part is introduced to address the second subobjective. One key merit of the controller is that it can be implemented by each agent in its local frame so that only local information is utilized without knowing global information. Theoretical analysis of the convergence to the desired formation, of which the agents are required to be evenly distributed on a circle around the target, is provided for the multiagent system under the proposed controller. Numerical simulations are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the cases of general formations, and to show that no collision between agents ever takes place throughout the system's evolution. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Federated Reinforcement Learning for Electric Vehicles Charging control on Distribution Networks

With the growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs), maintaining power grid stability has become a significant challenge. To address this issue, EV charging control strategies have been developed to manage the switch between vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and grid-to-vehicle (G2V) modes for EVs. In this context, multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) has proven its effectiveness in EV charging control. However, existing MADRL-based approaches fail to consider the natural power flow of EV charging/discharging in the distribution network and ignore driver privacy. To deal with these problems, this paper proposes a novel approach that combines multi-EV charging/discharging with a radial distribution network (RDN) operating under optimal power flow (OPF) to distribute power flow in real time. A mathematical model is developed to describe the RDN load. The EV charging control problem is formulated as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) to find an optimal charging control strategy that balances V2G profits, RDN load, and driver anxiety. To effectively learn the optimal EV charging control strategy, a federated deep reinforcement learning algorithm named FedSAC is further proposed. Comprehensive simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed algorithm in terms of the diversity of the charging control strategy, the power fluctuations on RDN, the convergence efficiency, and the generalization ability. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.
